Snap!
A soft sound rang out.
Zeus's thunderbolt froze in midair right in front of Alex.
Because Alex had casually reached out and gripped Zeus's thunderbolt in his hand.
Effortless. Relaxed. As if it took no strength at all.
Crackle! Crackle!
Golden lightning continuously burst outward from the thunderbolt. The destructive power of that lightning was no joke—easily on par with Thor's lightning.
No—stronger, even.
After all, Zeus was on the same level as Odin.
Yet as the golden lightning exploded over Alex's body, Alex didn't even furrow his brows.
It was as though a gentle breeze brushed past him, causing not the slightest effect.
"How is that possible?!"
Zeus was completely dumbfounded.
His full-powered strike hadn't caused even the tiniest bit of damage?
He was Zeus!
And that wasn't all.
Zeus immediately began pouring even more power into the thunderbolt.
But he quickly discovered that once the thunderbolt was caught in the other man's hand, it was completely suppressed.
No matter how Zeus tried to activate it, the thunderbolt stubbornly refused to break free from Alex's grip.
Of course.
Alex wasn't holding onto the thunderbolt just to show off.
It was because he had heard the system notification.
[Special energy source detected!]
[Analyzing energy source…]
[Energy value: 200,000 Origin Points. Status: Extractable.]
Extractable!
Alex's eyes immediately lit up.
This trip to Omnipotent City really hadn't been a waste—he'd just scored an unexpected gain of two hundred thousand Origin Points.
Not bad. Not bad at all.
Alex was in an exceptionally good mood.
"Extract!"
Since Zeus had so kindly delivered the thunderbolt right into his hands, what was there to hesitate about?
Alex immediately issued the command to the system.
Whoosh!
In an instant.
The thunderbolt in Alex's hand, once blazing with dazzling golden light, suddenly dimmed.
The golden lightning that had been constantly bursting around Alex's body vanished in the blink of an eye.
"What's going on?"
"What's happening?!"
"My thunderbolt—why does it feel like it's… been crippled?"
Zeus, standing opposite Alex, was instantly filled with confusion.
He tried even harder to control the thunderbolt, only to realize that he had completely lost all connection to it.
The thunderbolt had simply… gone offline.
"Since you want it so badly… I'll give it back to you."
Alex grinned, flicking his wrist and tossing the now-ordinary thunderbolt back at Zeus.
Snap!
Zeus caught it in one hand, disbelief deepening on his face.
Crippled.
The thunderbolt was truly crippled.
"What did you do?"
"How did you do it?"
Zeus's voice involuntarily rose an octave as he stared at Alex in utter disbelief.
What method had this mortal used?
"I didn't do anything. Your divine artifact was just a bit too flimsy."
"I wonder if Lord Zeus has any sturdier artifacts. I'd love to take a look."
Alex smiled as he raised an eyebrow at Zeus.
"You broke my artifact and then you humiliate me?"
"I'll tell you this right now—Zeus is furious!"
Zeus snorted coldly, then suddenly thrust both hands toward Alex.
Crackle!
Golden lightning instantly burst from his palms and shot toward Alex.
That's right.
Just as Thor could control lightning without his hammer, Zeus could still wield golden lightning even without the thunderbolt.
But Alex merely waved his hand lightly.
An invisible wall of telekinetic force instantly condensed in front of him.
All of Zeus's golden lightning was blocked outside.
Crackle!
Crackle!
Zeus felt as if his face was being slapped again and again. He no longer held back, unleashing every last bit of his power.
The most terrifying and violent golden lightning blasted toward Alex.
For a moment—
The entire Golden Temple was illuminated by blazing golden lightning.
An oppressive pressure filled the hall, so heavy it made it hard to breathe.
The gods gathered inside the temple felt their hair stand on end.
Each of them stared wide-eyed at Alex, who was calmly dealing with Zeus.
Only one thought echoed in their minds.
Just who was that guy?
He was actually confronting Zeus head-on!
And judging by how relaxed he looked, fighting Zeus seemed almost… easy.
"Impossible!"
"This is impossible!"
"What kind of monster is this guy?!"
Zeus himself was even more shaken, as if he'd been struck by lightning.
He simply couldn't believe it.
Couldn't accept it.
He had already used all of his power, yet he still couldn't shake the other man in the slightest?
Boom!
In the midst of Zeus's shock, a sonic boom suddenly rang out.
Alex, who had been blocking Zeus's attacks, vanished.
Boom!
The next moment.
Before Zeus could even react, he felt an incomparably terrifying force slam into his body.
Then—
Zeus was sent flying backward once again.
This time, however—
The moment Zeus crashed to the ground, Alex flickered and appeared right in front of him.
A vast and overwhelming telekinetic force pressed directly down on Zeus.
Like a small mountain bearing down on him.
Zeus immediately realized—
He couldn't get up.
He could only lie there, sprawled out like a dead dog.
Throughout the entire process, Zeus tried countless times to exert strength.
He tried to break free from Alex's power and rise from the other man's "demonic grasp," but it was utterly impossible.
Thud, thud, thud! Thud, thud, thud!
Footsteps rang out.
Golden-armored soldiers charged toward Alex.
Alex merely waved his hand again.
All the charging soldiers were blown away like leaves caught in a gale.
"Do you want to keep embarrassing yourself here…"
"…or agree to our simple request?"
Alex wasn't in a hurry at all. He stood before Zeus with his arms crossed, looking down at him leisurely.
"What is Lord Zeus doing? Why isn't he getting up?"
"Could it be… Lord Zeus is so badly injured that he can't stand?"
"No way, right? That's Zeus!"
The surrounding gods began whispering among themselves in confusion.
They couldn't see Alex's telekinetic force at all, so they had no idea what Zeus was actually doing.
Zeus: "..."
Fine.
Kid, you win.
Zeus couldn't endure those strange looks any longer. This was nothing short of a public execution.
"You win!"
"You win, alright?!"
"Hurry up and withdraw your methods!"
Zeus could only shout in a low voice at Alex, helpless and unwilling.
"If you'd done this earlier, wouldn't that have been fine?"
Alex let out a mocking smile and withdrew his telekinetic force.
