Volume 2 Chapter 8 / Chapter 289: The Party
Even though it was called the New Year's Eve Party, the actual New Year had already passed several days ago.
Originally, the event was scheduled for two days before New Year's Day—but a heavy downpour had forced the school to delay it until tonight.
Ning Chu and Wen Yang arrived side-by-side at the school's main sports field. As soon as they stepped inside, they could see a massive temporary stage set up on one end, glowing brightly under the lights. Two student hosts were already onstage delivering the opening remarks. The rows of small stools below were nearly packed with students.
"So lively~"
Ning Chu stepped forward and glanced toward the stage—only for her smile to twitch slightly.
"Yan Xinya?"
"Huh?"
Wen Yang finally looked up at the stage more closely. "Wait… is that really her?"
"Looks like it."
There was no mistaking the iconic wolf ears and big fluffy tail.
Yan Xinya was dressed in an off-shoulder evening gown and high heels, with a full face of mature, glamorous makeup. Compared to her usual chaotic, loud, and unpredictable persona, tonight's version of the wolf girl was elegant, refined—and surprisingly articulate. She spoke fluently and confidently, not a single stumble.
The contrast was so stark, it was like watching a husky transform into a show poodle.
Ning Chu and Wen Yang stared, dumbfounded.
The two of them exchanged equally baffled glances. Ning Chu muttered in disbelief, "Xinya can actually host a show...?"
She stared at the stage, still processing it.
"This is… hard to accept."
"I thought Xinya was just like me—only good at eating and sleeping!"
Wen Yang quickly corrected her:
"You write novels. You make over two thousand a month. That's better than most people."
Better, my ass!
If it weren't a self-insert autobiography, there wouldn't be so many readers!
She sighed.
"Yeah, whatever…"
Unfortunately, even though this world was pretty open-minded, Hentai story still couldn't be openly monetized. Which meant she couldn't make spending money doing what she was actually best at.
"Ning Chu."
"?!"
She nearly jumped out of her skin.
Spinning around, she realized Lily had appeared right beside her at some point.
"When did you get here?"
"Just now."
"You and Xinya are the worst! Becoming hosts and not even telling me!"
"Xinya told me not to."
As always, Lily was the picture of ice-cold goddess energy—expressionless, taciturn, and emotionally distant.
"You could've secretly told me! I almost didn't recognize her!"
By the time the performances began, the little stools near the stage were completely full. Ning Chu didn't feel like standing around the whole time, so she grabbed Wen Yang and Lily and plopped down directly on the artificial turf.
The show itself… wasn't exactly impressive.
Music, dance, poetry readings, and some painfully awkward skits and cross-talks. Most of it was amateur level, and not in a charming way.
The crowd ebbed and flowed—waves of students coming and going throughout the night.
Ning Chu started getting sleepy.
She yawned, walked over to Wen Yang, and said, "Move your legs."
She sat down in front of him, scooting backward until she was leaning fully against his chest—using him as a human couch.
Ah, comfy~
Wen Yang's body was slightly warmer than hers, like a personal heater on a cold winter night.
She rested her head on his chest, absently playing with her phone, while Wen Yang gently wrapped his arms around her.
"Lin Li," Lily said suddenly from the side.
Ning Chu instinctively looked toward the stage—sure enough, Lin Li had come up with a flock of beautiful girls behind her.
Lin Li stepped onstage, her crop top riding high and showing off a delicate, toned waist. Her perky hips were tightly hugged by ultra-short shorts, and her long legs were wrapped in sheer black stockings. The moment she appeared, that stunning figure caught everyone's attention.
Where the previous acts had been a snoozefest, now the entire audience was buzzing with energy.
Ning Chu pursed her lips and scoffed, "Doesn't she feel cold dressed like that?"
She instinctively looked up at Wen Yang—only to catch him staring straight at the stage, totally entranced.
Her face darkened.
Without warning, she pinched the soft flesh on his thigh hard.
"Like what you see?"
"N-not really. Just average."
Wen Yang suddenly felt a chill down his spine. He quickly looked down and fiddled with his phone.
"Honestly… it's nothing special."
"Tch."
Still—credit where credit's due—Lin Li's figure is amazing.
That bust was definitely at least a D-cup, no question.
Even though Ning Chu had mostly lost her interest in girls thanks to her succubus hormones and mental shifts, she couldn't deny Lin Li had serious allure.
She glanced down at her own chest. Hidden under a thick coat, it was practically flat—maybe a B-cup on a good day. Not exactly small, but no way it could compete with a vixen like that.
With Lin Li leading a team in a flashy pop dance number, the party's energy skyrocketed. The crowd burst into cheers and applause.
"That was a solid performance," Lily commented coolly from the side.

Ning Chu muttered in reluctant admiration—only to suddenly feel her "cushioned seat" turning very rapidly into something much firmer.
Whatever admiration she had was instantly replaced by embarrassment and frustration.
Wen Yang!!!
She froze, not daring to move. Any motion might… make it worse.
"What the hell are you doing?" she hissed, voice low and full of shame.
"I can't help it…"
Wen Yang sounded just as miserable.
The little succubus in his arms was constantly emitting irresistible pheromones. He had one arm around her slender waist, and her soft body was pressed right against him—it would take superhuman restraint not to react.
"I'm leaving!"
Ning Chu made a move to stand.
"Wait! What if Lily sees?!"
She glanced sideways. Sure enough, Lily was right next to them. Even though it was night, the field was brightly lit for the party. If she stood up now, there'd be no hiding Wen Yang's… situation.
Well… it's not her reputation that's on the line, really.
But still!
She could feel the shape and size—it's still as scary as ever.
That burning heat, like a flickering flame, teased her nerves and body. Her ears flushed pink, and the blush spread visibly across her cheeks.
And it wasn't stopping there.
Right in front of Wen Yang's eyes, that red hue spread from her cheeks to her neck, then all the way up to her ears.
There were people everywhere!
Her body was definitely reacting now—but more than anything, what she felt was overwhelming shame.
Ning Chu darted her eyes around.
Besides Lily, there were at least a few other students within five meters.
"You're a pervert!"
"I'm a man," Wen Yang said righteously—then hugged the little succubus even tighter.
That made Ning Chu tremble slightly, her body stiffening further.
Suddenly, Lily turned to look at them. Her nose twitched slightly as she sniffed the air, then she looked at Ning Chu's clearly flushed face.
"Mm…"
Without a word, Lily expressionlessly scooted half a meter to the side, subtly increasing the distance between them.
She didn't say a thing—but the message was loud and clear.
Ning Chu burned with embarrassment, unable to lift her head.
She reached over and pinched Wen Yang's thigh again, her voice low and furious.
"You're doing this on purpose, aren't you?!"
"Of course not!"
"You just wanna see me like this!"
"I swear, I'm just watching the show!"
"Then how come you keep getting bigger?!"
