"Jeffrey," she asked softly, her voice barely a whisper in the quiet car. "When are you going to end this?"
His hands, which had been gently warming hers, paused for a moment.
Then he lifted his gaze to meet hers, his eyes sparkling with an intensity that made her breath catch.
A slow, familiar smile spread across his lips, the exact same kind of smile he used to give her back when they lived together in the apartment.
"Sis," he said, his voice firm and leaving no room for argument, "there will never be an end between us!" He would never, ever allow her to just walk away from him.
