Chapter 122 - Chapter 122: Studying

"By the way, are we really going to your bedroom to study? This… isn't that a bit inappropriate?"

Nohara Sato looked at Hirasawa Yui in surprise.

Yui waved her hand carelessly. "It's fine!"

Even so, that was still a girl's bedroom. Was it really okay to go in and out so casually?

Sato muttered inwardly.

But since Yui herself did not mind, he did not say anything more.

So after finishing the snacks prepared by Ui, the members of the Light Music Club all squeezed into Yui's room.

Fortunately, her room was fairly spacious. Even with all of them inside, it did not feel too crowded.

After entering, Sato tried to keep his gaze from wandering, in case he saw something he should not, like the last time he entered Gabriel's room, where he had seen things like scattered underwear.

Although not all girls were like Gab, if something like that happened, it would be awkward.

"Hehe! Sato, this is a girl's room, you're really not curious at all?"

Ritsu seemed to notice his unease. She chuckled and leaned close to him, whispering.

Hearing this, Sato rolled his eyes and replied without backing down, "It's not like I haven't seen one before. What's there to be curious about?"

"Huh?!"

Ritsu exclaimed, then looked at him suspiciously. "You've really seen one before?"

This girl…

Seeing her expression, Sato felt speechless. Back when he lived in the countryside, he often visited the homes of several girls. He had been in all of their rooms… and in the end, the furnishings were all pretty similar.

"Tch!"

Seeing Sato ignore her, Ritsu clicked her tongue in annoyance.

"Alright, Sato, ignore Ritsu. Let's hurry and start helping Yui study!"

Mio looked at Ritsu helplessly, then told Yui, who was beside her, to bring out her textbooks and exercise sheets.

As the top student not just in the Light Music Club, but in the entire first year, the task of tutoring Yui naturally fell to Sato.

But speaking of which, even with the two best students in first and second year present in the club room, Yui still failed. That was honestly quite embarrassing.

Mio sighed softly.

Aside from her bed, Yui's room only had a desk, a bookshelf, and a low table.

Sato sat at the low table and looked at Yui, who was already sitting upright across from him. "So, Yui, how many subjects did you fail?"

"Math and physics!"

"Only those two?"

Sato let out a sigh of relief. If it was those two subjects, they could indeed be improved in a short period of time. If it were something like English, that would not be so easy.

High school subjects were not about innovation, but about learning. Everything was already established. One only needed to understand a few fixed formulas and rules. Passing was not difficult as long as one put in the effort.

"Then let's start with the scope of this exam."

The room suddenly fell quiet, with only Sato's voice as he explained lessons echoing inside.

Mio sat beside Yui, watching her take notes. Kotobuki Tsumugi sat quietly to the side, observing everything with a gentle smile, showing no sign of impatience.

As for Ritsu…

"Mio."

Sato suddenly called out without looking up.

"Yes!"

Mio responded calmly. A faint light flickered in her eyes, as if she already knew what Sato was about to say. At that moment, the two seemed unusually in sync.

"Could you trouble yourself to throw out the one who's been disrupting everyone's concentration from the very beginning?"

"Yes!"

"Eek!"

Ritsu, who had been rolling around on the bed laughing while reading manga, suddenly froze. She lifted her head and looked at Mio, who was walking toward her with a dark expression. Her cheerful face instantly turned panicked.

"I-I was just reading manga!"

Sitting on Yui's bed, she shrank back toward the corner, stammering as she looked at Mio approaching.

"You… don't you have any awareness at all?!"

Mio's eye twitched. She reached out and grabbed Ritsu by the back of her collar, dragging her off the bed and toward the door.

Sato remained calm, not surprised in the slightest.

As expected, just as he had predicted before coming.

With Ritsu around, Yui's study efficiency would drop significantly, because that girl simply could not stay still.

After Ritsu was dragged out, the room became quiet once again.

Sato lifted his eyelids slightly and looked at Yui, who seemed a bit distracted. In a calm tone, he said, "Don't look at them. Focus all your attention on the exercise in front of you."

"Yes!"

Yui trembled slightly and responded loudly without thinking.

Her entire body snapped into focus, and the fatigue she had felt earlier vanished instantly. She poured all her attention into the exercise book in front of her.

When he suddenly got serious, Sato felt kind of scary!

Yui shouted inwardly.

With Sato supervising her, she maintained full concentration. Her speed in absorbing knowledge and solving problems was quite fast.

However, as Sato watched her working seriously, a hint of confusion appeared in his eyes.

After he explained the formulas, Yui could quickly apply them. There was no need for repeated explanation. From this, it was clear that her learning ability was actually quite strong.

But… why had she failed?

Did she really not study at all during class?

Sato felt puzzled. He could believe that Yui often got distracted in class, but that she did not study at all was impossible.

So how exactly had she failed?

A few days later, during Light Music Club practice, he would come to understand everything…
