Artemisia led Yuki through a few streets until they arrived in front of a towering skyscraper. This building was unmistakable the most prominent structure in all of Tokyo, one that even stole the spotlight from Tokyo Tower: the Infinity Corporation headquarters.
"I work here, so I live in the building," Artemisia casually explained, seeing Yuki take a moment to look at the building.
There was a hint of pride in her voice as she showed off her workplace. After all, Infinity Corporation was a world-renowned giant—an enormous enterprise with deep pockets and powerful backing. Every working person dreamed of landing a job there. So naturally, Artemisia felt proud.
Of course, she wasn't trying to brag. She was just being her usual straightforward and airheaded self. By telling him this, she was also trying to send a subtle signal: I have a good job. I'm well-off.
Why was she doing that? Simple she had fallen for Yuki the moment she laid eyes on him. Artemisia loved reading, especially romance novels aimed at young women. He wondered what her reaction would be if he told her he was actually the hidden owner of Infinity Corporation. Then again, without proof, she'd probably think he was just bluffing—and laugh it off.
Artemisia led him through a facial recognition scan, and they entered the company's ground floor lobby. Even though work hours were over, the bright, spacious, multi-story atrium was still bustling with people coming and going. It was clear they were all either working late or on shift.
Artemisia's appearance quickly drew the attention of a few employees. But just as they were about to greet the company's ace magician, they noticed Yuki beside her. Seeing Artemisia holding his hand like that—so intimately—they immediately understood the nature of their relationship. Wisely, they chose not to intrude.
After crossing the lobby, Artemisia led Yuki to a private elevator, used facial recognition, and they stepped inside.
"You really didn't have to bring me all the way here to wash it. I could just take it home and clean it myself," Yuki let out a soft sigh and spoke gently in the confined space of the elevator.
But Artemisia stood her ground. "No. I caused this, so I take full responsibility." Her tone was firm and serious.
Seeing how determined she was, Yuki didn't argue further. He turned his gaze to the view outside the elevator. The sun had fully set, and night had blanketed the sky. The bustling city had transformed into another scene of vibrant energy. Neon lights of every color flickered across the urban landscape. From this height, looking down over the entire city, the view was breathtaking.
With a soft ding, the elevator doors slid open.
"We're here. Come on, Yuki-kun!" Artemisia took his hand again and led him out into the corridor to the left.
She lived on the 45th floor of the Infinity Corporation building. And she wasn't alone—many of the company's other magicians resided on this floor as well. As Artemisia pulled Yuki down the hallway, they passed several of her colleagues. They were all young women—average looks, but Yuki could clearly sense magical energy emanating from them. Their identities were obvious: they were magicians of the company. Of course, their magical power was nowhere near the level of Ellen or Artemisia.
When they spotted their ace magician, Artemisia, they immediately came over to say hello—and noticed Yuki being dragged along beside her.
"Captain, is this your boyfriend? He's so handsome!" "Who would've thought the captain, who always seems so indifferent, is actually hiding such a handsome boyfriend behind the scenes? Props to you!" "Captain, can I steal your boyfriend? Haha... just kidding, don't take it seriously!"
The group of magicians crowded around Artemisia, chattering noisily and overflowing with curiosity about the boyfriend she had apparently brought home. As the company's ace magician, Artemisia was the leader of their squad, responsible for managing the team. Really? How do you manage to be so natural about kneeling in front of a guy like this?
But this time was different. She wasn't reaching for a tissue. Instead, her hands went straight for the waistband of his pants. It didn't take a genius to figure out what she intended.
"Whoa, hold on!" Yuki tried to stop her, but Artemisia didn't hesitate—she yanked his pants down in one swift motion.
Yuki pressed a hand to his forehead, completely stunned by her boldness.
Wow... just... wow. He didn't even know how to describe what he was feeling right now.
Seeing the bright red boxer briefs underneath, Artemisia's cheeks flushed crimson. "I-I'll go wash these for you. Maybe you'd like to take a shower first?" she suggested, then quickly turned and ran deeper into the apartment.
Yuki opened his mouth to refuse, but hesitated. In the end, he sighed and headed toward the bathroom.
