Kid Flash let Adam's punch pass through him without any problem and counterattacked with his Diable Jambe.
"You are not even worthy of going to Hell," Wally declared, his lightning-covered blades ready for a second round. Adam roared and charged forward, and Kid Flash did not stay behind. He also rushed forward, his arms covered in fire and lightning, ready to fight.
Fist collided with fist at the center of the other battles, which was by far the most violent. Blows flew endlessly, and lightning was everywhere, whether from Kid Flash or Adam. Blue lightning and Adam's black lightning clashed as both proved to be terrifying opponents.
"Now I understand. The Ring of Greed. That explains how you can keep up with me in raw power," Adam commented, finally understanding why he could currently use only half of his power.
"I don't know your name. Why don't you introduce yourself and tell me your ridiculous hero name?" Adam declared with an arrogant smile.
"My name is Savitar, a member of Young Justice. They sent me to take out the trash, but wait, you're less than trash. You're nothing but filth. And let's not even talk about your costume. You're a clown, a puppet," Kid Flash declared seriously, enraging Adam. Adam roared and charged once more, and Kid Flash met him head-on as the two began beating each other without mercy.
Kid Flash had no room to use any of his special moves. He could only strike or dodge Adam's attacks.
Unknown Location
Cheshire, Deathstroke, Sportmaster, Ra's, and Talia remained silent. None of them took their eyes off the battle between Savitar and Adam as they exchanged fist after fist, kick after kick, and even a few headbutts.
"How long do you think your prey will last, Deathstroke? Even I know that kid can't keep this up forever," Sportmaster declared.
Everyone agreed. Even when Savitar managed to knock Adam down, Adam got back up almost immediately, never giving Savitar a proper chance to breathe.
Savitar vs Adam
Savitar spat blood while panting heavily. Adam wasn't doing much better. He was covered in cuts and bruises. It didn't matter that Adam could heal himself with lightning magic. The Blades of Pride always left their mark. The wounds were impossible to heal completely and the pain lingered no matter how fast the victim recovered. He would feel the pain from those cuts for the rest of the day.
Both men were breathing heavily from exhaustion.
"Kid Flash," Aqualad called out.
"Don't even think about interfering or I'll send you flying," Wally declared with the smile of a madman. He could feel his entire body burning from the strain of fighting Adam, but he could not back down now.
"Don't be stubborn!" Artemis shouted while tightening the ropes that restrained the rest of the Injustice League.
"As I said, I am more than enough."
The two resumed fighting without mercy. Their fists slammed into each other's bodies. Savitar struck Adam's face, liver, abdomen, and sliced across his entire body in an attempt to make him bleed out. But Savitar was losing too. He could no longer feel his left arm. His chest was in agony. His knuckles screamed in pain. Yet he refused to retreat.
At that moment members of the Justice League began arriving. Even unofficial members such as Icon, his protégé Rocket, Plastic Man, and another Green Lantern appeared. Batman arrived with Zatara, while Flash, Black Canary, and Green Arrow watched from above. Captain Atom arrived alongside Martian Manhunter, Hawkgirl, Hawkman, Superman, and Wonder Woman. Shazam was ready to intervene.
"Don't move. We could hurt Savitar," Batman declared seriously.
The League moved to surround the remaining members of the Injustice League still at large, including Poison Ivy and Ultra-Humanite.
Five seconds later, Savitar landed a punch that forced Adam two steps backward before he collapsed to his knees. Savitar remained standing.
Adam tried to rise, but Wonder Woman and Hawkgirl stopped him.
"Don't move, Black," Wonder Woman declared while placing her sword against Adam's neck. Hawkgirl held her mace beside Diana's blade.
"A monster," Adam muttered.
"This time the Justice League found a monster on its side. I never thought I'd see someone with those eyes fighting for you."
He laughed.
"Savitar!" Robin ran to his friend's side.
The vital signs were dropping. Robin approached and widened his eyes in realization.
"He's..." Robin choked.
"He's unconscious."
The declaration shocked everyone. Wally was still standing despite being unconscious.
"Took you long enough to notice," Adam commented.
He could not move. He had noticed the paralyzing poison in his body. He was too weak to resist. He could also feel the seals weakening him. He had fought a monster determined to make him bleed to death.
"He's been unconscious for more than thirty seconds."
The statement shocked everyone even further.
"Even unconscious, I don't know how, but he kept hitting me."
Adam stared seriously at Savitar's rolled-back eyes.
"Even unconscious he's still staring at me with that intensity."
Adam took a breath.
"I, Black Adam, declare you, Savitar, the strongest human on Earth!"
He roared before collapsing backward into unconsciousness himself.
Robin checked his friend's vitals and did not like what he saw.
"We are losing him!" he shouted.
Flash rushed over to help his protégé.
"Where do I take him?" Flash asked worriedly.
"To the Cave. Wally has equipment there."
Flash looked at him.
"There is no time to explain. Take him there now."
Flash nodded.
"Miss Martian!"
The Bio-Ship appeared and Robin wasted no time boarding. The rest of the team followed.
"Zatara, Canary, Arrow, Aquaman, and Manhunter with me. The rest secure them," Batman ordered as he followed the team.
Mount Justice
"Help me remove his armor," Robin ordered.
Flash obeyed.
Robin rushed toward a tank filled with green liquid in the center of the room and quickly pressed several controls.
"I need him completely naked. The machine doesn't work with non-organic materials inside."
Robin continued preparing the machine.
"Now connect the diagnostic systems."
He attached several cables and injected Wally with something no one recognized, though everyone trusted Robin knew what he was doing.
Flash and Batman helped place Wally inside the nearly three-meter-tall spherical machine. It was black and oval-shaped with a transparent panel that allowed everyone to see Wally floating inside the green liquid.
Several screens beside the machine displayed Wally's vital signs.
Robin carefully checked every component of the machine. He made sure Wally's breathing tube was functioning properly and that the oxygen tank was full.
"Good," Robin sighed as he finally sat down.
"Status?" Batman requested calmly.
"Wally has half of his ribs broken. The bones in his left arm are nearly destroyed. His knuckles are practically dust. He has severe bruising all over his body. In short, if it weren't for his accelerated healing factor, Wally would have died from Adam's very first punch."
The room fell silent.
"The fact that he was still breathing when he arrived here is a miracle."
Robin continued monitoring the vitals.
Then the numbers began dropping.
"No! No!" Robin shouted as he typed furiously.
"Robin!" Kaldur shouted.
"Get out!" Robin yelled.
"You're not helping. Only Wally and I know what these machines do and how to use them properly."
"But—" Megan tried.
"You heard him," Conner declared.
"We're only getting in the way."
The clone pushed everyone out, whether they were members of the Team or the League.
As they left, they could see electricity coursing through the machine and shocking Wally's body.
Megan and Artemis cried while Conner and Green Arrow comforted them.
The doors closed.
The last thing they saw was a frustrated Robin furiously typing in an attempt to save his friend.
