Chapter 281-282 – The Motivated Senior

[POV Change]

The queen's office in the royal castle was quiet.

It was the middle of the night, and everyone else was asleep. But Iril remained at her post. Her face was etched with anxiety, and her thumbnails were bitten down from nervous habit.

Even after sighing to the floor, her worries did not ease. She spoke to the chief justice, who sat nearby.

"Kiella… Dayke hasn't returned at this hour. Could something have happened to the knights?"

"There's nothing we can do right now. Let's wait calmly. They aren't just any elves—they are the knights under the Queen's direct command. Nothing will happen to them," Kiella replied, trying to sound calm.

She had also been anxiously awaiting news from the knights and had remained at her post until now.

"Mother…"

"Baby, Kiella is right. Let's wait a little longer. I'm sure they are fine," Nermedia said while holding her daughter and offering comfort.

Just then, a voice came through the door.

-Queen! The knights are back!

"Really?"

Iril felt a rush of relief at hearing the announcement.

But the relief was short-lived. An ominous aura quickly filled the office again as Agnes and Rize entered. Their expressions were grim.

"I'm glad you both returned safely. But where is Dayke…?"

"That is…"

[POV Change]

"Dayke and Fine went missing because of a monster?"

"…Yes. We thought the monster was dead and were caught off guard when the monster retaliated. The monster has been completely defeated, but we don't know where Dayke and Fine went," Agnes explained.

"That can't be possible…"

"We searched the entire area until now but couldn't find them. I'm sorry…"

The unexpected news brought a heavy, depressing silence to the office. At a moment when no one could speak, Kiella was the first to break the silence.

"Agnes, have you searched every place you could reach?"

"We searched everywhere except for one or two inaccessible areas. However, it's more likely that they were transported to another world in the first place."

"Ah, what should we do…?"

Finally, Iril let the tears she had been holding back fall.

While the other elves also began to cry, Kiella remained composed.

"Don't cry, little Queen."

"But…"

"Even if he went to another world, he would be fine as long as he is alive. Even if he fell into a ball of fire, he would come back as a reincarnation."

It was a completely illogical and unreasonable statement for a Supreme Court Justice to make. But no one present challenged her words. They understood that Kiella was only trying to ease their anxiety.

"We have to do what we can. Let's return to our rooms today and search again tomorrow," she continued.

The atmosphere in the office remained heavy.

Everyone had no choice but to follow Kiella's instructions and return to their rooms. Yet not a single elf was able to sleep peacefully that night.

[MC POV]

"Where… is this?"

All around me was pitch-black darkness.

Squinting through the shadows, it seemed we were in a forest. But I couldn't tell exactly where we were.

It appeared we had been teleported to an unknown location after being hit by the black sphere fired by the Gatekeeper.

"Is it night now…? How long have I been lying here?" I asked.

"I just woke up too, so…"

"Really? But why are you here, Fine?"

"I think I got caught in the sphere because I was close to you, Senior."

She explained that she had pushed away with all her strength before the sphere reached her, but it hadn't been enough.

"I see. First of all, I need to figure out where this place is… Huh?"

[The application cannot be loaded due to the influence of the Gatekeeper.]

"Now that I think about it, the black sphere also blocks the target's magical abilities."

From what I remember, the effect lasts about a day, so I'll have to wait until then to use the app.

"It's night, and it's so dark that it's difficult to explore the surroundings. I can't even use magic because of the sphere… What should I do?"

"Hmm…"

Fine and I were alone in an unknown forest. The darkness made it impossible to see our surroundings, and I couldn't use the app's abilities.

The best course of action in this situation was to stay put and avoid wandering into danger.

"Let's wait here until daybreak. Only when we can see ahead will we be able to find our way."

"Yes, I understand…"

Fine was vaguely visible in the darkness. She knelt in front of me. Her small shoulders were dropped due to anxiety.

No matter how energetic she usually was, being isolated in an unfamiliar place seemed to have frightened her.

"It's okay. It'll work out somehow. Don't be too scared," I reassured her.

"I'm not scared…"

"Then?"

"It's because I was careless. It's because of me that you ended up here. I always seem to be a nuisance to you…"

That was the only reason she seemed so down. I was surprised and didn't want to make her worry, so I lightly patted her on the shoulder.

"It's natural for a junior to receive help from a senior. I don't mind, so don't worry."

"Are you sure?"

"Really."

"You don't think I'm a bothersome elf?"

"Of course not. I never think of it that way."

"Thank you, Senior! As expected, you're the best!"

Her pitiful image of a puppy caught in the rain had vanished. In its place, she hugged me tightly, filled with excitement.

It seemed she feared being disliked by me more than being stranded in an unfamiliar place.

"This time, I'll help you! Make sure you return safely, Senior!"

Fine, after regaining her energy, jumped up. Then she shouted loudly.

She looked around carefully and, as if she had spotted something, pointed in a certain direction.

"Huh? Senior! Over there!"

"Huh?"

A small light was flickering in the direction she was pointing. As we cautiously approached, we discovered a wooden pavilion with lights attached.

"Good. There are lights and chairs. We can just wait here until sunrise."

"Senior! Did I do well?"

I patted her head gently when I saw her sparkling eyes filled with hope for praise.

"Okay, good job. Waiting will be much easier now."

"Hehe. If you need anything, please let me know!"

"Just wait patiently like this until the sun rises…"

"Senior, are you hungry?"

I had skipped breakfast this morning because it was annoying, but I realized that wasn't wise.

"I can endure it until morning. You don't have to worry."

"I'll see if I can find something to eat!"

"What? No, you don't have to!"

Fine was full of energy and determination. She dashed out of the pavilion before I could stop her.

I quickly followed, but the darkness was so thick that I could barely see ahead.

"Fine! It's dangerous, so come back!"

"It's okay, I won't go far! Huh? This is… Senior Dayke!"

"What's wrong? What's going on?"

"I'll be right back!"

We had safely met again at the pavilion. Fine waved something in her hand.

"Look at this!"

"It's a mushroom?"

Although it looked like a button mushroom, it was much larger.

Maybe it was because I was hungry, but just seeing its thick, plump shape made my mouth water.

"I picked two mushrooms, so we can eat them one at a time!"

"Still, it might be poisonous, so we have to be careful…"

"This mushroom is a safe species, so it's okay! If you're worried, I'll try it first! … Aum!"

Fine lightly brushed the dirt off the mushroom and took a big bite without hesitation.

"Umm, mmm! It's delicious, Senior! Come try it!"

"…Okay?"

It wasn't an exaggeration to say it was delicious. It was like a pizza. It was filling and satisfying with every bite.

Seeing that she was okay, I rinsed her mushrooms lightly with water from the canteen and brought them to my mouth.

"…Oh. Umm. It's okay."

They were large, chewy, and surprisingly flavorful, so eating them raw wasn't bad at all.

Thanks to this, we were able to quickly enjoy the large mushrooms as a side dish, just like something from the market.

"How was the food?"

"It was delicious. I'm less hungry. Thank you, Fine."

"Hehe… I'm glad it helped!"

"Okay, okay. That's enough. Let's stay still and not wander around."

"Yes!"

We sat comfortably on the wooden chairs in the pavilion. All we had to do now was stay put and wait until the sun rose.

I stared blankly at the forest, which was shrouded in darkness. I was silently hoping that nothing unexpected would happen.

About five minutes passed like that.

'…What is happening?'

Suddenly, my heart began pounding uncontrollably. My entire body felt like it was on fire, and sweat started pouring down.

'My body feels strange. Could it be because of the mushrooms?'

I glanced at Fine sitting next to me.

She was humming softly. She was counting the stars in the night sky with her fingers. Even though she had eaten the same mushrooms as me, she seemed completely fine.

'If she is fine, then it must be because of the mushrooms… Wait a second!'

It was only then that I remembered an important fact that I had completely forgotten.

Elves are a race blessed by nature, immune to natural poisons.

'Why did I stupidly forget that?!'

I scolded myself silently, but it didn't change the condition at all. The area where the symptoms were most intense was, of course, my crotch.

'The erection won't go down…!'

As blood rushed through my body, my dick swelled painfully. It was almost to the point of bursting.

Since I was wearing light clothing instead of armor, its shape was very noticeable. It would have been bad enough if it had stopped there.

Another side effect left by the large mushroom that looked like a button mushroom was even more troubling to me.

"Hehe…"

Fine was looking up at the night sky. She was completely unaware of anything that was happening to me.

As for me… The girl I had always seen as a cute younger sister suddenly appeared to me as a far more sexy woman than anyone else I had ever known.
