Chapter 666 - Chapter 532

The deck of the Celestial Pearl gleamed under the afternoon sun, its polished black surface reflecting the endless blue of the sky and sea. Galit stood at the center of the group, his long neck held in that loose S-curve that allowed him to survey everyone without moving his body. His sharp emerald eyes darted across the faces of Donna, Jeny, and Chad, who stood before him in various states of confusion.

"The course I've plotted," Galit began, "will allow you to get back on track with your original trajectory. I've found a path through the White-White Sea that should avoid any further—"

Michi's holographic form flickered to life beside him, his arms crossed, his expression one of pure, unadulterated superiority. "What he means to say is that I have calculated the optimal route through the atmospheric anomalies. Without my assistance, he would still be—"

Galit shot him a glare that could have melted steel. "As I was saying," he continued, his voice flat, "the path I plotted accounts for the gravitational fluctuations and magnetic field disruptions. You should be able to—"

Michi's voice cut through again, dismissive and condescending. "He's being modest. I did most of the work. He simply—"

"MICHI." Galit's snapped with absolute authority. "I am speaking."

Michi's holographic form flickered with what might have been annoyance, but he fell silent.

Donna, Jeny, and Chad nodded in unison, their faces blank masks of confusion. Donna's platinum-blonde hair was still a disaster of tangles, but she had managed to find a fresh tube of lip gloss somewhere. Jeny's zebra-print dress was still torn across the shoulder, but she had reapplied her lipstick with the determination of a woman who refused to let a crisis ruin her aesthetic. Chad's oversized white turtleneck was still splattered with grease, but he had somehow found a snack to munch on.

"So, like," Donna said, her voice hesitant, "we just—we just follow the path? And we'll be back in space? Like, actual space?"

Galit nodded. "Yes. The White-White Sea is the boundary between the Blue Sea and the space beyond. I've calculated the—"

Charlie, standing to the side, was aggressively writing notes. His pen scratched against the parchment with the fury of a man who had just discovered the secrets of the universe, with a scholarly tone as he muttered to himself.

"Fascinating. Absolutely fascinating. The gravitational anomalies—the magnetic field disruptions—the—"

Jannali shot him a look, her voice flat. "Mate, can you keep it down? Some of us are trying to hear."

Charlie looked up, his face flushing with embarrassment. "Oh! I apologize! I was just—this information is incredibly valuable! The implications for our understanding of—"

"Charlie," Galit interrupted, with warning. "Focus."

Charlie nodded, but his pen continued its frantic dance across the parchment.

Bō-Zak sauntered closer to Donna, his gold-flecked eyes gleaming with that familiar, flirtatious spark. His voice was smooth, philosophical, with that lazy cadence that made everything sound like a proposition.

"Of course, if you ever find yourself in need of a guide through the stars, I would be more than happy to—"

Jannali grabbed him by the collar, yanking him back with practiced ease. "Not now, lover boy."

Bō-Zak sighed, with theatrical suffering. "I was merely offering assistance. Friendly assistance. There's nothing wrong with—"

"You were flirting," Jannali interrupted, her voice flat. "Badly."

"I was being charming. There's a difference."

Donna blushed, her hand flying to her chest. "Oh my god, like, he's so—"

"Don't encourage him," Jannali warned. "He doesn't need it."

Atlas chuckled from the side, his rust-red fur bristling with amusement. His blue eyes gleamed with a feral, taunting edge. "This is the most entertainment I've had in weeks. Please, continue."

Bianca walked onto the deck, wiping her hands on a grease-stained rag. Her waist-length black hair was a wild mess of tangles, and her magnifying goggles were pushed up on her forehead. Her grease-stained overalls were smudged with fresh engine fluid, and her face was streaked with grease. She beamed at the group, her voice bright and triumphant.

"So, like, I fixed the engine and stuff. You should be like good to go."

Atlas nodded, "Sounds like they're ready to go." He started for the door, with a note of urgency. "I'll go get the kids before Jelly eats all their supplies."

Bianca's face lit up as she launched into an explanation. "So, like, I had to like reroute the power conduits and like recalibrate the phase couplers and like—"

Donna, Jeny, and Chad nodded in unison, their faces still blank masks of confusion. Donna's voice was hesitant. "So, like, it's fixed? We can go?"

Bianca nodded. "Like, yeah. It's, like, fixed. You're, like, good to go."

Michi's holographic form flickered, his voice flat and dismissive. "Her assessment is correct. The systems are fully operational. I have verified them myself."

Donna's face lit up with relief. "Oh my god. Like, actually? We can go? We can see our friends? We can—"

Chad's voice was cautious with hope. "We're not going to die? Like, actually not going to die?"

Jeny's was breathless with excitement. "This is the best day ever! Like, literally the best day ever! We crashed through space and survived and now we're going back and—"

Galit pulled his transponder snail from his pocket and pressed the receiver button. His voice was flat, deliberate. "Marya. The ship has been repaired. We're prepping to depart."

Marya's voice emerged from the snail, calm and measured. "Affirmative. As soon as you wrap up there, we'll be on our way."

Galit nodded, even though she couldn't see him. "Copy. On our way."

He hung up, pocketing the snail.

Bō-Zak was still busy flirting with Donna and Jeny. "You know, if you ever find yourself in need of a companion for your travels, I would be more than happy to—"

Jannali grabbed him by the collar, yanking him toward the exit. "Come on, lover boy. Time to go."

Bō-Zak protested, his voice rising with theatrical indignation. "But I was just getting to know them! I was being—"

"You were being a menace," Jannali interrupted, her voice flat. "Now move."

Bō-Zak allowed himself to be dragged away, his smirk firmly in place. "This is not the end. I will return. The stars themselves will bring us together again."

Jannali's voice was flat. "Mate, the stars have better things to do."

Bianca was typing something into the console, her fingers flying across the holographic display. Her voice bright and breathless. "So, like, I have the auto set up and stuff. You should be like back in space in like thirty minutes."

Michi's holographic form flickered, his voice flat. "Her calculations are correct. The automated systems will guide us through the White-White Sea and into the Bafana Nebula."

Donna, Jeny, and Chad exchanged excited glances. Donna's voice was breathless. "We're going back to space. Like, actually going back to space."

Jeny nodded, her voice filled with wonder. "We're going to see our friends. We're going to—"

Chad's was cautious with optimism. "We're going to survive. Like, actually survive."

Bianca waved as she made her way off the bridge with cheerful farewell. "Like, good luck! Like, have fun in space! Don't forget to like send me a postcard or whatever!"

Donna' was grateful. "Thank you! Like, seriously! Thank you so much!"
