"I'm Maren." She said. "A warrior, and I run messages between the cities. If you want to hear my honest opinion then I'll tell you." She folded her arms and said quite rudely and blankly. "I think this is all a mistake. A weak girl who can't see has no place beside the Alpha. You're not fit to be Luna."
Gasps rose, a few members shifting uneasily. Someone muttered, "Maren—" in warning. She was too much.
Even if Lilah was condoning it, she didn't have to be so rude. She was still the Luna after all.
But Lilah laughed softly, the sound light and clear as if she had been told a pretty silly joke.
"Perhaps you're right, Maren. I may look weak. But you'll see in time that strength isn't always what the eyes recognize. And if you still think me unfit later, I'll welcome your words again. And maybe then I'll give you a different response all together."
Maren froze, color rushing to her face in anger. She turned away quickly, muttering something about 'watching her'.
