"Homelander, thank you!"
"Really, thank you so much!"
Thor immediately revealed a face full of gratitude, sincerely thanking Alex from the bottom of his heart.
To be honest.
When he first learned of the agreement between Odin and Thor, he still had some reservations.
Granted.
Homelander's strength was indeed outrageously powerful, but no matter what, was it really necessary for Asgard to lower itself to that extent?
But now.
The more displeased he had been back then, the more fortunate he felt now. Father truly had far-sighted judgment and saw things clearly.
If it weren't for Father's arrangements back then, Asgard would have already been wiped out once by Hela.
Not to mention the current crisis posed by the God Butcher.
"Let's rescue Queen Frigga first. You can thank me after that—it won't be too late."
Alex just smiled.
"Charles, Thor and I are heading back to Asgard. I'll have to trouble you with Krakoa's affairs."
There was no time to waste. Alex didn't dawdle in the slightest.
He immediately greeted Charles, then followed Thor out into the courtyard.
"Heimdall!"
Whoosh! With Thor's "affectionate call," a beam of seven-colored light descended from the heavens, enveloping both Thor and Alex.
When the light faded, the two figures vanished together.
The next moment.
Alex felt his vision blur, and he found himself in Asgard.
"Lord Alex, I'm very glad to see you."
Heimdall greeted Alex with utmost courtesy.
The man before him was Asgard's great savior.
Alex merely gave Heimdall a faint nod—nothing more.
"Heimdall, have you found my mother yet?"
Thor immediately turned to Heimdall and asked in a deep voice.
But Heimdall shook his head. "I'm very sorry, Thor. I don't know how that man did it, but I cannot see the Queen."
"What are you saying, Heimdall? Even you can't see her?"
"Why would something like this happen?"
Thor's brow instantly wrinkled like an old chrysanthemum blooming in late autumn.
He stared straight at Heimdall and questioned him gravely.
"I'm sorry, Thor."
Heimdall's expression also dimmed, a trace of guilt flashing across his face.
He was Asgard's "All-Seeing Eye," its ultimate surveillance system.
Finding Frigga was originally his responsibility.
No matter how Gorr had done it, Heimdall's failure was indisputable.
"Isn't Queen Frigga a master of magic?"
"Didn't she use magic to send any kind of message back to Asgard?"
Alex spoke up from the side at this moment.
If he remembered correctly, after Heimdall's son was captured by the God Butcher, he was still able to send a message to Thor.
"The Queen's mastery of magic is among the very best in all of Asgard, but unfortunately, her magical discipline is completely different from mine."
Heimdall explained to Alex.
Alex immediately understood.
Different specialties, after all.
That meant the situation was going to be rather troublesome.
If they couldn't even determine where Frigga was, how could they talk about a rescue?
"There is a way. Perhaps we can find Mother."
A voice sounded out. Loki strode over quickly, nodding to Alex along the way. "Homelander."
"Loki." Alex returned the greeting.
"Loki, hurry up and say it!"
Thor couldn't help urging him on.
"I've searched through all the ancient texts of Asgard. There is a divine artifact whose function completely surpasses Heimdall's."
"Anything Heimdall cannot see, that artifact can see."
"I believe that as long as we find it, we can find Mother."
Loki explained concisely.
Even so, Thor was still impatient. "So what exactly is this artifact?"
"The Mirror of Insight!"
Loki spat out the name with force.
The Mirror of Insight?
Alex raised an eyebrow slightly.
This divine artifact so highly praised by Loki was something he had never even heard of.
If he were to extract and absorb it, he'd probably gain quite a few origin points, wouldn't he?
Of course.
Alex merely entertained the thought in passing.
Whether the Mirror of Insight could actually be "harvested" would depend on the specific situation.
"Then, Loki, where is the Mirror of Insight located?"
Brushing aside those stray thoughts, Alex looked at Loki and asked seriously.
"Omnipotent City!"
Loki said heavily to the two of them.
Alex did have some impression of Omnipotent City.
Simply put, it was a place used by the various divine pantheons of the universe for communication and transit.
Gods from across the universe all had seats there, and naturally, Asgard was no exception.
When there was nothing to do, gods could go to Omnipotent City to chat, drink, and socialize with other gods.
When something came up, they could also go there to discuss matters with others.
Although gods rarely helped one another—more often taking advantage of chaos or kicking others while they were down—
Omnipotent City had effectively become a divine entertainment hub.
Still, its status was undeniable.
"Omnipotent City, huh?" Thor raised an eyebrow. "Loki, then let's take a trip to Omnipotent City!"
And just like that, the decision was happily made.
What followed went without saying.
Thor, Loki, and Alex boarded an Asgardian interstellar warship and set off in a blaze of momentum.
After forty-one hyperspace jumps and nearly half a day of travel, they finally arrived at Omnipotent City.
Perhaps Alex's current level was simply too high.
Standing in this place where gods gathered, the first thought that flashed through his mind was: That's it?
Admittedly.
The scenery of Omnipotent City was impeccable—a true paradise, picturesque and serene.
But Krakoa was no worse.
Even the blessed land of Tarot had its own unique charm.
Alex's heart remained utterly calm, without the slightest ripple.
As for the various gods walking all over the streets?
Well.
In Alex's eyes, they were equally unremarkable.
Nothing special at all.
"The place we're going is over there!"
After following Thor and Loki through several streets of Omnipotent City, Loki stopped at an intersection.
He pointed ahead at an incomparably grand temple.
Alex didn't know what the temple was specifically for, but outside its gates stood a gigantic statue, majestic and imposing.
"That is…"
"Zeus! A legend—a myth!"
Thor introduced him to Alex. At the mention of the name, Thor's eyes gleamed with fervor.
He clearly revered Zeus immensely.
"I don't know if you've noticed this, Homelander, but actually, many of my traits are modeled after Zeus."
Thor began enthusiastically explaining Zeus to Alex at length.
