Chapter 662 - Chapter 530

The bridge of the Celestial Pearl hummed with the soft thrum of ancient technology. Bianca stood at the main console, her hands flying across the holographic displays with the manic energy of a woman possessed. Her grease-stained overalls were smudged with fresh engine fluid, and her magnifying goggles were pushed up on her forehead, reflecting the soft blue glow of the screens. Her waist-length black hair had escaped its messy bun entirely, cascading down her back in wild tangles.

Galit stood beside her, his long neck held in that loose S-curve that allowed him to survey the entire console without moving his body. His sharp emerald eyes darted across the displays, cataloging every symbol, every reading, every flickering indicator. His tactical slate was tucked under his arm, forgotten.

Suspended in the shimmering wake of Michi's light-woven avatar, Charlie resonated with a surgically pedantic cadence, transmuting every utterance into a grandiose symposium. An antiquated sun-helmet crowned him with immaculate symmetry, while his tactical harness swelled to the point of rupture, gorged on archaic parchments and dense, leather-bound tomes.

"Ahem! I must say, this is a remarkable system. The interface alone suggests a level of technological advancement that—"

Michi's holographic form flickered with annoyance. The pilot AI's arms were crossed, his expression one of pure, unadulterated superiority. His sleek, confident posture radiated dismissive arrogance.

"I am a pilot," Michi interrupted, his voice flat. "Not a historian. If you wish to discuss the cultural implications of our navigation systems, I suggest you find someone who cares."

Charlie blinked, his voice carrying a note of mild offense. "I was merely—"

"You were merely wasting my time. I have more important matters to attend to. Like monitoring the structural integrity of this vessel. Which, I might add, is currently compromised due to the incompetence of its previous operators."

Donna's voice rose from somewhere behind them, indignant. "We are NOT incompetent! We just—we just—"

"Made a series of catastrophic errors that resulted in a crash landing on an unknown planet," Michi finished, his voice dry. "Yes. Very competent."

Galit's fingers moved across the console, his brow furrowed as he traced a glowing path across the holographic display. "I wonder how this works," he muttered, more to himself than anyone else.

Michi's head whipped around, his holographic form flickering with alarm. "What are you doing?"

Galit looked up, his voice flat. "I am attempting a course correction."

Michi shook his head, his expression one of barely contained exasperation. "Not that way. You're going to—" He gestured sharply at the display, his fingers tracing a different path. "You need to account for the gravitational anomalies in this region. The planet's magnetic field is interfering with the navigation systems. If you plot a course without factoring that in—"

"I'm factoring it in," Galit interrupted, his voice carrying that sharp, intelligent edge.

"Clearly you're not. Look—" Michi's fingers moved across the display, his holographic form leaning forward. "You need to calibrate the inertial dampeners first. Then you account for the planetary rotation. THEN you plot the course. It's basic navigation. Even a child could understand it."

Galit's jaw tightened. "I am not a child."

"You're acting like one."

Bianca's voice cut through the tension, bright and triumphant. "So, like, I think I got it!"

Everyone turned to look at her. Bianca stood at the console, her hands raised in a gesture of victory, her face beaming with pride. She spun to face the group, with characteristic, breathless excitement.

"So, like, it looks like there was, like, some space debris and stuff. It like clogged some stuff and ripped through a sail too. So, like, I'm going to check out the engines, but this should be, like, an easy fix."

Michi's holographic form flickered, his voice flat. "Your assessment is consistent with my scans."

Bianca beamed. "Like, awesome!"

Marya and Aurélie watched from the back of the bridge, their expressions unreadable. Marya's golden eyes swept the room, cataloging every detail, every interaction. Aurélie's steel-gray eyes were fixed on the console, her hand resting on Anathema's hilt.

Marya's voice was flat, deliberate. "How long?"

Bianca turned, her brow furrowing as she considered the question. "Like, not real sure. I like need to check out the engine and stuff. Could be a few hours. Could be, like, a day. Depends on, like, what I find."

As if on cue, a series of soft blue lights began to glow along the corridor, illuminating a path that led deeper into the ship.

Michi gestured toward the glowing path, his voice flat. "Follow the lights. They will guide you to the engine room."

Bianca's face lit up. "Like, cool!"

She spun on her heel and disappeared down the corridor, her boots echoing against the gleaming floor. The blue lights pulsed softly, guiding her path.

Marya nodded, turning on her heels. Her voice carried the weight of command. "I'm going back to the sub. Call with an update when you have something."

Aurélie fell into step beside her. "I will accompany you."

They made their way through the gleaming corridors of the Celestial Pearl, past the Treasure Saloon with its gilded accents and accumulated pirate-booty decor, past the Gravity Tube with its spiraling patterns and soft blue glow. The ship hummed around them, a living entity with its own heartbeat.
