Volume 2 Chapter 206 / Chapter 486: Night
By the time they returned to Lily's home, it was already quite late.
As they stepped into the living room, the massive floor-to-ceiling window that took up an entire wall revealed the city's nightscape before them. The dazzling, colorful view made Xi Xi gasp in amazement. Without even putting on slippers, she ran barefoot to the window, pressing herself against the glass, staring wide-eyed at the scene, her nose squished flat like a pig's snout.
"I've never seen a night view from this high up before!"
Yan Xinya had already seen it a few times before, so she curled her lips in mild disdain at Xi Xi's overreaction. Setting her handbag on the coffee table, she turned and asked, "Where are Ning Chu and Wen Yang? Did they get a ride yet?"
Lily, who followed behind her, shook her head.
"It's way too hard to get a ride here at night, isn't it? And there aren't many food delivery options either…" The wolf girl muttered as she flopped down onto the sofa.
This area was quite remote—a newly developed part of the city. Although residential buildings had been constructed, the surrounding facilities were still lacking, and there weren't many people around. At night, it was especially difficult to get a ride-hailing car or a taxi.
The three of them had managed to get a ride earlier, so they came back first.
"I told them to just squeeze in with us," Yan Xinya muttered. "Ning Chu could've just sat on Wen Yang's lap."
"Not safe."
Lily set down her bag, yawned sleepily, then climbed onto the sofa, curling up with one leg hugged in her arms as she played on her phone.
"So what's the plan tonight? Watch a movie? We were supposed to play mahjong, but Qian Qian ran off with her man, and Ning Chu still isn't back."
Yan Xinya, however, was still full of energy—her excitement bar maxed out. Barely two minutes after getting home, she was already thinking about what to do next.
"I'm sleepy."
"Sleepy? Back in the dorm, you could stay up till morning reading those… novels."
"..."
Xi Xi immediately turned her head, alert. "Huh? What novels?"
"Fiction."
Even though her suggestive computer wallpaper had already exposed her true nature, Xi Xi wasn't a succubus, and they hadn't known each other that long, so Lily still hadn't fully let loose around her.
Otherwise, Xi Xi's phone would've already been filled with shopping links Lily sent her.
"Let's watch a movie~" Yan Xinya grabbed the projector remote, turning it on while browsing for something interesting. "How about a horror movie? Perfect for nighttime."
"Anything's fine."
After finally getting tired of staring at the night view, Xi Xi came over to the sofa, peeking curiously. "A horror movie? You guys are that brave?"
"Of course! I'm a wolf—brave and fearless!"
Xi Xi wanted to say that the wolf girl looked more like a husky, but she held back her inner complaint. Instead, she obediently went to turn off the lights in the living room, plunging the entire space into darkness.
Watching a horror movie in such a pitch-black atmosphere was indeed quite fitting.

After more than a hundred minutes, the movie ended.
Lily had long since curled up with her legs tucked in, her head tilted to the side, already asleep against Yan Xinya's shoulder.
Yan Xinya had no idea how she managed to fall asleep during a horror movie—it had been pretty scary.
She sat there stiffly, not daring to move, afraid of waking Lily.
"It's already past midnight… I'm hungry." She held her stomach and turned to Xi Xi. "Want some late-night snacks?"
"Yeah!"
Xi Xi replied, but quickly lowered her voice, asking in confusion, "Um… where's Ning Chu? Still haven't gotten a ride?"
"..."
Yan Xinya suddenly realized—no wonder something had felt off after finishing the movie!
Ning Chu and Wen Yang still hadn't come back?
"It's been two hours. Even if they were just walking, they should've made it back by now, right?" the wolf girl scratched her head. "Did they go somewhere else to hang out?"
But it was late at night, and this area was pretty remote—there wasn't really anywhere to go.
Even finding a hotel to check into would be difficult.
Suddenly, her eyes lit up. "Don't tell me they went back to the hot spring again?"
"Huh?" Xi Xi hadn't thought in that direction at all. "Ning Chu still isn't done soaking? Isn't it bad for your body to stay in too long?"
"Heh, you're still a kid, it's hard to explain to you."
"I'm eighteen already, okay?"
Yan Xinya glanced at her flat chest and gave a polite, noncommittal smile.
Thinking about the timing, it had definitely been more than two hours since they left the hot spring.
Was Wen Yang really that strong? Even if not all of that time was… "action," and included some buildup, it was still way longer than the average ten minutes people joked about online.
Xi Xi gradually started to understand what's happening, her face gaining a faint blush.
Just as they were talking about Ning Chu, the sound of the elevator opening came from the hallway.
"Why is it so dark? Did you all fall asleep?"
As Ning Chu stepped into Lily's entryway, she instinctively lowered her voice and even softened her footsteps.
Her movements were a bit awkward, and she frowned slightly as she bent down to change shoes, muttering complaints under her breath: "It's all your fault—I'm so sore. Who knows when this will get better."
"Yes, yes, it's all my fault," Wen Yang replied with a helpless yet gentle smile.
As if he didn't know who had been urging him to go rougher earlier…
He slipped off his shoes and walked toward the living room, but as he turned the corner, he suddenly stopped.
"You know how it is, I don't feel pain when I'm caught up in the moment! You should've been more careful—"
"Still not asleep? Watching a movie?"
Wen Yang's words cut off Ning Chu's complaints. She froze for a second, then suddenly realized that everything she had just said had been clearly overheard.
Her face flushed red at a visible speed, instantly turning crimson as she lowered her head in embarrassment.
Oh my god! Why was it so quiet?!
Panicking, she peeked into the living room. The projector screen had just finished playing the movie, now showing a dark interface with faint light, and her three friends were sitting on the sofa.
Lily had already woken up when the elevator doors opened. The three of them turned their heads in unison to look at Ning Chu, each wearing a teasing, knowing expression.
"..."
Ning Chu silently pulled her head back.
Wen Yang let out an awkward chuckle, then turned on the living room lights as if nothing had happened. "It's so late, why aren't you sleeping? Planning to stay up all night?"
"Xinya said she wanted to wait for you guys to come back and play mahjong, but we accidentally waited until now," Xi Xi explained honestly.
Yan Xinya, however, was far less restrained. The corners of her mouth curled upward as she teased, "I was worried you two would make too much noise if you slept together~ but looks like we'll get a good night's sleep~"
Lily nodded in agreement. "Indeed."
Sounded like quite the intense… battle, too. Probably even happened in the hot spring~
"I'm going to the bathroom."
Ning Chu suddenly dashed out from the entryway, rushing past the living room and diving straight into the bathroom.
She knew they'd find out! If it weren't for Wen Yang suggesting it, she wouldn't have been tempted in the first place!
It was all Wen Yang's fault!
The slight awkwardness in her steps, caused by soreness, didn't escape Yan Xinya's sharp eyes.
Looks like she really got it rough~
