Keith and Roelgenheld have traveled through for five days on the wasteland. The two corss their legs taking a seat.
"Brat, this only the start of this." Roelgenheld rubs his ankle. A ugly looking red rash that is on it. Keith raises a eye brow his face turns sad with a hint of cold turn on his face.
"You look like you seen ghost" Keith eyes widen up slightly as he takes a slight gulp.
"Old man..." few moments of slicence pass by the air thickens.
"What is it Brat?" Roelgenheld eyebrows and his mouth narrow down, looks down at his bruising ankle.
"Crap, I hope the kid didn't notice the rash"
Roelgenheld thought to himself while scratching the side of his own forehead.
A tiny amount of skin comes off leaving the boy in shock. "I think we should rest for the night it has been getting late." Roelgenheld turns his head at him looking a little bit of shock. "This boy is surprisingly making a each choice of his own." Roelgenheld thought to himself gradually laying down on his back.
Hours pass as the two set up camp as the Moonlight shines over the fire. The wind breeze gets louder. Keith toss and turns as he shivers holding his arms crossed.
"Sometimes wishing what the old man is tying to say about this free will stuff." Keith thought to himself looking up, hoping to know what this world offers, slowly shutting his eyes as the thoughts drift.
Few hours go by, the glaring sun flare shines through the trees glaring onto the boy cheek,
slowly waking up checking his surroundings.
Keith looks around the camp for a few minutes to notice Roelgenheld not close by signs he went off to do something.
"Hmmm, I wonder where the old man would have gone off to."
Keith thought to himself as he looking around for any tracks.
Some bushes begin to rustle bringing it to Keith attention.
"I brought us some breakfast."
Roelgenheld yells while he comes out of the bushes bringing some caught fish.
Keith sighs in relief, then begins gather some branches to set up the fire. " least your not completely useless brat." Roelgenheld lights up the fire, letting out a joyful laught seeing Keith trying to a useful to be a help.
"What time did you even get?" Looking a bit puzzled wondering on the how Roelgenheld has so much energy for someone that looks frail-looking let full of strength.
"Well I'll have enough energy till the day when I'm destined to die" Roelgenheld joyful smile slowly goes down.
Both of them look into the fire as there deep in thought, hearing it flicker till Keith looks up sighing.
"What do you mean till the to the day when you are destined to die?" Roelgenheld looks up, eyes widen to Keith question. "Well you are at that age where you should know about somethings in this world." Roelgenheld sighs rubbing his forehead with his eyes being closed.
"In this world people have mana within them to do great things, either they physically move faster, do range attacks or even summoning beast of there own." Roelgenheld softly chuckles.
"Till when there the date comes when there mana ruins out." Keith gulps hearing thus new found information.
Roelgenheld slowly sharpens his blade, pounding if he made the right choice on telling how the power works in this world.
Keith sighs responding.
"Well, what makes me different from the rest of the world?"
Keith looks down sad catching his mentor by surprise.
Roelgenheld softly smiles placing his hand on Keith shoulder giving him a feeling of reinsurance. "What makes you different?"
Roelgenheld asks himself to find a answer.
"I believe, that you will be able to change this world with all in your own."
Keith eyes widen in shock hearing this and ask. "Why do you believe that?" Seeing Roelgenheld chuckles to this question that the boy asks him. "The reason why is.... I think you are not bound by the fates if this world." Roelgenheld chuckles.
"I see you'll become a man that can actually take the time to think and make the right decision." Keith looks up to him gaining a new found prespetptive.
Rubbing his forehead together thinking trying to see this new found perspective, but he fails to see since it is new to him.
"Learning takes time you will understand once your older." Roelgenheld said with reinsurance.
Keith looking up asking, "do you really mean that?" Wondering if there is some truth to Roelgenheld words.
"Once in a lifetime I mean that believe with my heart." He says smiling looking down at there knees. They both feels this new sense of wonder not even the words would be able to explain it. "I think we should start going while the sun is up." Roelgenheld starts to pack some his things while Keith follows.
Roelgenheld opens up a raggedy dirt map, observing on how close they are to the destination. "In I'll say we'll get to the land of the Elves within two-days max." He puts the map into a black leather carrier bag.
Roelgenheld moves forward and Keith just follows him wondering on what these Elves are like.
After of a few hours of traveling, they make it to a forest bioam getting out of the dessert.
Keith looks around picking up something that feels familiar. "Those are black roses!" Roelgenheld screams as he takes more a good look at it. "I feel like I'm drawn to them"
Keith says with he twirls around the flower.
A thorn from the rose prices into Keith finger. Black blood comes right out the index finger, giving a surprised look, making him freeze up for a bit. Roelgenheld takes notice of it.
"Everyone bleeds different there no need to show any fear." Roelgenheld pulls out a knife cutting the palm of his hand, a orange blood pooring out. The boy calms himself down seeing a different blood color then his own.
"Dam, is it really my time to come so soon?"
Roelgenheld thought to himself looking down at his palm. Hours of the day go by as the sun sets on the horizon.
Camp set's-up as the bright sky begins to get a little darker. "Old man why do we need to make camp every night as the sun goes down?"
Keith asking having his arms crossed together. "Well that is a good question to ask. Which the only answer that I can give to you is that proper rest." Roelgenheld replied.
"Proper rest?" Keith asked.
"Think about like this" Roelgenheld says enthusiastically. "Without proper rest you wouldn't be at full strength and a brat like you needs alot of it. The moment you get to my age you would need less of it." Keith takes these words into consideration, as he lays down closing his eyes slowly resting.
Minutes pass by Keith asleep but Roelgenheld thinks to himself "I'm sorry brat." He lays down drifting off to sleep.
Dawns starts a new day Keith waking up full of energy rushing towards Roelgenheld with a smile. "Old man I'm well rested and ready to get going so you have to wake up." As Keith shakes him there's no movement.
"Okay old man good joke but you need to wake up" shakes more aggressive but there's still no movement.
He kneels down, shaking Rogenheild said in a cracking voice filled with sadness "Old man please wake up." Crying his eyes out he feels left alone.
