Josephine looked around the bustling night market and noticed quite a few other food stalls nearby.
The foot traffic in the area was actually pretty good, with a steady stream of people.
"You guys haven't had dinner yet, right?" Lauren called over from her wok. "Let me fry up some rice noodles for you. You can finally try my cooking!"
"Sounds great!" Josephine replied with an eager smile. She realized she had never actually tasted Lauren's cooking before.
"And what about you?" Rachel asked, looking at Lauren with concern. "You haven't eaten dinner either, have you?"
"I'll just grab something quick later," Lauren said, waving a dismissive hand. "I run a food stall myself; there's no way I'd let myself starve!"
She chuckled as she quickly and skillfully whipped up two steaming bowls of fried rice noodles for Rachel and Josephine.
The two of them gathered around one of the small, rickety tables to eat. As Josephine took her first bite, her eyes widened in delight.
