Chapter 424 - Chapter 424

"Hehe~ Just remembered now."

Kawaki sheepishly scratched his head.

"I oughta punch you."

Tsunade took Kawaki's hand again and quickly logged into the Katsuyu chatroom after returning home.

"Did you find it?"

As soon as he saw her, Nagato couldn't help but ask.

"Of course. Someone take notes for me."

Tsunade spread out the scroll in front of her, allowing Nagato and the others a clear view.

Kakuzu wanted to look yet didn't want to look, his facial expression extremely conflicted.

Curiosity was the only thing keeping him here; otherwise, there was no way he would've stayed.

"Alright, Teacher."

Soon enough, Nonou transcribed everything onto a blank scroll.

"Hmm~"

"Nagato's unavailable, so Kakuzu counts as one."

"You three should just about pull it off."

Kawaki rubbed his chin while eyeing them up, feeling there wouldn't be much of a problem.

Although the Four Red Yang Formation required four Kage-level individuals to activate, Yahiko and the rest had grown extremely quickly over the years.

Putting aside Nagato, who's basically cheating, the others were all naturally gifted prodigies.

Given their more favorable circumstances, it was entirely expected that they'd reach Kage-level sooner than in the original plot.

"Teacher, who are you looking down on exactly?"

Konan pouted slightly, her defiant tone quite endearing.

"Haha~ That was my mistake."

"I'm apologizing."

Kawaki chuckled insincerely, completely ignoring Kakuzu's unwillingness to be bossed around.

"Alright, you four get familiar with it first."

"It's still an A-rank jutsu after all; it won't be easy."

Tsunade wasn't particularly worried, though she really wanted to see how Nagato planned to subdue the Tailed Beast sooner rather than later.

Yahiko and the others had spent every day together for so many years, naturally developing great chemistry.

"Okay."

Nagato agreed, hugging the tank and heading straight outside.

Though Kakuzu bore obvious reluctance, he still followed behind them.

Before long, the five arrived at the valley where Hanzō had died—this place truly was ideal.

Surrounded by mountains on four sides with only one entrance, it offered excellent concealment.

"This spot is pretty good."

Kawaki nodded slightly, showing no sentimentality toward the past.

"Is dropping this tank enough?"

Nagato lifted up the black tank-shaped container, causing Yahiko and the others to retreat several steps in alarm.

In the blink of an eye, they'd created significant distance between themselves and Nagato.

"I was just trying it out. Don't be scared."

Holding the tank firmly, Nagato seemed delighted.

What a cheap prank!

"You little brat~"

Nagato rarely acted mischievous, so springing it on them like that was genuinely scary.

"Hahaha~"

"Just give it a good toss."

Kawaki simply watched with the air of someone watching a show unfold—the average person definitely couldn't break this tank.

But if Nagato threw it? No problem whatsoever.

"No time like the present. Let's try the barrier."

Tsunade also smiled, though far more subtly than Kawaki did.

"Yes, Teacher (Teacher's Wife)."

Only Kakuzu didn't respond, silently positioning himself apart from Yahiko and the other three, surrounding Nagato at the center.

"Ready?"

Judging the distance, their expressions all grew serious.

At Yahiko's low shout, the remaining three simultaneously nodded.

"Here we go."

The four of them formed hand seals in unison, and massive waves of chakra surged through the valley.

Kawaki and Tsunade held their breath, focusing intently as they silently cheered the team on.

First attempt... failed!

Second attempt... failed!

Third attempt—a rectangular barrier, glowing red with translucent flames, finally shot up from the ground.

"We did it."

Kawaki muttered under his breath, his eyes narrowing with intensity.

"Then I'll begin."

After exchanging determined looks with Yahiko and the others, Nagato slammed the black, tank-like container into the ground without hesitation.

Bang!

The container exploded on impact with a deafening crash.

When the smoke and dust cleared, a crater several meters across appeared before them.

The sheer force of Nagato's throw was staggering.

Thanks to the shared vision, both Kawaki and Tsunade saw large amounts of blue chakra rapidly condensing into a physical form.

Yahiko and the others glared intently at the barrier's interior, their breaths turning heavy.

"Ahhh—"

A fierce, piercing roar echoed in their ears. Nagato frowned and took a few steps back.

In an instant, a massive cat, completely wreathed in blue chakra flames, burst forth from the barrier.
