Kai's POV
"Kai?" That voice echoed and lingered in my head longer than I expected.
My body stiffened for the second time. My blood turned cold. I couldn't move a finger. My breathing has become entangled.
Behind me was the woman I was trying to avoid.
Did she see me? She did. It was proven by how she called my name even if she was unsure about it.
"I think it's you," she said, almost a whisper. "C-Can you…turn around?"
My fists balled as I remained seated on my chair, refusing to move.
There's no way I'd admit that it's me.
Should I just pretend that I'm someone else?
I can't let her know that I'm alive. But how can I prove that I'm not the Kai she was talking about.

I gritted my teeth and glared at the nosy co-worker.
Her lips parted when she saw me glaring.
My heartbeat doubled. This shouldn't happen. Why did the world seem to become smaller?
