Voldemort, or rather, Nagini, walked the streets of Diagon Alley.
Seeing the unguarded expressions on the faces of passing wizards, the voice of Voldemort's soul echoed within Nagini:
"Look at them! These pigs have enjoyed peace for too long. I saw no fewer than three pure-blood wizards walking with lowly commoners—they've forgotten the honor that comes with blood."
Nagini didn't respond. She simply led Voldemort's soul through the streets, finally stopping at the Leaky Cauldron.
According to the soul, this method would allow it to quickly grasp the current state of the wizarding world—Voldemort's soul seemed to have stopped understanding fifty years ago, leaving it unaware of the savior, Harry Potter, or the identity of Damon White.
Nagini ordered a glass of Sparkling Kumquat Wine and sat in a corner, communicating with the soul within her mind.
"A twelve-year-old Transfiguration master? Such a person actually exists! If he and Dumbledore were to join forces, my defeat would be understandable.
But what is this Potter? A mediocre teenager, how could he escape my clutches?"
"Well, I don't know about that. Besides, that Transfiguration master, White, is only thirteen years old this year."
Nagini felt a moment of silence within her mind—a brief, but noticeable one.
The arrogant and cold tone suddenly faded, and after a second, she continued:
"Really? A thirteen-year-old Transfiguration master? He should still be in his second year at Hogwarts?"
Then came some remarks like, 'If I hadn't been lying low, I would have achieved the same accomplishments as him.' 'If I hadn't been hiding it from Dumbledore, I would have received advanced knowledge much earlier.'
It sounded as if he was comparing his own youthful achievements with Damon's current state.
And rightfully so. In Tom Riddle's mind, he was destined to become the greatest wizard—it was only a matter of time.
And now, it seemed as if an even more brilliant young man had emerged.
This made him nearly mad with jealousy!
"What are your plans?"
Nagini was apprehensive. She still carried within her five fragments of her main soul, but they were reserved for the remaining Horcruxes.
She hadn't dared tell her inner fragments about this—she felt something bad would happen if she did.
And indeed, her premonition had already come true.
She heard the sinister voice in her head quip,
"My plan? Whatever I want to do, I can come up with a thorough plan with just a little thought—countless successes have proven this.
But before that, there's one crucial prerequisite—no one can hold me back."
"Nagini, since you were once my loyal servant, I want to ask you: do you acknowledge the present me, the more perfect Tom Riddle from fifty years ago, as your master?"
"I... I don't know." Nagini felt apprehensive.
She didn't quite understand.
Why would she, who had once lived forever as a viper, accept such a master?
How did her soul function when she thought as a snake?
By now, she had actually begun to reject the person in her mind.
"Don't know? I don't like that answer!"
the evil voice roared, and Nagini felt her head begin to ache.
But soon, as if realizing something, the voice softened again.
"Never mind. You don't know me well enough, nor do you know the great Dark Lord well enough, so it's natural for you to be reluctant to trust me.
But since you were once my most loyal servant, I will naturally accept you. Nagini, tell me, what is my plan for you next?"
Nagini's heart began to beat faster. She instinctively wanted to lie, but she couldn't think of a good reason quickly, so she told the truth:
"Find the other Horcruxes and collect them."
"And then what? What to do?"
"..."
As Nagini fell silent, Tom realized something was wrong.
His voice became gentle and patient.
"Nagini, are you worried about me too? I am Voldemort, and Voldemort is me - although I am his soul, do you understand? He has split into too many souls, and his brain has become chaotic.
I am actually more perfect now - I am far wiser and smarter than I used to be. The best thing he did was to create the Horcrux when he was the most powerful and smart - in fact, I deserve your trust more than him.
Whether you want to fulfill his last wish or do something else, you can discuss it with me, and I will help you - after all, you are his most loyal servant, the only person he can trust, right?"
Nagini became hesitant. "Really? Then if I want to find a place to live a peaceful life, will you support me?"
"Of course, but the premise is that the two of us can't live in the same body forever - you don't want me to always be in your brain watching everything after you have a partner in the future, right?"
Nagini certainly didn't want to.
"Nagini, our situation is not good. Our enemies are formidable and growing rapidly. If we sluggishly, we might be discovered one day. Do you think Dumbledore will show any mercy to you, Voldemort's minion—to us?
He won't. He appears modest on the surface, but he's ruthless behind the scenes. I'm sure he'll kill us without hesitation.
I don't mean to rush you, but we simply don't have much time to delay."
He fell silent.
Nagini stared blankly at the wine glass before her, her thoughts racing.
Like this soul fragment, she had only recently formed, and her knowledge was even less than its own. She only remembered her past with Voldemort and her identity, but little about the current wizarding world.
She wondered if Dumbledore could be trusted, or if Master White possessed supernatural powers. Perhaps she should indeed cooperate with this soul fragment?
"Before Lord Voldemort disappeared, he entrusted his soul fragments to me - with these soul fragments, he can awaken the souls in the Horcruxes - just like you."!!!
"So, am I the first one with the honor?"
"Yes - according to the plan, I should go find the second Horcrux and awaken the remaining souls."
"What a stupid idea."
