Chapter 5 - The ride to a new place

Andrew lies there, sleeping peacefully, when he is awakened by a loud voice over the PA system. " Conductor speaking, we have now entered the prime universe. We are 16 hours away from the Fraser Universal Space Station. We have been grateful to partner with Nexus Empire for providing access to the prime universe. Once we reach the space station, please be ready to leave, as your connecting trains will depart shortly after our arrival. Also, please keep in mind that this space station is mixed with other species that are not clones, like everyone on that train, so please keep shock down to a minimum. Thank you for your time. Please enjoy the rest of your ride with us."

My neck feels tight from the position I was sleeping in. Andrew takes in a deep breath, and he talks out loud, "Whoa, I smell like trash." He slowly puts his head out into the middle of the aisle, looking to see if anyone's eyes are going his direction. Thank the founder that nobody is looking at me. Andrew puts his head back into his section. Alright, let me get my towel and my favorite pair of green underwear. Looking at this now, I should have brought more clothes and my other stuff instead of selling everything for money. I don't think this is even enough money to cover a hotel. " Oh no, I am poor again, " he says with a whimping voice. His hands run through his hair before grabbing it and pulling it. " I am so cooked," he says with a little laugh. Alright, I can be cooked, but I can't be cooked and smell. Andrew goes to take a shower. His walk is one that is filled with confidence. His chest was upright with a huge smile on his face. The train carts were filled with a bright amber red carpet. The seats are bright green to contrast the red cap. The lights are a low, dim neon blue that reflects off Andrew's hair. He makes it to the shower cart. Wow, not a single bath taken, lucky me! The smell is wonderful in here, and there is enough room for me to put my clothes/towels. " Time to strip," he says with a huge smile on his face. He turns on the water and is greeted with warm water that starts to run down his whole body.

A while later

The PA systems boom overhead, " Passengers, we are 30 minutes away from the Fraser station. Please make sure all your belongings are packed up and ready to make an orderly exit. Thank you for using our service today, and good luck with your new lives beyond the citadel." Ugh, my head every time I wake up from the PA system because it's always so loud. I hope the next train isn't like this. Alright, let's put away this fuzzy blanket along with everything else. His hands grip the soft blanket, picking it up off him. Then pack it back into the backpack neatly. Alright, everything is packed up, time just to coast and listen to music. I am glad that they gave us some free headphones to plug into the seat's jack. His hands scroll on the smooth glass screen searching for a song. No, no, they don't have anything good in the section where the music is … oh they have old Earth music from the 2000s. Alright, this will do. Andrew leans his head back into the headrest of the seat. He starts to nod his head to the music.

40 minutes later

" Station 30 is getting ready to take off. Please arrive at your dock. Get your ticket stamped and quickly take your seat."

" Station 67 is getting ready to take off. Please arrive at your dock. Get your ticket stamped and quickly take your seat."

" Station 904 is getting ready to take off. Please arrive at your dock. Get your ticket stamped and quickly take your seat."

" Station 458 is getting ready to take off. Please arrive at your dock. Get your ticket stamped and quickly take your seat."

" Station 346 is getting ready to take off. Please arrive at your dock. Get your ticket stamped and quickly take your seat."

" Station 216 is getting ready to take off. Please arrive at your dock. Get your ticket stamped and quickly take your seat."

The overcom speakers continue to blast off stations. I was ready for a busy station, but this is a whole new level of intense. Ever since I got off the train, I haven't been able to focus due to sheer noise. What did my ticket say again? 71- " Watch where you're going, freak !" as a huge Palionion that stands 17 feet tall pushes him out of the way with its five arms. Two of them are entirely synthetic, with wires extending directly to his head. That was rude. What a jer- " Keep it moving, plank," as Andrew gets shoved by Lexian, who stands 5 feet tall, with 40 small micro legs that are made out of an X-metal alloy. Okay, I'm feeling a little overwhelmed at the moment, but I have to keep moving forward. What a dense crowd of people here. I have never seen this many different races in my life. Curiosity aside, let's find out what ticket I am. Ticket 717 to planet Avalon. Where can I find that? It's so hard to see over all these tall people here. Andrew starts to make his way through the crowd in an attempt to find a keyos. As he hastily runs around lost, he hears over the intercom, " Station 717 is getting ready to take off. Please arrive at your dock. Get your ticket stamped and quickly take your seat." Oh no!

I have to find this quickly. Don't want to ask anyone, but I don't have a choice in the matter. Andrew reaches for a tall Lexion to ask for directions. " Excuse me, sir, but do you have any idea where I can find station 717? " The tall Lexion turns around with an angry expression, but becomes more friendly once he sees how small Andrew is. He says, " I am actually going there myself. You are welcome to follow me, child." Andrew was shocked, but quickly responded with an " Okay, lead the way." Lexion started to lead the way while Andrew followed. I can't believe this dude believes that I am a child. I am going to set the record straight once we get the station. Well, it is helpful that this guy is abnormally tall. It's strange, too, that he doesn't seem to have any augmentation or nor tech in his body. He is just natural. Oh, I can almost see the station from here, awesome! The vibe I am getting from this guy is gentle yet firm. I have never seen someone with this kind of aura. Andrew and the Lexion arrive at station 717. The Lexion turns towards Andrew and speaks gently to him, " My child, I must go now, but I will be back." He leaves while Andrew turns around and watches him disappear into the crowd. Okay, that was a weird guy, but at least I am in line now. Hold up, are my eyes deceiving me? Is that an O series clone? It is! What in the hell is he doing here? Andrew moves up the line and prepares his ticket. He stands in front of the ticket master, looking him in the eye while handing him his ticket. The ticket master grabs his ticket, then, looking back at him, says, "You're a clone. Why are you going to Avalon? Don't you know what's there? Did you not read any books about that hellhole? Legend says that the slayer, the destroyer son, is there !" Not giving Andrew a word to speak, he continues to talk over him. " Kid, you look young. Let me give you some advice. You should not go there because all you will find is trouble. I am here to make people like you not go to Avalon because I can't help but see you guys trap yourself in a cycle of doom. Please turn around, go somewhere! Somewhere that is better for you, somewhere that isn't here." His eyes pierced Andrew's soul. Andrew's response came while he was feeling anxious, with a deep knot in his gut. His voice came out weak. " I know what I am doing. I don't need your advice. Please just stamp my ticket and let me go on my day." The ticket master nods, stamping Andrew's ticket and handing it back. Andrew walks onto the train, seeing that it looks the same as the one he took to come here. He finds a window seat. What was that guy's problem?! People like him need to stay out of others' business. I mean, what the hell. His eyes were looking forward. Looks like they have a screen on the back of the seat of this one that is more advanced than one of the Citadel trains. Alright, let's see how long this one is going to take. Okay, two hours and thirty minutes is not bad at all. Andrew noticed someone sitting right next to him. I was hoping that nobody would sit next to me, but it isn't the end of the world. Time to do some reading on how to be a normal person and listen to music while on the train ride. The conductor speaks over the PA system, " Thank you for joining us today. My name is - " Andrew stops listening as he turns up the music and starts to read his book.
