Zane's brows drew tightly together, twitching as if they were about to leap off his face. The GIRD officer had already carried the little girl away, disappearing into one of the healing rooms.
"Why would that child…" Serein asked hoarsely, disbelief roughening her voice. "…have the levo of a Hunter?"
Sylvan pressed two fingers lightly to the bridge of his nose, forcing down a heavy breath. He had no obligation to explain anything to outsiders, but what had just happened unfolded right in front of them. There was no point trying to hide it.
"That was a special case," he said at last. "An early awakening."
"Early awakening?" She repeated, as if saying it aloud might help her believe it.
"The cause hasn't been identified yet." Sylvan replied. "She's an orphan. Found unconscious near a Gate site."
