Chapter 273 - If you thought this couldn’t get any more chaotic… you were wrong. Part 3

If you thought this couldn't get any more chaotic… you were wrong.

Part 3

"Wow," Susan said as she watched everything that had happened in just a few seconds. Compared to this, any of the other battles looked pretty unimpressive next to Harry's.

Then she looked toward Wanda, who was taking pictures like a proud mother watching her son.

For a moment, Susan felt that rather than wanting to teach their children a lesson for entering such a dangerous tournament, both Wanda and Narcissa were actually deeply proud of them and wanted to see them show what they were made of.

Or maybe it was just her imagination.

"Come on, Terra! Kick his ass!" Tommy shouted not too far from them, instead of cheering for his own older brother.

Susan simply smiled faintly.

But suddenly she felt someone staring at her.

For a moment she tried to find where that feeling was coming from, the one that had sent a small chill down her spine. She glanced toward the Slytherin stands, but if the gaze had come from that direction, she didn't give it much thought.

Ever since she had become a professor, some students from that house always tried to provoke her, hinting that she was a muggle, that she wasn't a real witch, or wondering how she had even managed to get into Hogwarts. Others simply tried to look down on her.

Fortunately, many Ravenclaw students, especially those interested in the muggle world, usually surrounded her and helped her whenever those troublesome students started making their comments.

Susan turned her gaze back toward the arena, where Harry was fighting what, from her point of view, was the very personification of beauty.

For a moment she thought it might have been a good idea to bring Wendell along to watch the spectacle. But he, together with Lupin and Tonks, seemed to be searching for something in the muggle world at Narcissa's request. And since Wendell understood that side of the world far better than the other two, he had offered to help them.

Meanwhile, in the middle of the arena, Harry dodged the roots surrounding him, forming a dome that was closing tighter and tighter around him.

Harry began shoving vials into his mouth one after another, swallowing their contents instantly.

His skin changed colors several times.

Red.

Green.

Violet.

Until he took the fourth vial.

Then suddenly a faint blue aura began to surround him.

As if his speed had suddenly increased, Harry, who already had several objects in his hands, began moving them at a speed almost impossible to follow. He seemed to be assembling those materials into something that vaguely resembled a Rubik's Cube.

Then he pulled out something that looked like a small metal graver or punch and began carving symbols into each of the cube's faces.

Everything happened in just a few seconds.

When the bluish aura faded, his movements returned to looking slower and clumsier.

But the object in his hand was already finished.

Harry turned several sides of the cube, as if solving the puzzle, and then threw it upward, toward the last space of light that remained as the dome of roots finished closing.

The object escaped just before the roots completely trapped Harry.

Terra watched the shining object for a moment.

Then it exploded.

An explosion that sent each of its fragments flying in different directions.

Terra lifted her staff slightly, deflecting one of the fragments that nearly struck her. The piece fell to the ground in front of her, faintly showing a small rune carved into its surface.

Terra frowned slightly, confused by Harry's strange attempt.

It didn't seem to have caused much damage.

But then she noticed something.

The fragment at her feet began to glow brighter and brighter.

And the same thing was happening with the other fragments scattered across the arena.

They all formed a circle.

A massive circle whose center was the place where Harry was still trapped inside the dome of roots.

Terra quickly pointed her staff toward the fragments.

But it was already too late.

Suddenly, lines of magic began to draw themselves across the ground, connecting each fragment into a gigantic circular formation.

From that outer circle, more lines spread inward toward the center.

And there a second, smaller circle appeared.

A perfect magic circle.

The symbol shone with blinding intensity.

Suddenly, the arena began to tremble.

Hands of earth started emerging from the ground. First one. Then another.

The hands pressed against the ground and began pulling bodies out.

One after another.

An army of earth golems began to rise.

They were the size of normal people, though many cracked or broke apart after taking a few steps.

But it didn't matter.

There were too many.

They kept emerging while the magic circle continued to shine.

Terra watched this and couldn't help letting out a small smile of genuine satisfaction as she saw Harry's magic.

But the golems didn't take long to surround the dome of roots where Harry was trapped.

And they began pulling at the roots.

Terra raised her staff to stop them, but another group of golems was already running toward her from every direction.

She was forced to move her staff.

A root burst from the ground and whipped around her like a living lash, striking the earth golems and making them explode into clouds of dust that quickly spread across the arena.

But more and more figures of earth kept advancing.

Preventing her from doing anything but defend herself.

The dust began to fill the entire place until no one in the stands could see what was happening inside the arena.

They could only hear the sound of roots smashing golems apart.

"Hmm?"

The dust reached the stands, making some spectators cover their mouths so they wouldn't swallow dirt.

But some noticed something strange.

The taste in their mouths wasn't dirt.

Ludo, who was near the judges and professors, was one of the first to notice.

He licked his lips curiously.

"Uh… why is the dirt sweet?" he asked.

"Mmm… tastes like wood," Newt commented.

"Ugh. Tastes like coal," Tommy said.

"Oh… yes. The circle in the center. That was transfiguration. I was wondering what he was planning. Now it makes sense," Nicolas said suddenly.

Up until that moment he hadn't said much. He had simply been enjoying the show.

Everyone looked at him in confusion.

But before anyone could ask for an explanation, something glowed faintly in the center of the arena.

A small reddish point.

As if someone had lit a candle.

Then everyone's eyes snapped open when the flame grew almost instantly.

It expanded.

Some spectators covered their heads. Others threw themselves to the ground. Some couldn't even react and simply froze in place, staring as what looked like death rushed straight toward them.

Then it happened.

A sudden explosion of flames covered the entire arena.

It was so massive that the whole place shook. Even the animals of the Forbidden Forest fled in terror while all of Hogwarts trembled from the shockwave.

Fortunately for the visitors, the red barrier surrounding the arena managed to contain the flames before they reached the stands.

But for a moment it looked like the barrier itself had to expand to hold back so much fire.

Then it opened at the top, letting the flames escape into the sky.

For a second, an enormous tower of fire formed.

Then everything vanished.

The silence that followed was absolute.

Some spectators who had thrown themselves to the ground slowly lifted their heads.

Others, their hands still trembling, lowered the arms they had used to shield their faces.

The arena was now completely clean.

All the dust had vanished, incinerated instantly by the explosion.

In the center of the arena stood Harry.

Standing.

His clothes looked completely soaked, though some parts were still scorched.

His skin was covered by a layer of ice crystals that quickly cracked and fell away, disappearing as his skin returned to normal.

He still had a vial between his teeth.

Around him, all the plants and roots had been burned away.

Only a cocoon of blackened roots remained right in front of him.

The cocoon slowly opened.

Terra stepped out of it.

And she didn't look particularly happy.

"You're mean, Harry," she said in a reproachful tone.

She raised her staff.

The air around her trembled slightly, as if she were about to unleash a powerful attack.

But before she could, Harry tossed something at her feet.

It was a cylinder made of several metallic rings covered in runes.

The moment it touched the ground, the rings began spinning in different directions.

Terra's eyes widened.

But it was already too late.

A white aura expanded from the object.

In an instant it swept across the entire arena.

Many spectators covered themselves again, now genuinely afraid of whatever Harry might do next.

Terra also raised her staff to shield herself.

But one second passed.

Two seconds.

And nothing happened.

Confused expressions appeared everywhere.

But they didn't last long.

Suddenly, the stands began to tremble.

As if they had weakened, they started descending slowly.

The stadium staff immediately pulled out their wands and tried casting spells to stop the fall.

But none of them worked.

The magical signs some people were holding with the champions' names lost their glow.

They became nothing more than ordinary banners.

Even Ludo's microphone stopped working.

Panic began spreading as everyone realized what was happening. Among the professors, even more than anyone else, they looked horrified, shocked, and truly stunned.

Even Flitwick had fainted from the shock. Though the smile on his face showed a hint of pride as Harry's professor.

After all, magic itself wasn't working.

Harry had created an object that canceled magic entirely. Something truly unheard of until now.

The entire stadium was about to collapse.

But before that could happen, Wanda raised one hand.

A red aura wrapped around the structure and held everything in place.

It stopped the descent.

Meanwhile, she smiled proudly while watching her son standing in the center of the arena with a clearly victorious expression.

Terra looked at Harry in surprise.

Total silence fell over the stands as everyone stared at the cylinder on the ground.

Harry had created an object capable of nullifying magic.

Among the Slytherin stands, a man slowly stood up.

He looked at the cylinder with obvious excitement.

"There it is… what we've been looking for," he murmured.

It was the father of the Carrows.

But no one paid him any attention.

Everyone was looking at Harry.

"What will you do now?" Harry asked while looking at Terra.

"I didn't use the chaos magic from my wand. I only used it to transform."

Terra looked at him with a frown.

She seemed annoyed.

Then she threw the staff toward Harry.

After that, she turned around while shouting,

"You're mean! I'm telling Wanda to spank you!"

As she flew toward the stands, her body started getting smaller.

Smaller.

Smaller.

Until she returned to her normal size.

Just as she reached the stands, everyone was staring at her.

But Terra changed direction at the last moment.

She flew straight toward Billy.

And slipped into the pocket of his shirt.

Billy opened the pocket for a moment.

Terra was completely asleep.

Probably exhausted.

Everything happened so fast that Harry didn't even have time to react.

He simply let out a small smile while picking up the staff that had fallen to the ground.

The staff changed shape in his hand and turned back into his wand.

Harry then noticed a key hanging from its tip.

He walked toward the chest.

He opened it.

Inside was the golden egg.

Harry lifted it with one hand.

For a few seconds the stadium remained completely silent.

And then…

The applause erupted.

It was so loud it sounded like it could be heard all the way in Hogsmeade.

Harry looked toward the stands, seeing his family waving and smiling at him.

They looked quite proud.

Then he said, looking at everyone,

"Well… I think I need a doctor. Because I'm actually really poisoned."

His skin started changing color instantly.

Madame Pomfrey and several healers ran toward him immediately.

When they examined him, they were surprised.

Harry really was poisoned.

And badly.

All the substances he had swallowed during the battle had mixed inside his body without being properly refined into potions.

His body had been forced to process them directly.

Wanda, seeing the state of her son, shook her head slightly in disapproval.

But she couldn't help feeling proud.

Just like he had said.

At no point had he used chaos magic.

And even so, he had shown power and creativity that surpassed many wizards.

Though even so…

He deserved a small punishment for not taking proper care of his own body.
