Chapter 452 - Chapter 453: The Time Machine

The next morning, Bulma arrived with Trunks in tow.

Even before Bulma could say anything, Kaito already understood why she was there.

"You want me to help Trunks deal with the future, right?"

Caught off guard, Bulma's face flushed with embarrassment. She murmured softly,

"Eh? You already knew...?"

Kaito smiled faintly. Just as he was about to speak, Eighteen suddenly interrupted,

"Kaito, can you help him? I can't shake the feeling that the tragedy in the future has something to do with me..."

Well, with both women speaking up, Kaito naturally couldn't say no. He shrugged and said,

"Then what are we waiting for? Let's go."

"Oh my, oh my~ Talking about crossing time and space right in front of an angel... is that really okay?"

Vados descended from the second floor, wearing the same outfit she'd conjured yesterday, smiling as she spoke.

Trunks stiffened immediately, fear flickering across his face — after all, the impression Vados left on him yesterday had been… unforgettable.

Even Bulma instinctively hid behind Kaito's back. Kaito could only shake his head helplessly and say,

"Vados, stop scaring people. Didn't you say yesterday that you'd stop meddling with the affairs of Universe Seven?"

Vados tilted her head, pretending to think for a moment before replying in confusion,

"Did I say that? Huh, maybe I did... but it feels kind of rude to just leave me here alone, don't you think?"

"So what do you want, then?"

"Hmmm... how about taking me along? Breaking the rules sounds kind of thrilling!"

"..."

...

Together, Kaito and the others arrived at Bulma's Capsule Corporation, where they saw the Time Machine that Trunks used.

Vados curiously ran her fingers over the machine, clicking her tongue in amazement.

"Incredible. Human technology has advanced enough to travel through time? It's almost on par with the Time Rings."

Bulma beamed proudly, her voice full of satisfaction.

"Impressive, right? Guess what — the me from the future invented it!"

"Oh really? Well, if someone finds out about this later, I'll just say you're responsible."

"Eh... actually, I was just kidding, you know?"

Trunks then began explaining how the machine worked. Since it could only carry one passenger, his plan was for Kaito to go alone to the future.

Upon hearing this, Eighteen frowned and said,

"So you mean we just wait here? What if Kaito doesn't come back?"

"He will. Once he reaches the future, he can refuel there, and then Kaito-san can return."

Eighteen looked disappointed, but the facts were the facts — there wasn't much she could do.

Vados thought for a moment, then said,

"How about I ask the Supreme Kai for a Time Ring? That one can take passengers."

Kaito shot her a sideways glance.

So now she's just openly slacking off, huh? Yesterday she was all "don't interfere with time travel," and now she wants to shake down the Supreme Kai.

Sigh... in the end, sin or not, it's all just a matter of what a god says.

Still, Kaito didn't dislike her attitude. After all, he was a god himself — one who understood the joy of holding dominion over the rules. Sometimes, being double-standard just felt... good.

Vados summoned her staff and said,

"I'll go fetch it now. I'll be right back."

Kaito stopped her casually.

"No need to bother with that. If the machine's too small, just make it bigger."

Bulma froze for a second, then shook her head helplessly.

"You mean enlarge the machine? That's not easy. I can't build one of these myself — and the materials used to make it are extremely rare. It'd take forever to gather them!"

Vados said nothing, simply gazing quietly at Kaito. Her intuition told her he already had a solution.

Kaito didn't reply immediately. Instead, he gestured for everyone to step back. Then, a golden light bloomed from his right eye as he whispered,

"Sukunahikona."

Before everyone's stunned eyes, the Time Machine suddenly expanded severalfold. The cockpit that could only fit one person now looked spacious enough for eight or ten.

Even Vados, an angel, was dumbfounded. She murmured,

"To alter the size of matter from nothingness... is this the power of rules? How fascinating — a god who commands both strength and law. No wonder he's not interested in being a God of Destruction..."

Trunks was completely speechless. What had just happened was far beyond imagination — now he finally understood what the title "God" truly meant.

A god is someone who can do whatever they wish — omnipotent and free.

The golden light in Kaito's eye gradually faded. It had been a long time since he'd used that ability, and he hadn't expected it to come in handy now.

Clapping his hands lightly, he brought everyone back to their senses and said with a smile,

"Alright, everyone. Time to head out."

Bulma looked up at the now-enlarged Time Machine. Even the ladder used for climbing had grown, making it impossible for her to reach.

Everyone else present could fly — except her. So she turned to Kaito with pleading eyes.

Kaito understood immediately and was just about to move when Eighteen beat him to it. Without hesitation, she scooped Bulma up in a princess carry.

Bulma stared at her in utter confusion, while Eighteen smiled softly and said,

"Miss Bulma can't climb up, right? Don't worry — I'm happy to help~"

Before Bulma could even respond, Eighteen leaped gracefully into the air, carrying her straight into the Time Machine.

Vados watched thoughtfully, then glanced sideways at Kaito — only to suddenly stumble as if she'd lost her balance.

Startled, Kaito instantly blinked to her side and asked with concern,

"What's wrong? Are you feeling unwell?"

It sounded absurd — an angel feeling sick — but that was honestly the first thing that came to his mind.

A faint blush colored Vados's pale-blue cheeks as she pressed a hand to her forehead.

"Maybe I've been away from Universe Six for too long... my body feels a bit weak..."

Kaito blinked, surprised.

So angels can't leave their home universe for too long? That's... a new one.

He frowned and said,

"Then I'll take you back. You shouldn't ride the Time Machine."

Vados discreetly rolled her eyes.

You really are a blockhead, aren't you? If I wanted to go back, I'd have done it already.

She leaned slightly closer to him and said,

"No need. I just need a moment to adjust. But for now... could you give me a lift up there?"

"Mm. Of course."

Kaito wrapped an arm around her waist and gently lifted off, flying them both into the Time Machine.

Eighteen stared wide-eyed at the two as they entered. She never imagined even angels would "steal home" like this!
