Chapter 194 - Truth of Remembrance

"Eeek!"

"Wh-what is that?! Why is there some weird mirror-creep in there?!"

The moment March 7th's gaze met Fuli's within the mirror, her face flooded with shock. A yelp escaped her lips as her fingers instinctively tightened around Yuki's arm, seeking comfort and support.

Hearing this, Yuki had to fight back a smile.

She just called Fuli a weird mirror-creep. If she ever finds out this "creep" is her own father... would she still say that?

The thought amused him, but he kept his composure, maintaining his usual calm demeanor.

"He's not some creep," Yuki explained simply. "He's an Aeon of this universe—Fuli, the Aeon who presides over the Path of Remembrance."

March 7th blinked, her gradient eyes filling with confusion.

"Uh... what's an Aeon?"

Having lost all memories of her past—including her own name—she was unfamiliar with the term. Fuli's sealing of her memories had been cleverly done, though; it hadn't stripped away her basic common sense, so she wasn't reduced to infant-like ignorance.

"Explaining it in detail would take too long," Yuki said. "You'll understand eventually. For now, just think of Aeons as the gods of this universe."

That simple comparison gave March 7th, who still possessed basic common sense, enough to grasp the concept.

"Oh! So they're gods!" She nodded slightly, seeming to understand.

Then her eyes widened.

"Wait a second! Why is a god coming after us?! Are we the bad guys?!"

She tensed again, glaring warily at Fuli in the mirror, adopting a defensive stance.

"I-I'm warning you!" she stammered. "Don't come any closer! Sure, I've lost my memory, but... I'm not someone to mess with, either! See this guy next to me?! He... he's super strong!"

Her voice wavered as she weakly threatened Fuli, all while subtly shrinking behind Yuki. Her confidence was clearly shaky. The chat members had told her Yuki was powerful, but she had no real sense of how powerful. She had no idea how he'd stack up against this mirror-god.

"Are you an idiot?" Yuki shook his head, exasperated.

Even Fuli, within the mirror, seemed momentarily at a loss for words, silently observing the two.

"You're the idiot!" March 7th shot back instantly.

Yuki sighed. "Didn't I just tell you? Everything about your past—your identity—is connected to this being right here. He's not an enemy."

He spoke calmly, his gaze fixed on Fuli.

Yuki already understood why Fuli had come.

In truth, the moment Yuki had set up his shielding barrier and broken March 7th's seal, Fuli had sensed it. But Yuki's barrier was too powerful—Fuli couldn't locate them at all. He couldn't perceive or observe his own daughter; it was as if she had been erased from the universe entirely. And that unsettled him.

So, the instant Yuki dismissed the barrier, Fuli rushed to this location.

Seeing his daughter freed from the seal he himself had placed, Fuli understood—his plans had been disrupted.

"Being from beyond fate... why have you come here?" Fuli finally spoke, his voice calm yet majestic. He carried himself like an emperor—serene, commanding, every word imbued with authority.

"Uh... is he talking about you?" March 7th whispered, poking Yuki's side hesitantly.

Yuki ignored her, facing Fuli with an unruffled demeanor.

"Why I'm here is none of your concern. All you need to know is that she is the reason."

Though Fuli's presence was imposing, it barely registered with Yuki. His power vastly exceeded Fuli's, and he had encountered beings far more majestic. Moreover, in terms of status, Yuki—Lord of the Multiverse, sovereign over all existence—stood infinitely higher than Fuli, an Aeon of Remembrance.

"She..." Fuli understood Yuki meant his daughter.

Though Fuli's crystalline form lacked a face, his tone softened at the mention of March 7th.

Even March 7th could sense the shift in his voice. Had his body not been composed of translucent, shimmering crystal, one might imagine a gentle, guilt-ridden expression forming.

"He... gives me such a strange feeling..." March 7th's chest tightened with an inexplicable ache. Her face grew anxious, and she clutched Yuki's arm tighter.

"Of course. You're deeply connected to him." Yuki smiled, gently patting her hand in reassurance.

Then he turned to Fuli, a knowing smile playing on his lips. "Do you want me to explain, or will you do it yourself? If I tell her, I'll reveal everything—every last detail. Is that alright?"

His words carried a subtle edge, almost like a threat.

Fuli was silent for a long moment. Then, slowly, he sighed—a heavy, ancient sound, laden with centuries of weariness and sorrow.

"Child... your memories were sealed by me. Your imprisonment was my doing."

Fuli confessed openly. It was he who had taken her memories, he who had frozen her in crystal.

March 7th's face twisted in anger and confusion.

"Why?! You're an Aeon! Why would you do this to someone like me?!" She released Yuki's arm, planting her hands on her hips, glaring at Fuli with indignation.

Fuli did not take offense. He accepted her anger quietly, as though it were simply his burden to bear.

"I had no choice, my child. After everything that happened... your emotions, your thoughts—they remained frozen on that day. As your father, I could only make you forget. Forget it all. Forget who you were. And let you begin a new life."

His voice trembled with anguish, as if he were reliving that moment even now.

"You... what?! Father?! You're... you're my father?!"

March 7th's expression froze for a moment. Then her pupils contracted sharply, disbelief flooding her face.

The sheer weight of this revelation left her utterly stunned.
