Chapter 141 - 140-Training Regimen

After dinner concluded, Sieg arranged evening training for his Pokémon.

Crawdaunt naturally needed no explanation, it was learning Rain Dance from Castform. The technique was now proficiently mastered; the next goal was continuously expanding its range and rainfall intensity.

Since consuming the talent enhancement potion, Sharpedo's progress felt remarkably swift. Currently, it was training Ice Fang, Poison Fang, and similar moves. After all, it couldn't rely solely on Crunch, other attribute-based biting techniques also required proficient mastery.

Fortunately, during the last potion's creation, Sieg had mixed in a Walrein tusk, resulting in Sharpedo's improved aptitude for controlling Ice-type energy.

Umbreon currently needed to learn Dark Pulse and Attract. As techniques just recently learned via TMs, they required practice for smooth use in battle.

Among these, Dark Pulse was the highest priority, after all, it was Umbreon's only offensive move that benefited from the same Type Attack Bonus.

Worth mentioning: the Hidden Power TM Umbreon had used previously turned out to be Psychic-type.

This pleasantly surprised Sieg. After all, Psychic-type itself was powerful and mysterious, countering both Poison and Fighting-types.

Fighting-types were currently the only weakness in Sieg's team composition, completely countering his Dark-types.

To counter Fighting-types required Flying, Psychic, or Fairy-types.

Fairy-types hadn't yet appeared in the world, but now possessing Murkrow and Umbreon's Psychic Hidden Power, he at least had some resistance.

Sandile's training was much simpler. Besides perfecting Stomp mastery, it needed to proficiently control its four egg moves.

With talent rivaling Murkrow's, and even superior after consuming the rare potion, Sieg held high expectations for Sandile.

As for Murkrow, its level was now approaching 27, having essentially caught up with Umbreon. Sieg's training plan for it had only one focus:

Frantically learning various status moves.

After all, upon evolving into Honchkrow, the Prankster ability would disappear, transforming into Moxie.

At that point, learning status moves would become far more difficult. Learning as many as possible now provided insurance for the future.

Of course, Murkrow had also begun exploring the egg move Brave Bird. As one of Flying-type's ultimate techniques, its difficulty was self-evident.

"Although I already have a high-grade Dusk Stone, evolution should wait. After all, Murkrow's physical potential hasn't reached its limit yet."

Sieg gazed at the dark stone stored in the exquisite gift box on his desk, feeling reassured.

This Dusk Stone was unmistakably high-grade quality, meaning purity above 90, specifically 93.97.

Yes, precise to two decimal places.

According to Steven, if purity could reach 94, the price would increase significantly.

Even so, this 93-plus purity Dusk Stone had cost Sieg nearly 2 million Pokédollars.

Sieg could only do his utmost to ensure Murkrow's superior training conditions, creating the best evolution circumstances. He absolutely couldn't use an ordinary Dusk Stone and call it good enough.

As for the mid-grade Dusk Stone obtained from the Battle Club, Sieg had directly sold it to a shop in Fallarbor Town, barely recouping a few hundred thousand Pokédollars.

The Pokémon's training was quite arduous. Watching them, Sieg felt rather gratified. After organizing all of Chikorita's data, he began designing its training plan and specialized Pokéblocks.

Luna's Chikorita possessed decent talent in energy control, but correspondingly, its physical strength fell slightly below average standards.

Additionally, due to inheriting Grassy Terrain, Sieg had specifically inquired about this Chikorita's parents, learning its mother was a Roserade with the Natural Cure ability.

Therefore, after testing, Sieg discovered this Chikorita was quite sensitive to gentle healing-attribute energy. In other words, it possessed talent for healing techniques.

"Early stages should focus on training Leech Seed, Reflect, Light Screen, and similar moves, developing Chikorita's support capabilities, supplemented by Synthesis, Grassy Terrain, and other healing techniques for practice."

"During training, Chikorita should remain in sunlight as much as possible, constantly basking in solar energy."

"The ring of green buds around Chikorita's neck will gradually bloom through evolution, finally becoming petals when it evolves into Meganium. These petals can emit a fragrance that calms Pokémon's angry emotions and reduces the enemy's fighting spirit."

Sieg began utilizing his Junior Breeder knowledge reserves, writing furiously in the planning notebook. Such training plans required custom tailoring for each Pokémon.

Initially, Sieg could only explore independently. Fortunately, after contacting President Hogan of the Rustboro City Breeder's Guild, Sieg managed to receive some guidance.

With direction, things became manageable, directly applying templates and adapting according to his understanding of the Pokémon.

As for custom Pokéblocks...

"Bellossom's fallen petals, Roselia's nectar, berries from Elite-level or higher Cherrim... let's tentatively use these materials. Supporting ingredients can be gradually tested and supplemented."

Sieg's Pokéblock formula would help increase the Pokémon's talent for healing techniques, making it more sensitive to gentle healing energy with superior control.

Of course, Sieg alone couldn't complete the Pokéblock creation. He'd naturally need to consult his senior, Master Hogan.

As president of the Rustboro City Breeder's Guild, Hogan was naturally happy to guide this talented young protégé.

Sieg began attempting Pokéblock creation. While he felt quite confident in this formula, after all, from every perspective, he couldn't detect any flaws...

But practice proved worthy.

Sieg didn't dare to hold absolute confidence, especially with those complex supporting ingredients requiring individual testing.

Every Pokéblock formula embodied breeders' endless dedication and those flashes of inspiration.

"Hmm? Would adding Sunkern leaf fragments be better?"

"No, no, Flabébé pollen also seems good."

"Skiddo leaves and milk also seem like excellent materials, possessing certain healing properties."

In a second-floor room of the estate, lights blazed all night. From outside, one could vaguely see a young man seated at the desk, writing intensely.

At night, the Pokémon had all fallen into a deep sleep, leaving only Umbreon and Murkrow still accompanying Sieg. After all, these two were nocturnal, actually becoming more active at night.

Therefore, Sieg had consistently assigned them personal guard and sentry duties.

Although the Solance family estate was extremely safe, the two had formed these habits and remained dutifully vigilant.

"Umbre~"

"Kaw..."
