Clearing his throat, Noah stepped forward and said. "Sorry I was late, Selina."
He remembered the moment her movement changed on the tracker—the instant he pushed the car harder, ignoring everything else just to get there.
Selina shot him a dead glare. "You were a little late."
But her eyes moved around instinctively, only Noah and Sean stood there. Someone was missing.
"Where's Damien?" she asked.
"He was behind me. He should be here any moment," Noah replied, glancing toward the entrance.
As if on cue, they heard the door opening, revealing Damien entering after finally breaking through. Noah's eyes gleamed with amazement, spotting that the young man had barely broken a sweat, unlike him, who had gone nearly unhinged struggling with the overhead door.
Noah let out a low whistle. "You sure you weren't a thief before becoming Zane's assistant?"
A faint, relieved grin passed through the group. All except Zane—who looked unsurprised.
