The sound of water splashing can be heard across the lake as two humans were playing 'stone skipping' as the weather was high pressure today. It had been warm for the last week or so as a lot of the rain had been dried up from the ground and today had a heatwave. The kids looked at each other before one of them skipped a stone across the water at a low angle before smiling seeing it thrown far off as the other rolled their eyes in amusement. Meanwhile, Optimus Prime was near the river as he finally got some actual free-time from his job. He was exhausted and was feeling guilty about the lives lost in the battle. While Optimus wasn't one to think a lot about death in war, however the last few days has made his spark feel heavy.
He looked upwards as he was sitting on a small patch of grass as there was the sounds of joy and laughter as people were doing their activities such as fishing, collecting twigs and watching the fishes going through the lake. Optimus was surprised by the amount of happiness around the lake with the tourists exploring the area and the park nearby. The sound of bikes was heard nearby as Optimus turned his head seeing what looks to be a family riding on bikes and scooters as they zoomed past him across the pathway. He looked back into the lake as his emotions swirled around in his processor behind his usual stoic look. His arms were tense by his side as his blue optics looked from side to side, feeling the warm air around himself. There weren't a lot of calm moments as of late, especially with the Decepticons starting to become hasty.
He soon noticed someone calling him as he heard a young, teenager-like female voice. That was Alexa Waverer, one of the young human allies. She was a pretty energetic but could get quite aggressive when she needs to be. She gestured him over as he got up and walked over to her. Alexa was on a picnic blanket as she was carrying a basket full of fruits as it inside of them. Alexa watched him sat down on the picnic blanket as Alexa offered a mango to him as Optimus took the mango. While he can't exactly eat, he can't force himself to say no outside of a battle situation so he just took the mango with hesitation.
Alexa gave a small smile as Optimus looked at the mango curiously as he scanned it, seeing that it was high in terms of natural sugars and other chemicals. He put it next to him as Alexa gave a soft smile to him before grabbing an apple and eating it. Optimus knew Alexa from a few months or so ago and she had been a huge help to the Autobots. After a while Alexa began talking again "So, you took a break finally?" as Optimus answered "Ratchet had noticed the fact I'm been stuck in my room for a while outside of battles. So he dragged me out." As Alexa soon nodded before saying "I'll imagine. Transformers seem to get tired in a different way to us." Optimus soon explained "Well since we rely on energon, it's the power fuel for us and once we lose a lot of it, we can feel tired physically."Alexa nodded interested in what Optimus just said, it made sense in a strange way. Alexa soon decided to chat again trying to change the topic and make sure Optimus can enjoy his time outside of the battle as she says "I want to give you something." As Optimus looked a bit confused on what her gift was.
She gave him a plush which was a soft duck of himself. He looked amazed on the cute gift given to him as he asked Alexa "Where did you get this from, Alexa?" As Alexa replied "Turns out that a human friend of us is good at sewing. So I asked for a duck plush of you." As Optimus soon said with his voice raising in volume "I'll cherish it." Optimus held the duck in his hands as he looked across the area... Feeling the peace that appeared on the lake, it reminded him of Cybertron before the war. A peace that could never be found there with death and guilt instead overcoming any sort of freedom, it reminded him of how his Autobots died. He swore to himself he would never allowed such sanity to be tarnished again as he gripped tightly on the duck plush of himself.
Alexa noticed Optimus being distracted as she clapped her hands loudly as he looked downwards towards Alexa who looked concerned in a worried way before she questioned him "Are you distracted?" As Optimus soon said back "Yes I'm alright myself, Alexa." As he gently squished the plush duck to calm himself down from the flashbacks. Alexa nodded but didn't exactly believe him as her hazel eyes looked troubled. Optimus got up after a few more minutes before saying "I wish to stay here for longer but I have to check on my teammates."
Optimus got up before leaving as his blue optics looked back at Alexa for a moment as he turned away and left. Alexa wondered why he left as she only had a conservation with him for 25-30 minutes, after she are the fruits, she began packing up the picnic blanket and basket before deciding to take a walk along the lake. She soon went outside of the park and began reading a book about planets, she flipped the pages until she saw the planet Cybertron and it's description said:
Cybertron is the original planet of the Cybertronians or by slang term known as Transformers due to their ability to change into different sort of objects. It has three well known ages are: The Decian age, The Golden age and The Millan age (where the great war happened). Each age is separate from each other with different events occurring in different parts of Cybertron. The golden age is the most well-known due to the advanced upgrades and major events that has happened there. Originally it used to be quite peaceful until a strange event happened for it to go into the great war.
"What an interesting thing..." She noticed that her phone was ringing before answering the call "Yes?" As she heard her mother say "We have to talk about something. Come home." As Alexa closed the phone and decided to leave.
