Rachel found herself waiting in Jeffrey's bedroom. The truth was, even if she wanted to run, there was nowhere to go.
Her whole world had shrunk to this house. Trying to escape was pointless, she wouldn't get far. So, she figured she might as well just... get used to it.
His room was about the same size as hers, decorated in that same traditional, antique Chinese style.
But one wall was completely covered by these heavy, floor-to-ceiling curtains.
A cold thought slithered into her mind. Was it like that other room? Were there horrible stains hidden behind this fabric too?
The idea made her shiver. She walked closer, staring hard at the curtains, wondering what secret they were keeping.
Or was it just... decor?
Just then, the bathroom door opened.
Jeffrey stepped out, fresh from the shower. A towel was wrapped low around his waist, leaving his toned chest and shoulders bare.
His dark eyes found her instantly, pinning her in place. She felt like a trapped rabbit.
