All the Uzumaki siblings were moved to different dimensions by Kaguya. Kaguya stood there and looked toward Shanks, but she did not immediately attack him. Behind her, space instantly tore open, forming a dark rift, and she calmly floated inside it.
Shanks watched all of this with complete calmness in his posture. There was not the slightest trace of worry on his face. He was not concerned about his siblings or what might happen to them. Not all of the Uzumaki siblings are equally powerful, he knew very well. Some of them are far weaker than Kaguya and don't stand a chance against her in a direct confrontation. Their chances of survival by themselves are close to zero.
However, he also knew for a fact that they would not die instantly, nor could they be killed so easily. Guy, Benimaru, and Antares were there. With those three present, each capable of challenging Kaguya even in a one-on-one battle, it was practically guaranteed that the others would not be harmed.
If Kaguya can move freely from one dimension to another, then Guy, Antares, and Benimaru possess similar capabilities as well. They can travel between dimensions too. No matter where Kaguya sends them, they will eventually regroup.
As for the onlookers present around the battlefield, they were stunned after witnessing this scene. Watching Kaguya use a space-time jutsu was something they had never expected, yet they had seen it with their own eyes.
But that was not the end. What happened next was even more shocking, and for many, downright horrifying.
They watched as Makima, who had been crushed by Kaguya's hair, began recovering. Fragments of flesh and blood started pulling themselves together. Her broken body rapidly rejoined and reformed before their eyes. Within moments, she appeared completely unharmed, fully restored, and standing in the same spot as if nothing had happened at all.
Shanks was not surprised in the slightest by this scene because he had been expecting it to happen. As for the person who might have died somewhere in the Land of Sea, that was simply the price of Makima's resurrection.
The cost of her revival was to transfer the fatal injury, or even the death itself, onto someone else.
The person connected to her contract was the Daimyo of the Land of Sea. Therefore, someone within the Land of Sea would randomly suffer a fatal injury, encounter a deadly accident, or simply die in her place.
Although it was unfortunate that an innocent person might suffer such a fate, Shanks did not care much about it. My sister is far more important than some random stranger, he thought. I'm no saint who's going to mourn every unknown casualty. As long as Makima is alive, everything else is secondary. Everything was fine as long as Makima remained alive.
Now, from the Akatsuki members who remained behind—the masked man and Kisame—as well as from around the battlefield itself, reanimated ninjas started to appear one after another. Kages from different generations and different villages emerged onto the battlefield. Their presence alone was enough to make many tense up.
And their target seemed to be only one person: Shanks.
However, how could that be allowed while Minato, Naruto, and the other Konoha elites were present? Although Itachi and Shisui were absent, having been assigned to a different mission by Minato, many other Uchiha clan members were still on the battlefield. Along with them stood numerous elite shinobi of Konoha.
And Makima was also present.
The moment she saw the reanimated forces appearing, Makima immediately formed hand seals and used the Summoning Technique. Hundreds of beasts appeared around her in bursts of smoke. The summoned creatures let out roars and screeches before instantly rushing forward, moving to intercept, attack, and contain the advancing reanimated ninjas before they could reach Shanks.
At the same time, Minato moved forward to stop the masked man.
That man was Obito. Guy had already informed Minato about the masked man's true identity, leaving no room for doubt.
Minato stopped a short distance away from him and calmly said, "Obito, you don't have to wear this mask anymore. I know that you are behind it. Let's have a proper fight again, and this time, end our enmity for good."
A brief silence followed. The air itself seemed tense as the two former teacher student stood facing each other. Just as both of them were about to collide, a figure suddenly flashed behind Minato.
It was Kakashi. Kakashi looked directly at Obito before speaking.
"Sensei, please allow me to fight Obito. He is like this mostly because of me, so it is my duty to fight him."
Minato remained silent for a moment after hearing those words. He looked at Kakashi and saw the conviction in his expression. There was no hesitation there—only resolve. Minato eventually nodded.
"As you wish."
Without saying anything else, he stepped aside and left the confrontation to his student.
Obito watched this scene quietly before raising a hand toward his mask. Slowly, he removed it, revealing his face completely.
"Well, Kakashi," Obito said, looking directly at him, "I have been waiting for this fight for a long time."
Kakashi stared back at Obito. His eyes narrowed slightly as countless memories flashed through his mind.
"Why?" Kakashi asked. "Why do this, Obito?"
Obito's expression darkened. "Because I am going to destroy this world." His voice was calm, yet filled with bitterness. "You destroyed my world by killing Rin, and I am going to destroy this world that destroyed my Rin."
The two former teammates stood opposite each other, neither willing to look away.
As soon as Kakashi heard this, he frowned and said, "Do you even know what you are talking about, Obito? It was the very same person you are working with who was behind Rin's death—Madara Uchiha. We have learned the truth. Return to your senses, Obito." His voice remained firm, but there was pain hidden beneath it. "That day, it was not me who killed Rin. Rin knew that she was going to die. She did not want to become some mindless beast before her death and kill ninjas of Konoha. That's why she chose to take her own life instead. It just so happened that the weapon she used was my hand."
Kakashi's expression darkened slightly as the old wound was reopened once more. I deeply regret it to this day and have carried that guilt ever since, he thought bitterly. Not a single day passes when I completely forget it.
"But that does not give you any reason to do what you are doing right now, Obito."
Obito remained silent for a brief moment before replying, "I know very well." There was no hesitation in his voice. "That's exactly why I said that this world is the reason Rin died." His eyes narrowed. "Madara was doing everything for the so-called peace of this world, and my Rin was sacrificed for it. She was used so that I would become his pawn."
Obito clenched his fists, a trace of anger appearing on his face. Something I never wanted to become. I would never have followed him willingly, so he chose another method. He plotted against Rin and forced everything to happen exactly as he wanted.
His gaze locked onto Kakashi's. "My mind is not going to change, Kakashi." The atmosphere around them grew heavier. "If you want to change my mind, then you will have to kill me."
The battlefield seemed to quiet down around them for a moment as those words hung in the air.
Kakashi looked at Obito silently. He could see the pain, hatred, and obsession that had consumed his former teammate for years. Yet he could also tell that words alone would not reach him anymore. After a few moments, Kakashi slowly nodded.
"Then so be it."
Neither of them spoke another word. The next instant, both vanished from their positions.
Boom!
Their clash erupted immediately as they charged toward each other, beginning the long-awaited battle between the two former comrades.
