Chapter 242 - Chapter 243: How Many Will Be Lying Down Later?

The noise inside the tavern gradually quieted, and everyone turned their eyes toward Nami.

"You stinking woman, what the hell are you saying?" Bellamy was unhappy, "Sky Island exists? That's the funniest joke I've ever heard!"

Being stared at by so many fierce and vicious people, Nami panicked a little, but still mustered her courage.

"The funny ones are you! Never having seen Sky Island, you just say Sky Island doesn't exist. How is that any different from a frog at the bottom of a well?"

"What right do you have to laugh at others?"

Bellamy pressed closer step by step.

"Oh? So by that, does it mean you've been to Sky Island?"

Nami shrank back slightly. "Yes, we just came back from Sky Island."

Bellamy's footsteps halted, then he threw his head back in wild laughter.

"You must be delusional! Just came back from Sky Island? Hahaha, unbelievable. Who brought this stupid woman out here? I'm going to laugh myself to death."

Vivi stepped forward, standing shoulder to shoulder with Nami.

"I can testify, I was with her!"

She couldn't bear so many people bullying Nami alone.

The pirates inside the tavern also laughed so hard they were almost falling over.

"Which ship are they from? One ship can gather both Crouching Dragon and Young Phoenix? Their captain must be really blessed."

Being mocked like this by so many people, Vivi and Nami's faces burned red.

Of those present, aside from Jotaro, only two believed their words.

Luffy and Zoro had unknowingly stood up, their eyes sparkling.

"You've been to Sky Island? Is that true?"

Nami nodded.

"Of course it's true."

Luffy's face was full of excitement, "We want to go to Sky Island too, can you tell us the route?"

Nami thought for a moment and said, "As long as you head to a place called the Peak of the Western Sky, from there you can ride the Knock Up Stream all the way up…"

She spoke vividly, painting such a picture that it felt like being there.

The people present couldn't quite tell if she was lying anymore.

"Ridiculous!" Sarquiss cut her off, "I've been active on the Grand Line for so long, yet I've never heard of any place called the Peak of the Western Sky."

Nami sneered, "Of course you wouldn't have heard of it. The Peak of the Western Sky is a place trash like you, who do nothing but ridicule other people's dreams, will never reach in your lifetime!"

Sarquiss' fists creaked as he clenched them, his face dark as iron.

Luffy completely believed Nami's words.

"Zoro, let's go find the Peak of the Western Sky!"

He dragged Zoro with him and started heading out without lingering even a moment.

"Hey, the sea's so vast, where the hell are we supposed to find the Peak of the Western Sky?" Zoro was speechless.

Suddenly, a round object was thrown over. Zoro, quick-eyed and quick-handed, caught it.

He looked toward Jotaro, who was drinking alone before the broken bar counter, and asked, "What's this?"

"A Log Pose to the Peak of the Western Sky. I don't need it anymore, so I'll give it to you."

Jotaro finished speaking and continued drinking, never turning around, as if he hadn't put the matter in his heart at all.

"You really are a good guy."

Luffy, carelessly grateful, left the tavern with Zoro.

"Who the hell is that guy?"

Everyone stared at Jotaro, whispering in discussion.

"A Log Pose to the Peak of the Western Sky, could Sky Island really exist?"

"It's possible, I mean, they sounded like it was real."

———

"Shut the hell up, all of you!" Sarquiss cut them off, "Don't let yourselves be fooled by them."

"This man and those women are clearly in cahoots."

He stormed over to Jotaro's side aggressively.

"Oh? Looking closer, he's even wearing the same clothes as that so-called 'First Man of the New Era.' Hahaha, this brat, just like those two women, is also a fool."

The pirates at the tables roared with laughter, "Yeah, everyone knows the person Bellamy hates most is that guy… Doflamingo… hahaha."

"The First Man of the New Era, what a joke! A bounty as high as one billion? The government's money is really getting easier to earn these days."

"Only idiots would worship such an empty-name guy."

"He dares to dress like this and show up before Bellamy? Not afraid of dying, is he?"

From their talk, Nami realized these people's scorn was not for someone pretending to be Jotaro, but for Jotaro himself.

"Why is Jotaro so strong yet still can't gain the respect of these pirates?"

She couldn't understand.

"Very simple."

It was Bellamy Pirates' doctor, Muret, a pink-haired woman with a beauty mole beneath her left eye.

Propping her chin with one hand, she looked at Nami.

"A nobody suddenly being given a government bounty of one billion berries. Such a high bounty, of course it makes people pay attention."

"Every day, countless people all over the world are asking about his past deeds."

"But what's disappointing is, this man is nothing special. Apart from defeating two trash pirate crews in East Blue, there's nothing worth mentioning."

There were mainly two reasons Jotaro's bounty was so high.

First, he had provided Monkey D. Dragon with new revolutionary ideas.

In the eyes of the World Government, this was extremely dangerous. Not only would they never publicize it, they would even go out of their way to cover it up.

Second, his own strength rivaled that of a Emperor, and he had escaped from Admiral Akainu's siege.

The Navy would never reveal such a thing that would damage their prestige.

So Jotaro's bounty was sky-high, but many didn't know why.

The stories spreading about him so far were only that he defeated the Buggy Pirates and Arlong Pirates in East Blue.

The leaders of those two pirate crews had bounties of only 15 million and 20 million.

On the Grand Line, those didn't even make the table.

So many pirates here had this mindset, 'If I were in his place, I could do it too.'

'Why should his bounty reach one billion?'

That was what everyone here felt in their hearts.

Watching Bellamy slowly walk toward Jotaro's side, Muret laughed, "Another good show to watch. When someone dresses like this, Bellamy usually beats them half to death."

Hearing these people belittle and insult Jotaro again and again, Nami was so furious her lungs were about to explode.

She sneered, "Yes, a good show indeed. But this isn't some impostor. He is the real Jotaro Kujo!"

Muret suddenly turned her head toward Nami.

"What did you say?"

Nami didn't answer, instead she asked, "Guess how many people here will be lying on the floor later."

Jotaro drained the wine in his glass in one gulp and even burped.

He just kept drinking, as if he paid no attention to anything happening around him.

"Another glass." He set his cup down on the counter.

"This one's on me." Bellamy, smiling, walked over to Jotaro's side and said.
