Hearing that, all of us were stunned.
Uncle Qian and his wife's expressions immediately changed.
Li Yuxin, being a protective child, looked very displeased after hearing that scrawny man's words and immediately retorted:
"Who are you calling an old bastard?"
"Yuxin!" Uncle Qian quickly scolded her, then slowly stood up from the ground and asked the scrawny man suspiciously:
"Are you talking to us?"
The burly man impatiently gave him a sideways glance and said:
"Who else would I be talking to? Hurry up and take those two brats and get out. No one ever told you you're not allowed here after dark? And you still dare to drag your whole damn family here?"
At those words, Uncle Qian and his wife froze for a moment, then hesitantly looked at me:
"Girl… what do you think…"
"Wait, wait." I waved my hand at them and said:
"I don't really get what you mean. What do you mean by 'not allowed here'? They are my guests. What business is it of yours what they do in my place?"
"Miss Chen, it seems you don't really understand the situation." The scrawny man glanced at me with disdain, sneered, and said:
"First of all, this isn't your house. You and everyone else here are just permitted to stay here. Secondly—" He pointed at Uncle Qian and his family:
"—these people weren't allowed to enter Section Six. Just a friendly reminder: don't bring this kind of riffraff here again. Otherwise, it'll be troublesome for us, and you'll only be asking for trouble yourselves."
"Riffraff?" Aunt Qian repeated his words in disbelief, her voice sharp.
"What do you mean riffraff? How are we riffraff? What is that supposed to mean?"
The scrawny man looked at her impatiently and snapped:
"So much nonsense! When we tell you to get out, you get out. Don't drag it out. Lived all these years and you still don't know what riffraff means? Go ask someone else if they know, then come tell me. For now—get out, now!"
Seeing this, Aunt Qian wanted to argue further, but Uncle Qian pulled her back, shook his head helplessly, and said:
"Let's just go back."
"Grandpa, he's insulting us!" Li Yuxin protested, tugging on his arm.
Hearing that, Uncle Qian only let out a heavy sigh.
It seemed like he wanted to say something, but in the end, he kept silent.
He just waved to me, then pulled his wife and the two children away.
As they passed by the burly man, his previously smiling face suddenly twisted.
He spat at Uncle Qian with a loud ptoo!
I couldn't stand it anymore.
Their harsh words were one thing, but now they were bullying us to our faces—stepping all over us like we were nothing!
This was intolerable.
My anger flared to its peak the instant that spit landed on him.
Taking a deep breath, I clenched my fists, stormed forward in a few strides, and without another word, raised my foot to kick that smug bastard—only to be yanked back at the last second by Yangyang and Jun Di.
"Let me go, damn it! Watch me kick this bastard to death today! What the hell does he think he is—just because he's wearing a shabby uniform he thinks he's somebody? Spitting at an old man? What, you don't have a father or mother? If you've got guts, why don't you go out there and fight the walkers? What kind of man spits at elders?!"
Xu Shu and Shen Feng rushed over to help hold me back.
But the more they pulled, the angrier I got.
Watching Uncle Qian trembling all over, too afraid to make a sound, only fueled my rage.
My glare at that burly man was sharp enough to cut him down.
"Who the hell are you cursing at?!" The burly man had been stunned by my rapid string of curses, but once he snapped back to his senses, he rolled up his sleeves in fury and prepared to rush at me.
"What the hell are you doing?! You planning to hit her?!" Zhou Wen and Taozi immediately rolled up their sleeves and charged over as well.
"I'm cursing at you, damn it! You're nothing! All you know how to do is throw your weight around—what kind of skill is that?!"
Seeing that I wouldn't be able to land my kick, I stopped resisting their pull.
Instead, I pushed Yangyang and Jun Di aside, planted my hands on my hips, and let loose a full-on street-style barrage of curses right at them.
"You must have a death wish!" The burly man was clearly enraged by me, his face turning red as he tried to charge me, but the people around him grabbed him back.
Then someone muttered:
"She belongs to Boss Suo."
That was the only thing that managed to cool him down a little.
He stayed put, but continued to glare at me with venom in his eyes.
The lean man's face was also filled with displeasure.
After staring at me for a moment, he spoke coldly:
"Miss Chen, the reason we've been talking to you nicely here is out of respect for Boss Suo. Don't mistake our courtesy for weakness—don't push your luck, woman."
Hearing this, I froze for a second.
Then I immediately felt a rush of fury so hot I nearly spewed fire at him.
"You call this talking nicely? You can't even string together a single decent human sentence! You barge in here telling this one to get out and that one to roll—why don't you roll out yourselves? A bunch of idiots! And spitting at Uncle Qian—shameless bastards, the lot of you!"
"Enough with your filthy mouth! If you keep pushing your luck, I don't care whose woman you are—I'll put a bullet in you, believe it or not!" The lean man exploded too, yanking out his gun, cocking it with a click, and aiming it straight at us.
The sight of the gun made me falter, but staring at the disgusting, arrogant looks on their faces, I just couldn't swallow my anger.
Suddenly, I lunged at him, reaching to grab the gun—but before my hand could even touch it, the big brute reacted and kicked me viciously in the stomach.
The blow was so strong it left me gasping in pain, clutching my belly as I collapsed to the ground.
"You bastard, you actually hit a woman!" Taozi shrieked in disbelief, then immediately shouted:
"Zhou Wen! Get them for me!"
"You dared to hit my sister!"
"You dared to hit Chen Yang!"
"You bastards, how dare you lay a hand on Miss Chen!"
After a round of furious cursing, I felt a group of our people rush forward from behind me, hurling themselves at Team T.
Even Xu Shu and Han Xue joined in, each grabbing hold of one of their members.
The big brute and his companions were caught off guard; by the time they realized what was happening, Shen Feng and the others had already pinned several of them down.
In an instant, the room was filled with shouting, cursing, and the sounds of struggle.
Han Xue's sharp screams and the terrified wails of the children mixed into the chaos, turning the whole place into a complete uproar.
The lean man waved his gun around, pointing it at one person and then another, his expression dark as thunder.
But he never dared to pull the trigger.
I was certain he wouldn't fire—after all, we had come here under Suo Tian's lead.
Their goal today was mainly to intimidate us, not to recklessly take a life.
Gradually, Team T began to recover and fought back.
The clash quickly escalated into an all-out brawl.
I joined in, grabbing whoever I could and hitting them with everything I had.
Still, neither side drew knives—everyone knew full well that spilling blood was no joke.
But Team T were professionals, trained fighters.
Our side started to take heavy hits.
Zhou Wen and Shen Feng had some skill, but they were badly outnumbered.
The rest of us were either old, weak, injured, or women with little strength.
Seeing us pushed back, my teeth ground with rage.
The thought of that brutal kick I'd taken only made the fire in my chest burn hotter.
Just as I was racking my brain for a way to turn the fight, the tightly shut door was suddenly kicked open from the outside.
Before we could react, a flood of people surged in, instantly packing the already cramped room.
Suo Tian was the last to enter.
The big brute and his men, who had been grappling with us, instantly froze when they saw him.
Their faces changed, and they hurriedly withdrew, moving quickly to stand beside a man in a white lab coat who had entered with Suo Tian.
I quickly helped Han Xue and Xu Shu up from the ground.
After making sure they weren't seriously hurt, I straightened and met Suo Tian's gaze head-on.
He was staring directly at me.
"What the hell is going on here? What are you all doing?" The speaker was a bearded man standing at Suo Tian's side.
Behind him stood half a squad of Team C in black uniforms, and the other half in Team T's dark-blue uniforms.
The room fell silent.
No one answered right away.
After a long pause, Li Yuxin—who had been shielded by Aunt Qian the whole time—suddenly pushed her aside, stepped forward, and pointed at the big brute.
"That man insulted us and even spat on my grandpa. Sister Chen fought back against them."
As soon as she finished speaking, the T-sister standing by the door immediately frowned and asked:
"Why are these people showing up in Section Six?"
The skinny man beside her quickly responded:
"We're here to handle this matter. If they won't cooperate, there's nothing we can do."
Han Xue, who was still rubbing her forehead, jumped up the moment she heard the man's words and cursed at him:
"Go to hell with that! What was that attitude just now? They were already leaving, and you still spat at them—aren't you just asking for a beating?!"
"Alright, alright, enough shouting. You all can make more noise than me. Such a small matter and you've turned it upside down. Those who need to leave should just leave. Miss Chen, I'll be honest with you—why's your temper so explosive? These T-team brothers are just following the rules. You can't just go head-to-head with them like that."
As the bearded man's words fell, the man in the white coat chuckled and spoke:
"Alright, let's not ruin the mood over something so minor. Just let them head back. Rules are dead, people are alive. You few shouldn't be so stiff-headed next time. These people are guests of Boss Suo, you can't treat them with such disrespect."
His words were polite in form, but though he was smiling, there wasn't a trace of politeness in his tone.
On the contrary, it faintly carried a hint of impatience.
The moment the man in the white coat finished speaking, Suo Tian, who had been staring at me in silence all along, suddenly opened his mouth slowly:
"Who threw the first punch?"
