This was a plant that had somehow evolved to become a demon, but it hadn't been able to leave behind many descendants.
Otherwise, there would have been a tribe of plant demons added to the many tribes of demons that were out there.
The explanation from the game was that after evolving into a demon, the plant had been filled with demonic energy that made it much stronger. But that also meant that it was harder for it to reproduce since the demonic energy was so strong.
This was even more so the case once it became the demon king.
So in its life, it had only had one offspring which was this strange plant in front of me.
The problem was that everyone knew about this and had been searching for the last descendant of that plant demon king. After all, they thought that this last descendant would have some kind of special power that they could absorb.
That was why this strange plant had been hiding for so long.
