Chapter 247 - Chapter 248: The Seven Warlords Conference

Garp yawned, and after throwing the solid iron cannonball, he lazily walked toward the cabin, wanting to catch some sleep.

He was extremely confident in his own strength.

After taking a hit like that, don't even mention an ordinary pirate ship, even the Pirate King Roger's Oro Jackson would've been blown open with a huge hole.

If the ship across from them didn't break apart on the spot, it was already considered lucky.

From the sky came the howling sound of wind, and it grew more and more violent.

The navy soldiers all turned their heads.

Garp also suddenly stopped mid-step.

"Hm?"

He slowly turned around.

In his sight, a blazing red sphere was rapidly flying toward him.

Its speed was several times faster than when he had thrown it.

"Good kid!"

Garp was shocked to the core and shouted loudly. "Quick, get out of the way!"

If a navy man were struck by this scorching iron ball, his body would quickly melt, causing irreversible injury.

Even though he warned them in time, ordinary navy soldiers didn't have his kind of ability, and against this supersonic strike, there was simply no way to dodge.

Helpless, Garp could only throw himself forward, using a fist wrapped in Haki to knock the iron ball aside.

Two surging forces of Haki collided.

The terrifying impact ripped the bow of the ship into pieces.

All the navy soldiers on it were blasted away.

With a loud shout, Garp no longer tried to reduce the force within the solid iron ball but instead knocked it off to the side.

Crack!

Although in the end his own warship was saved, the navy ship next to it was directly pierced through by the cannonball.

"Compartment One is leaking!"

"The keel is shattered!"

"This ship can't be saved!"

Panic-filled cries of navy men came from the ship.

Garp glanced once and muttered, "No wonder Tsuru fears him so much. At such an age, to already show this kind of astonishing power… truly remarkable."

"Vice Admiral Garp, what just happened?" Jabra came forward and asked.

He had only been distracted for a moment, how had the situation suddenly flipped so drastically?

Garp didn't care much for these government intelligence agents.

"Didn't you see? Our ship was attacked."

He waved his hand impatiently. "Say, why are you all still here? Quick, get off the ship, don't get in the way of us returning to base."

He and the World Government were not of one mind. This trip wasn't truly about capturing Jotaro, but just to go through the motions for the government.

After all, when they called him directly, he had to at least put on a show.

Now with the warships damaged, he didn't even need to come up with an excuse.

Jabra stood there dumbfounded.

Just one hit and he wasn't continuing?

And he was telling him to get off the ship?

Was this a joke? He couldn't swim!

Garp couldn't be bothered with him and gave the order.

"Turn the rudder, return to base!"

But just as his words fell, the sky again roared, anti-ship missiles, like divine weapons, fell from above, striking the stern of a warship with precision.

In an instant, fire burst out everywhere, fragments flew through the sky.

The navy suffered countless casualties.

"What is this weapon? It can fire from that far away?"

Watching this scene, Garp could hardly believe it.

The cannons mounted on navy warships usually had a range within thirty nautical miles. Beyond that, it was usually up to him to act personally.

After all, in the pirate world, strong individuals were far more powerful than ordinary weapons.

What he hadn't expected was that the weapons on Jotaro's ship could strike targets even over thirty nautical miles away.

The navy did have cannons with long range, but their accuracy was low.

Firing at such distance usually required dozens or even hundreds of shells, in a carpet-bombing style, just to possibly hit something.

But missiles like the ones Jotaro fired, long range and highly accurate, Garp had never seen in his life.

With just a single missile, they had precisely hit the warship's bridge.

Navy warships were extremely sturdy.

To sink one with a single missile wasn't realistic.

So Mr. 9 aimed directly at the warship's bridge.

Destroy the bridge, and the warship was basically finished.

"Here comes another one!"

Hearing the roar in the sky, the navy men, like startled birds, immediately abandoned ship and jumped into the sea.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

The anti-ship missiles had a range close to a thousand nautical miles, and at under a hundred miles, the margin of error was basically negligible.

Every missile hit a critical point of the warships.

Explosions thundered one after another, until all five warships Garp had brought were completely destroyed.

Now even returning was a problem.

Floating on the surface of the sea, Garp gnashed his teeth in anger.

"This kid really is ruthless! Damn it, what the hell are these weapons?!"

"Quick, contact headquarters, have them send someone to pick us up!" he shouted to his men.

Now, even if he wanted to catch Jotaro, there was nothing he could do. By the time a fleet from headquarters arrived, Jotaro would've long been gone.

The three from CP9 were also soaked like drowned rats. Kumadori and Fukurou dragged Jabra out of the sea.

Jabra nearly coughed up his lungs, drinking seawater twice in one day, he had never been this humiliated before.

"That bastard!"

Right now, his hatred for Jotaro was etched into his bones.

"Our mission seems to have failed," Fukurou said to him, "What do we do? Should we contact Chief Spandam and report the situation to him?"

As he spoke, he pulled a Den Den Mushi from his pocket and was about to call Spandam.

"No way!" Jabra snatched the Den Den Mushi, "You want us to never be able to lift our heads in front of that bastard Rob Lucci again?"

Fukurou didn't really care about such things.

"He's even stronger than we imagined. The situation now is already beyond our control. Having the chief send someone stronger over is the best…"

"Shut up!" Jabra roared, his face dark and gloomy.

"With weapons that powerful, that guy's ship must be hiding some kind of secret."

"Don't forget, we're agents! We should solve this in our own way."

"We haven't lost yet!"

———

[Holy Land Mary Geoise]

Hundreds of navy soldiers stood in strict formation at the harbor.

Their backs were straight, their faces like stone carvings. Even though they were veterans of many battles, at this moment they still felt an inexplicable pressure.

Because, the Seven Warlords of the Sea were arriving.

"The government hasn't held such a grand meeting in a long time…" a younger soldier muttered under his breath, "I wonder what they're calling them here for this time…"

"Shut up!" The officer beside him glared coldly, his breathing unconsciously growing heavier. "They're here!"

Doflamingo strode in, draped in his pink feather coat, sunglasses on his face, grinning wide, both hands in his pockets, walking with arrogance.

The unconcealed wave of Conqueror's Haki from his body caused two rows of navy soldiers beside him to foam at the mouth and collapse one after another.

Behind him followed the Tyrant, Bartholomew Kuma.

The two walked straight into the meeting hall. Before they even sat down, Hawk-Eye Mihawk came stepping in, his gait as sharp as blades.

Right after him, outside the door appeared the noble figure of the Pirate Empress, Hancock.

Looking at that cold and beautiful face, navy soldiers all nearly fell to their knees in worship.

"Hmph…" Hancock gave a soft snort, eyes straight ahead, walking gracefully with lotus-like steps.

Behind her came Gecko Moria, and the Sea Knight, Jinbei.
