Chapter 340 - Chapter 341: Uchiha Conference

Two pairs of Mangekyō appeared at once, and Ōnoki completely lost his composure. He immediately recognized Itachi's identity.

"You're a Konoha missing-nin! Uchiha Itachi!"

Back when Itachi defected, Ōnoki had seen his portrait. From the moment he first laid eyes on him, Itachi had looked familiar. Now, seeing those Mangekyō Sharingan, his identity was confirmed beyond doubt.

Kaito glanced at him and said,

"Itachi is now the head of Konoha's Anbu. He's no missing-nin."

When Sasuke heard Ōnoki call his brother a missing-nin, he immediately activated his own Sharingan. Even though a pair of three-tomoe Sharingan paled in comparison before two Mangekyō, it still made one thing clear—he was Uchiha.

Ōnoki was stunned. Three Uchiha had suddenly appeared in Konoha's ranks. Was the Uchiha clan rising from the ashes again!?

Mei Terumī and Kurotsuchi also finally understood—no wonder these three looked so strikingly handsome. They were all Uchiha!

Boom!

With a loud crash, A broke through the wall, landing heavily. His expression was grim as he stared at Kaito, gaze sharp and weighty.

A shinobi known for his Taijutsu had just been utterly crushed in hand-to-hand combat—by an Uchiha, no less!

It wasn't just him. No one else had yet recovered from the shock of that exchange.

Kaito looked at A and said evenly,

"Still want to fight?"

A's face darkened, both fists clenching as he prepared to charge again—but Darui suddenly appeared at his side, shaking his head gravely.

As someone destined to become the next Raikage, Darui had far more composure than A.

From that brief clash, he already knew—A was completely outmatched. To keep going would only bring further humiliation.

A realized it too. He flared his nostrils, exhaling sharply, before finally loosening his fists.

Darui let out a slow breath of relief and accompanied A back to his seat.

But C stood frozen in a daze. Darui noticed at once—C had fallen into Uchiha Itachi's genjutsu!

He immediately spoke up,

"Lord Hokage, it was our fault just now. Please, have your man release C from the genjutsu!"

Itachi's Mangekyō was still turning slowly. He looked to Kaito, who smiled and nodded back at him.

With Kaito's approval, Itachi closed his Mangekyō, and C snapped out of the illusion. His body swayed, and if not for Darui catching him, he would have collapsed on the spot.

C's face was blank with confusion. Darui frowned deeply, once more struck by how terrifying the Uchiha truly were.

After all, C was one of the rare genjutsu specialists in Kumogakure. His genjutsu ability was certainly not weak—yet against Uchiha Itachi, he hadn't even realized he was trapped.

C's defeat meant only one thing: in this exchange between Konoha and Kumogakure, Kumogakure had been completely crushed.

Minato sighed quietly to himself.

"The Uchiha clan is truly a treasure left to Konoha by the heavens… yet Konoha destroyed them with its own hands. At least we still have Kaito..."

But the shock the Uchiha brought was far from over.

As space began to twist, a masked man appeared—Obito. He stood on the table, coldly sweeping his gaze across the assembly.

He wore the Akatsuki's signature black cloak with red clouds. A leapt to his feet, roaring,

"You're with Akatsuki!"

Obito turned his head, his lone Sharingan locking onto A. At the sight of that eye, A's face went pale in shock.

"You're an Uchiha too!?"

"Hmph. I am Uchiha Madara!"

The moment those four words left his mouth, Ōnoki's eyes nearly popped out of his head. Three Uchiha appearing was already outrageous enough. Now another had come, claiming to be Uchiha Madara himself!?

It was absurd—yet no one dared to move.

A man calling himself Madara, clad in Akatsuki robes, stood before them. His very presence screamed "enemy." But after what they'd seen, not one person dared to make the first move.

Kaito, of course, had no reason to act. He was the one who had allowed Obito to hunt the Tailed Beasts in the first place. Naturally, he was happy to sit back and watch Obito's performance.

The others, remembering A's humiliating defeat, now feared the very name "Uchiha." None of them wanted to be the one to stick their neck out.

Even Obito himself was confused.

What's with these guys? I'm provoking them right to their faces—why are they all sitting there and not moving? Is Madara's name really that terrifying?

Instinctively, he looked toward Kaito. Kaito gave him a small nod, signaling him to continue.

Obito's confidence surged. He looked back to A, his voice cold.

"The Eight-Tails Jinchūriki is still in Kumogakure, isn't he? Hand him over!"

At those words, A's suppressed fury erupted again. He was, after all, a doting brother. Though not related by blood, his bond with Killer Bee was no weaker than any true sibling tie.

Now someone was threatening his brother's life—how could he possibly endure it?

A suddenly exploded into motion, his leg crackling with lightning as he swept it toward Obito's waist.

But Obito was already intangible. A's kick hit nothing but air, leaving him off-balance and spinning.

He barely managed to steady himself before throwing a furious punch—but again, his fist passed straight through Obito's body.

Seeing this, the other three Kage also moved. Sand and lava filled the air, and Ōnoki even unleashed Dust Release.

When the storm of attacks subsided, Obito stood unscathed at the center of the table, staring at the Kage with open provocation.

There was no denying it—Kamui's intangibility was absurdly broken. As long as Obito didn't slip up, there was practically no way to hurt him.

Even Minato, who had left his Flying Thunder God mark on Obito, couldn't directly strike his true body within Kamui's dimension.

Realizing their attacks were useless, the four Kage returned to their seats, all turning toward Kaito.

Kaito chuckled softly.

"Don't waste your strength. This is the Uchiha clan's space-time dōjutsu. Even if you drain your chakra dry, you won't harm him in the slightest."

Obito immediately added,

"As expected of my fellow Uchiha—far sharper than these fools."

"What did you just say!?"

A's rage reached its breaking point. Twice today, he had been humiliated at the hands of Uchiha, unable to regain face either time.

His anger was nothing more than impotent fury—at best making his hair stand on end a little more wildly.

Mei Terumī couldn't hold back and asked,

"Since you're also Uchiha, you must know a way to counter this, don't you?"

Kaito smirked.

"Of course."

He slowly rose from his seat, his Mangekyō opening once more. His fingers moved subtly at his side.

Obito understood immediately. Activating Kamui, his body began to vanish.

Before disappearing completely, he spoke in a low voice,

"I've no interest in fighting my own clan. Today, I came representing Akatsuki to declare war on the Five Kage. We'll meet again on the battlefield."

With that, Obito was gone.

Everyone exchanged uneasy glances.

To them, it seemed obvious—Obito had been deeply wary of Kaito, and had no choice but to run...
