Chapter 218 - Chapter 218 – The Herald of the End of the Lineage

I. Awakening in the Fog of the Oath

Edenfall hasn't fully awakened yet, but something in the air has changed. Akihiko walks through the streets, his gaze fixed on the sky, where the shadow he saw form the night before still hangs, as if looking down on everyone from above. Lirea, beside him, perceives an echo in the Void: a vibration that doesn't belong to any known mafia.

An emergency meeting is called by the leaders of the allied clans. Sael, Lirea, Akihiko, Vareen, and Yuno go to the ancient Hall of Testaments. There, they discover the symbol that was on the documents of the Sanguinary Archive: a black raven with a red teardrop. It is the forgotten emblem of the Noctheros Mafia , considered extinct for over a century.

II. The Anonymous Witness

During the meeting, a young man bursts in, covered in wounds. He's an unaffiliated messenger, who crawled from the south. A name crackles on his tongue: Zarek , the "Herald of the End of the Bloodline." He tells of entire villages razed to the ground, leaving no corpses—only symbols carved in stone and walls with words written in blood: "Blood must not be perpetuated . "

III. Sleeping Blood, Awakened Power

While studying the remains of the message, Sael discovers a numerical pattern in the Archive's writings. It's a genetic code that triggers a mutation in certain bloodlines. In short: some mafias were programmed to "awaken" if the Noctheros Mafia returned.

That night, Lirea collapses. A fragment of the forbidden bloodline slumbers within her blood. When she awakens, she is not only physically changed (her eyes glow with a black inner ring), but she possesses a new power: Inherited Silence , which allows her to briefly erase other people's abilities.

IV. First Confrontation: The Silent Dome

A village in the south is attacked by a hooded figure. Akihiko, Lirea, and Vareen rush to the scene. The scene is inhuman: no one is dead, but all the bodies are trapped in positions of suffering, as if frozen on the verge of screaming. The attacker is Reiss , one of Noctheros's high-ranking officers. His ability: Echo Seal , a barrier that eliminates sound and movement.

Vareen is captured. Akihiko struggles to maintain consciousness in that silent dome, but Reiss's power begins to corrupt even his Void. Lirea manages to use her Inherited Silence to counter the enemy's technique long enough to escape with Vareen gravely wounded.

V. The Eight Chambers of the Renaissance

Sael reveals a map hidden within the blood archives: the Eight Chambers of Rebirth , sealed structures in the underworld where Noctheros performed his rituals. Each chamber represents a "necessary death" in the bloodline's history.

The group decides to split up: Akihiko, Lirea, Sael and two new characters — Kaen , an exile from the fire mafia, and Nasha , an expert in visual energy manipulation — enter the first chamber: the Chamber of the Sealed Tongue.

VI. Chamber of the Sealed Tongue

There they discover that the walls are made of petrified flesh and that the entire place suppresses speech. The enemy forces them to communicate without words as they face symbolic creatures created from secrets never shared. Kaen, in an act of redemption, sacrifices himself to save Nasha and dies, unleashing a white fire that breaks the chamber's seal.

VII. The Echo of the Broken Fragments

As they escape, Akihiko suffers an internal breakdown: Reiss's technique has left a fracture in his connection to the Void. To prevent him from losing control, Sael temporarily implants him with an echo stabilizer , a sensory energy grid that allows him to maintain his consciousness only if another member of the team maintains visual contact with him.

VIII. Silent War Interlude

For two weeks, small cells of Noctheros attack villages, temples, and old refuges. The mafia world descends into paranoia. Clans reorganize. Some begin to ally themselves with Noctheros in secret out of fear. The law of blood is no longer respected: pacts are broken.

IX. The Voice that Awakens the Raven

Amidst the chaos, a child, an orphan from a destroyed village, appears in Edenfall. He repeats only one phrase: "He has spoken to us." No one knows how he got there. When he touches the city walls, they bleed.

Sael confirms what she feared: Zarek isn't just a leader. He's a Blood Vocalizer , a legendary figure who can rewrite memories through his voice. If he enters Edenfall, everyone could forget who they are... and serve him without knowing it.

X. Last scene – The Whisper in the Blood

Akihiko and Lirea, standing together on a tower, watch as the moon appears to have a cut in its surface. They don't say it, but they feel it: someone is watching them from within their own blood. Lirea takes her arm... and a word appears tattooed: Zarek .
