The scene before her was hellish, as if a meteor had struck. No, to describe it, the ground had been completely shaved off.
The landscape of the street had been carved into a shallow bowl shape, turning a corner of the street into something resembling a volcano crater.
And in the center, there, something that looked like a metal block stood tall.
But none of that mattered. What mattered was the girl.
Resting her foot on the armrest of that throne, the girl, clad in a strange formal dress, stood alone.
The faint sound of sighs disappeared.
As if any other element would be reduced to impurities, the girl's presence was overwhelming.
The formal dress, made of incredible materials like metal and cloth, was certainly eye-catching.
And the skirt, which radiated light, also possessed a mesmerizing beauty.
But her own appearance completely overshadowed those things.
Dark purple hair that fell to her shoulders and waist.
Eyes that resolutely gazed at the sky, reflecting indescribable, mysterious colors.
A face that even a goddess would probably envy, listlessly tilted, silently closing her mouth.
The girl looked only fifteen or sixteen years old, but those crystal-clear eyes had lost their vibrant color, appearing somewhat lifeless.
The girl was beautiful, a beauty that seemed somewhat unreal and illusory, but this beauty did not bring the girl affection or praise.
All anyone felt towards her was a fear that made them avoid her like the plague.
Because the girl was a Spirit, a Spirit who brought destruction and death to this world, an existence that had to be killed and eliminated!
"It's... this kind of appearance again. All alone, with nothing left."
Standing in the ruins, the girl murmured softly.
Because of her appearance, everything around her had disappeared, swept away and crushed by black-purple beams, then turned into garbage-like fragments, gradually fluttering and vanishing in the air.
A spacequake, a disaster without any reason, only brought absolute destruction when it appeared!
It was as if someone had lightly brushed over a drawn map with an eraser.
Clean, as if it had never existed.
And this disaster was as if it were a curse accompanying the Spirit. Once a Spirit appeared in this world, a spacequake would inevitably occur.
Therefore, Spirits were regarded by humans as synonymous with disaster, and were constantly hunted and exterminated. And this time was no different.
The girl knew very well what awaited her.
Soon, a human special forces unit would arrive, and they would attack and even kill her without mercy.
A sorrowful expression flowed from the girl's eyes once more. She didn't want to act, she didn't want to fight, she didn't want to hurt others, but the girl was helpless.
Even she was disgusted with herself, disgusted with the self that destroyed everything and killed countless people just by appearing.
But even so, the girl wanted to live, just a simple wish to live, but...
Sighing once more, in this hellish scene, the girl's incredibly sad eyes looked towards the distant sky, but soon, an unnatural figure in the ruins caught her attention.
That... that's a survivor?!
A human was indeed lying in those ruins. A momentary flicker of emotion appeared on the girl's face, and then she walked towards that place.
Lying there quietly, as if asleep, was a particularly handsome man. The girl involuntarily picked him up and checked his breathing.
He was still breathing, it seemed he had just passed out.
For some reason, the girl breathed a sigh of relief, feeling relieved that the man was safe and sound.
Just as the girl was planning to take the man to a safe place, the sound of something tearing through the wind came from the distant sky.
Before she knew it, several strangely dressed humans were flying in the air... and, from the weapons in their hands, they were firing many missile-like things at the girl.
The missiles coming from the sky stopped several meters above the girl, as if they had been grabbed by an invisible hand.
The girl spoke, her tone flat and devoid of inflection.
"This kind of thing is useless, why haven't you learned yet!"
Still with that sorrowful look, the girl's eyes were filled with tiny cracks of pain.
As the girl finished speaking, she raised the hand that wasn't holding the sword, and then suddenly clenched it in the air towards the sky.
Soon, the missiles exploded on the spot, as if they had been compressed.
The scale of the explosion was surprisingly small. It was almost as if they had been detonated from the inside.
It could be seen that the people flying in the air were flustered and unable to do anything.
But, it seemed they had no intention of stopping their attack, and more missiles came flying.
"Hmph, you annoying guys, just disappear already!" The sword in her hand danced, directing the biting wind towards the sky.
It was just a casual wave like that.
Instantly... the wind shrieked.
Then, a violent shockwave swept over, the slash flying towards the sky along the extension of the sword.
The people flying in the sky frantically began to evade, moving away from that place.
In the instant of evading, they hadn't forgotten to continue attacking. Rays that looked incredibly spectacular visually shot from their mouths towards the dark purple-haired girl.
That light was blocked by an invisible wall above the girl, and the overflowing light scattered like falling water droplets, like fireworks in the night sky, flying in all directions with dazzling light.
Although she was saying those words, the girl hadn't actually used lethal force. The girl never intended to harm anyone, but these humans kept relentlessly pursuing her.
Then, after discovering that all the ranged attacks were ineffective, a figure rapidly descended.
Wearing machinery, that's probably what you'd call it.
A girl whose entire body was covered in an unknown bodysuit.
With a huge booster on her back, and carrying a weapon shaped like a golf club in her hand.
The girl had neat, silver-white short hair, and her eyes, staring at the purple-haired girl, were filled with hatred, as if the girl before her was her mortal enemy.
"You damned Spirit, put down the hostage!"
Noticing the man in the purple-haired girl's arms, the silver-haired girl said this angrily.
"It's not..."
"There's no point in saying more. Spirit, your hands are stained with blood, I'll kill you here today!"
As expected... it's useless no matter what I say, their goal is to kill me. Thinking this, the purple-haired girl's expression turned cold once more, devoid of any emotion.
