Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: Punished?

He held her in a tight embrace, savoring the warmth of his mother's love. This was the moment he had long wished for, the moment he wanted to happen, and finally it did.

It happened, after waiting for five years of suffering, he finally met his family.

If he had known that dying could give him a second chance, he would have ended his life long ago.

If he had done that then this chance would not have happened, since the old beggar was the one behind it, something he was not aware of.

Seeing her son like this, her face was filled with worry. She then looked at the culprit as if she wanted to devour him.

Ragnar seeing his wife's gaze, felt wronged. It was only a slap, and he had controlled his strength. The only thing he could do was curse his worthless son in his mind.

He was a great actor, an amazing one actually. This kind of scene was normal for him since Alexander had done this many times.

But this time, his acting seemed to have improved. There was no way you could cry this emotionally without any kind of experience.

"Let's leave, you are going to need some rest to calm your mind," she whispered to him while assisting him to stand up.

When she was slowly taking him outside the door, Ragnar stopped her.

"Honey, you can't. I'm still not done with the punishment," he said in a begging tone.

Seeing his father like this, he could not help but remember how his father was always so helpless when it came to his mother.

A warm smile began to form on his face, and this kind of smile did not escape Ragnar's notice. He gritted his teeth as he slapped the table again.

"Are you mocking your father, you troublesome child!!!" he roared loudly, wanting to hit him with pure strength, but with his mother present, he had nowhere to vent his anger.

Especially seeing her eyes that reminiscent of a dagger, he could only swallow a mouthful of saliva.

"Give me a reason why I can't even take my own son outside to rest Ragnar?!" she shouted, her voice filled with questioning.

"Because, because, he did something wrong, I can't let it slide honey," he said with a resolute expression.

"Then tell me what it is exactly Ragnar???"

"If you want to know, your proud and lovely son caused a bigger problem compared to everything he had done combined," he said his eyes ablaze.

"So?" Alexandria just crossed her arms, looking at him.

Seeing his wife's expression, which showed no care about the big trouble he had made, he decided to give her a bombshell.

"Your lovely and honest son just harassed the young lady of the Eriendel Family. Don't you know what this means?" he shouted.

His mother hearing this, especially the word 'harass' she narrowed her eyes. Alexander on the other hand, had no recollection of this at all.

He tried to remember, but there seemed to be nothing in his memory. Maybe if he had seen her, he might remember.

"Did you really do it?" his mother asked, looking at him with inquiry.

When asked, he did not remember who this woman was and had no recollection of her at all.

So he shook his head, if he remembered he would not lie at this moment since his old man is super mad at this moment.

"No, I don't remember," he replied.

"Then that settles it," she said with a smile, but inwardly she was a little disappointed in her little boy for lying.

But as a mother, even if she was biased, she would protect him no matter what.

Carrying him for nine months in her womb and watching him grow with love, she could not let her son suffer.

"You brat, you dare to lie in front of your mother and me!" a shout came, it was Ragnar who was explosively angered.

"You've really taken it too far, just because you're mother is here do you think she can protect you? Sebastian, go and lock him up for me for three days. No, one week. Wait, that's not enough. Make it fifteen days. That's right, fifteen days only in his room, this will teach him a lesson," he said, his eyes were burning with fire.

Hearing this, Alexandria was shocked, but before she could do anything, Sebastian was fast and pulled Alexander out of the room.

Seeing that her son was gone because of Sebastian's quick movements, Alexandria looked at her husband with a cold expression.

"You, you… are you really serious Ragnar? Fifteen days? Aren't you going too far?" she said, her eyes filled with coldness.

Seeing his wife's gaze made him very uncomfortable, but he needed to properly discipline his son.

If his father were to find out about this, the punishment might be expulsion from the family, since that old man already had enough of his son's shenanigans.

If he could not punish him, then he would have no excuse for the old man later on.

"It's needed Alexandria, just take a look at our son, he is literally a walking time bomb, always causing trouble everywhere. If we continue being soft on him, what will happen if he grows older and is still causing trouble? That will be a bad future, not only for him, but for us as well," he explained with a sigh.

Hearing this, for the very first time her heart wavered, but she still shot him a glare and looked away.

"Alright then, but if you punish him like this again, I will not let you off," she said, threatening him.

"That depends honey," he said with a sigh while shaking his head.

"Hpmh, then if that it's going to be then, for the next fifteen days you will sleep alone, and I will be sleeping in the guest room," she said as she left the room to visit her son.

Ragnar hearing this was stunned, now he really wanted to beat his son even more. He just punished his son in order to make him a good man, and now he was being punished for being a good father as well?

He could only slump in the chair as he put a hand on his face, "Hays, is there any way to put my son on the right path? If only that accident didn't happen when he was young, maybe he could have turned into a normal young man," he said, remembering the accident during one of their travels in the outskirts where bandits emerged.

He was not present at that time, only his wife and some guards, but that was enough to handle those lowly people.

But seeing them die and be killed traumatized him greatly, thus resulting him into this kind of worthless person.

Back in his room, while being dragged through the air by Sebastian he looks like a balloon, he was gently placed inside and Sebastian looked at him deeply.

"Young master, you heard your father right? For your punishment, you need to stay here for 15 days without leaving," he said to him.

In reply, Alexander just stood there feeling bad inwardly since he had just transmigrated here and really wanted to have some family bonding with them.

"Okay Uncle Sebastian," he said, deciding to wait for now.

Hearing him say this, Sebastian froze for a moment but quickly returned to normal as he looked at him.
