Volume 1 Chapter 273: The Game
Lily patiently guided Ning Chu through each and every step of makeup application.
"Got it?" she asked, glancing at Ning Chu, who now wore a light layer of makeup.
Ning Chu looked a little dazed and gave a hesitant nod. "Sort of?"
The steps were a bit complicated, and her head was spinning a little.
"Practice more."
"Mm."
She stared at her reflection in the mirror. While her face had never had any major flaws to begin with, after applying makeup, her complexion seemed healthier, and even her overall vibe felt a bit more refined.
Her face, which still had a hint of youthful innocence, now looked noticeably more mature—but still clearly that of a high schooler.
No wonder girls love makeup so much~
Ning Chu glanced down at the makeup products scattered on the table and asked, "If I'm just starting out… what kind of makeup should I get? Something decent but affordable—like stuff around fifty yuan?"
She knew quality makeup could easily cost hundreds, but with her current financial situation, cheap and practical was all she needed.
"Take this set. It's yours," Lily said calmly, gesturing to all the jars and bottles on the table.
"Eh? That's not necessary, really!"
"I don't use this set anymore. If I leave it here, it'll just expire."
Ning Chu didn't feel right accepting it for free and shook her head, conflicted. But Lily had already grabbed a bag and started packing the items in without hesitation.
Then, right in front of her eyes, Lily pulled out a small, oval-shaped toy from under the vanity and casually tossed it into the bag as well.
"Remember to use it," she added.
"..."
Hold up—what!? Makeup was one thing, but that kind of toy?! That was seriously unnecessary!
I have a boyfriend! Why would I need a toy!?
To "enhance the mood"? Or just to break it!?
Ning Chu's expression stiffened. Then she watched in horror as Lily walked over to the TV cabinet, pulled out a monstrous-looking toy, and tossed that into the bag too.
"This one's really not necessary!" Ning Chu protested.
"It's unused," Lily said cheerfully. "It's too big—I didn't dare try it."
'You're aware it's too big and you still want to give it to me?!'
Was this girl's mission in life to turn her into a fellow toy enthusiast!?
Ning Chu suddenly glanced toward the bed, where Yan Xinya was still asleep.
No wonder this wolf girl sometimes made such dirty jokes out of nowhere—she'd been corrupted already!
Just then, Yan Xinya stirred awake. Rubbing the dried tear streaks from the corners of her eyes, she opened her sleepy eyes and locked gazes with Ning Chu.
"Ning Chu? Why's your face so red?"
"It's nothing!" Ning Chu jolted and frantically shook her head.
At that moment, the bag full of makeup—and other things—was set down on her lap. She hurried to close the bag tightly, terrified that Yan Xinya would peek inside.
"I'm hungry!"
"I'll go make burgers," Lily said, her expression blank as she walked out of the bedroom.
She really looked like a cold, aloof goddess, and she had a surprisingly nice personality too—but why was she so obsessed with getting her to try those kinds of toys?
Ning Chu sighed like her soul had left her body, hugging the bag tightly, her curiosity starting to stir.
Why is she so persistent…
…Could it really feel that good?

"Ning Chu~ How was your sleep last night?" Yan Xinya asked with a yawn as she sat up in bed, completely unconcerned about her skirt riding up.
"It was fine. The bed's really comfortable," Ning Chu replied.
"Right?! I think so too~" Yan Xinya wrapped herself in the blanket and rolled around on the bed. "It's so big and soft~ Even three people could sleep on it without feeling cramped~"
Ning Chu kept her lips pressed together, quietly tightening the bag's opening as she came over and sat on the edge of the bed. She looked at the wolf girl and asked softly,
"Does Lily… usually try to recommend stuff to you in the dorm?"
"Recommend stuff?"
Yan Xinya blinked. "You mean toys?"
"Yeah."
"Eh, not that often? Sometimes online, maybe. But in person, she's actually super shy~ So cute~"
Shy? Where?!
She's just a full-on closet perv!
Ning Chu let out a soft sigh, leaning back against the headboard. Her gaze drifted to the bag of makeup sitting on the vanity.
Honestly, maybe she should just leave it behind.
She hadn't even wanted to accept the makeup in the first place—who knows how expensive that stuff was? No way she'd feel right taking it for free.
"Xinya, burgers," Lily announced, walking into the room with a small plate in hand. "Get out of bed to eat."

Yan Xinya practically bounced out of bed and eagerly took the burger, plopping herself in front of the desk. She took a bite and let out a happy sigh, her face full of bliss.
"Lily, you're so wife-material~ If I were a guy, I'd totally marry you!"
"This burger tastes better than anything you can buy outside!"
She devoured her breakfast in just a few bites, sucking the sauce off her fingers and immediately asking, "What's for lunch?"
"Wanna eat out?"
"Sure~"
Lily gave a small nod, then turned to open her wardrobe. She began packing away her fall and winter clothes and bedding to take back to the school dorms.
Though she usually wore long dresses at school, she actually owned a huge variety of outfits—everything from casual to risqué.
When Ning Chu peeked curiously into the wardrobe, her eyes instantly landed on something in the corner: a skin-tight latex suit… and even some sexy lingerie.
This girl really plays hard at home, huh…

Lily noticed Ning Chu's gaze but didn't even flinch. She kept calmly folding her clothes and packing her suitcase.
"Hey Ning Chu~ do you play on game consoles?"
Yan Xinya had wandered over to the TV cabinet and discovered a dusty PS4 that looked like it hadn't been touched in ages.
"I do!"
Ning Chu's attention immediately snapped over.
A game console?! Her one and only console growing up had been a hand-me-down GBA from her brother. It barely had any games, but she'd still played it every summer until it nearly fell apart.
Back during her university internship, she'd even considered saving up for a PS5… But then—bam—she got isekai'd before she could even start working.
Eagerly, she rushed to the foot of the bed and plopped down, accepting the controller Xinya handed her. Her eyes sparkled with excitement.
"Are there any good games on this?" she asked.
"Tons~" Yan Xinya replied in awe. "I had no idea Lily liked games so much! Back at school, I thought she only played those kinds of games…"
Still packing her suitcase, Lily glanced over and said casually, "It was my dad's. He gave it to me when he stopped playing."
"Ohhh~"
Inside the drawer under the TV, there were—surprisingly—no toys, just rows and rows of neatly packed game discs.
Many were still shrink-wrapped, completely untouched. The drawer was stuffed to the brim with games.
Ning Chu's eyes practically lit up like she'd found the gates of heaven.
"Xinya! This is going to be so much fun!"
Yan Xinya blinked in confusion. "Didn't you say you weren't much of a gamer…?"
That was only because the competitive online games here were way too different from the ones in her previous world.
They had a steep learning curve, and games like League of Legend were no joke—just memorizing the skills alone was a huge undertaking.
"I just don't like online games, that's all," she clarified.
But single-player games? No learning curve, no pressure—just pure, unfiltered fun!
Ning Chu booted up the console and plopped down cross-legged on the floor, back resting against the bed. She stared at the game's opening cinematic on the TV screen with sparkling eyes.
"There are so many games I haven't played yet~ I could stay at Lily's place for a whole month and not go outside once!"
"Too bad we're heading back this afternoon~"
Yan Xinya glanced down at Ning Chu and couldn't help but feel like she was looking at a textbook example of a hardcore gaming otaku.
