Remain dead.
Is it really the only way for things to get better? To remain dead. To stay hidden. To become just a painful memory the people I love would visit whenever they feel sad for me?
I stared at the busy road in front of me.
The people around seemed distant. The sound of the cars' engines seemed fading.
It's like everything and everyone else in the world is disappearing and I'm the only one left to survive and carry on with this useless life.
I palmed my face as I inhaled sharply.
They're waiting in front of my apartment, Edward said.
Instead of going home, I turned around.
Once again, I made a complicated choice. Stay dead.
My whole day passed like a blur. Like a strong wind and a cruel storm that didn't want to destroy me, but to torment me. To prolong my agony. To make my fears live longer in my heart.
"Excuse me…"
I lifted my face and looked at the woman who just approached me.
