Although they had two separate rooms, Silvan and Alessio ended up sleeping on the Vampire's bed, night after night. Their return was delayed to two days, but it barely made a difference because they were still leaving early.
"You look happy," Rolfe said quietly to Silvan, sounding like he almost couldn't believe it.
Silvan glanced over at Alexander, who was giving Alessio daggers to bend and snap, an almost childlike excitement in his eyes as he watched the destruction of finely crafted weapons. "I am happy," He corrected gently.
Rolfe nodded, he had personally come out to see them off, and they had been gathered around the carriage for a while now. It was almost like they didn't want to let Silvan go. "That's good. Send your old father more letters, will you? I worry," He asked, finding it easier and easier to speak to his son.
