Chapter 230 - Chapter 231: The Shandia Guerrilla Squad Gets One-Shotted

Shandia tribe.

The great chief listened to his subordinate's report and was instantly shocked in his heart.

"Wyper, he… why would Gan Fall do such a thing!"

He hunched his body as he stood up, his old face filled with doubt.

"Chief, ever since that beast Enel drove Gan Fall off the throne of God, he's been acting as the Knight of the Sky."

"Calling him a knight is just words. In truth, he's nothing more than a mercenary, taking people's money to solve their problems."

"If not for us guerrillas constantly raiding pirate ships from the Blue Sea, how else would Gan Fall even find work!"

"That ungrateful bastard, not only does he fail to thank us, he actually took the chance to ambush our warrior Wyper! Absolutely hateful!"

The guerrilla making the report was one of Wyper's admirers, and at the same time, he deeply hated the Skypieans.

All he wanted was to dump all the blame onto Gan Fall, doing everything he could to wash away the shame of Wyper's defeat.

The great chief, though old, wasn't senile.

He only believed about seventy percent of the guerrilla's words.

The Skypieans under Gan Fall and the Shandia tribe had fought before, and even their negotiations had once collapsed.

But Gan Fall's desire for peace didn't seem fake, this much he still believed.

If not for Enel suddenly appearing, perhaps the Shandians and the Skypieans would already have reconciled, stepping together into a new era of peace.

"Ahh…" The chief sighed.

No matter what, the urgent matter right now was to rescue Wyper first.

Wyper wasn't only the descendant of the great warrior Kalgara, but also the pillar of Shandia's battle strength, his importance was self-evident.

"You go summon the guerrilla squad to go negotiate with Gan Fall. Bring Wyper back as soon as possible."

———

Pierre was nowhere to be found, and Gan Fall had no place to go, so he could only stay aboard Jotaro's ship.

"Up ahead is Heaven's Gate. Are you truly planning to pass through there?"

Nami waved her hand.

"Of course not! Where would we get that kind of money? Old man, you know this place so well, don't tell me you don't know of another route? You could help us bypass Heaven's Gate and reach Angel Island from the back, right?"

"There is." Nami's lips had just curled into a faint smile when Gan Fall immediately poured a bucket of cold water, "But, I forgot to tell you, God is all-knowing and almighty."

"Even if you bypassed through another route to the back, he would still know your movements and would still bring down God's punishment!"

At that moment, Nami suddenly had the urge to kick this old man off the ship.

"Gan Fall! Hand our warrior Wyper back to us at once!"

From the front of the ship, the Shandia guerrilla squad appeared.

They blocked the way forward, standing there and shouting loudly.

Hearing the commotion, Gan Fall, carrying the badly injured Wyper, stood up.

"The Shandia guerrilla squad?" He was a little surprised. "Why would they be here?"

He shouted back loudly toward the Shandians, "Hey! You came just in time, your warrior Wyper is right here with me!"

As he spoke, fearing they might not see clearly, he even gave a little shake of his shoulder to point him out.

Wyper was covered in wounds, his whole body stained with blood. With Gan Fall's shake, the unconscious Wyper furrowed his brows and groaned, coughing up a mouthful of fresh blood.

The lead Shandia guerrilla saw Wyper's miserable state, his eyes nearly splitting with rage, and thought Gan Fall was flaunting him at them.

"Arghhhh!"

He screamed in fury, long forgetting that the chief had sent him to negotiate.

"Gan Fall, I'll slaughter you!"

Nami stood at Gan Fall's side, noticing the commotion.

"Why are they so worked up?"

Gan Fall shook his head.

"In any case, just hand Wyper back to them."

At that moment, the leading guerrilla had already leapt up, taking out an Impact Dial and aiming right at Gan Fall's position, firing a shell.

"Idiot!" Wyper's subordinate, Kamakiri, kicked him flying. "If you accidentally hurt Wyper, what then!"

But he stopped him too late, the shell had already been launched.

Gan Fall didn't really pay any attention to that shot.

Because after Nami finished speaking, he had already noticed Pierre flying quickly from the horizon.

"Pierre! Where on earth did you go! Why didn't you come no matter how long I called for you!"

Gan Fall scolded Pierre a couple of times, then shook his head helplessly, "Forget it, at least you came. Little girl, let's part ways here."

But Pierre, who normally obeyed his every word, now completely ignored him.

It neighed excitedly, chasing after the Sea King ahead, having no intention of coming over.

To shake off Pierre's harassment, Starlight had already pushed her speed to the extreme.

By the time she realized Jotaro's ship was right in front of her, it was too late to slow down.

BOOM!

She crashed head-on into the ship.

The ship that had been sailing steadily suddenly shook violently.

Gan Fall, whose attention was all on Pierre above, stumbled, and Wyper slipped from his shoulder, getting flung away.

Kamakiri glared at the fallen guerrilla and scolded, "The mission the chief gave us was to negotiate with Gan Fall and bring Wyper back!"

"I know your family was cruelly killed by Skypieans in the past war, and you hate them deeply."

"But now is not the time for reckless personal grudges, Wyper is still in his hands, how could you attack rashly!"

The guerrilla hung his head in guilt, "Sorry, Captain Kamakiri."

Truly worthy of being the warrior who grew up with Wyper. Even now, he could stay calm.

His composure and broad-mindedness were something he himself couldn't begin to compare with.

He lifted his head, eyes filled with admiration as he looked at Kamakiri.

Crack!

Just a second ago Kamakiri had been calm, but now his rage nearly shattered his back teeth.

"Beast Gan Fall! You actually used Wyper's body to block the shell!"

He snatched a bazooka from his companion, and without hesitation fired a flaming round.

"Captain Kamakiri, Wyper is still over there, "

"Follow me! We'll butcher Gan Fall!"

At Kamakiri's command, the entire guerrilla squad surged from all directions, launching a grand assault at Jotaro's ship.

Staring at the burning rain of firebombs, Nami's very soul nearly flew out in fright.

Gan Fall climbed back to his feet, rubbing his dizzy head, and noticed the fiery lights coming from all around.

"Little girl, dodge quickly!"

In an instant, his eyes sharpened to steel, grabbing his lance and swinging it with fierce power.

All the incoming firebombs were cut apart.

"Hmph! My skills are even sharper now than in my prime!" Gan Fall spoke proudly.

For the sake of one day defeating Enel and reclaiming the throne of God, he had been training bitterly all these years.

Gan Fall wanted to show off a little longer, but the chill behind his back suddenly made him shiver.

The ship had already shaken violently, and with the noisy roars echoing, Jotaro's mood had sunk to rock bottom.

Coming out and seeing flames blazing on the railings, masts, and sails, his face was so dark it looked like water could drip from it.

"Gan Fall, your life is mine!"

Pushed by Skates, the guerrillas launched into the air, surrounding Gan Fall tightly.

The scene was truly magnificent.

Even Gan Fall's old face changed abruptly in expression at the sight.

But before he could react, the cold aura behind him exploded into terrifying pressure, like a storm of annihilation ripping past them all.

Conqueror's Haki.

In just an instant, not one guerrilla was left standing. Like birds struck down, they all fell to the ground.

Gan Fall knelt on the deck, gasping heavily, his body drenched in cold sweat.

'What terrifying pressure!'

That he managed to withstand it wasn't because he was that strong, it was because Jotaro had held back.

If he had unleashed his Haki fully, even the crewmates aboard the ship wouldn't have been spared.

Gan Fall raised his head with difficulty, looking at Jotaro walking forward, face cold as ice.

He realized he had underestimated this man.

Even from Enel, he had never felt such overwhelming force.
