Chapter 363 - Red the Human - Part 2

Red the Human - Part 2

"Oh no. Out of everything, it had to be Red," Billy said, already dreading what that chaotic, idiotic dragon might have turned into.

Meanwhile, Tommy looked genuinely excited to see what Red had transformed into.

"Do you think he'll turn into an even bigger dragon?" Tommy shouted.

"Idiot. Red can already turn into a bigger dragon," Billy couldn't help replying as he pulled out his wand with one hand while gathering Chaos Magic in the other, preparing himself for whatever came out next.

And if Red lost control, like Billy had heard happened once before with a house-elf, he just had to stall long enough for Mom or Harry to notice.

The red light surrounding Red intensified, and the cocoon around him began to grow.

But almost immediately, it stopped expanding and then shrank slightly again.

Even so, the whirlwind of Chaos Magic continued wreaking havoc throughout the living room.

Then...

The cocoon slowly began to split open, like a chrysalis breaking apart.

At the same time, something could be heard coming from inside.

It wasn't a roar.

It wasn't a growl.

It was laughter.

Laughter that kept growing louder and louder as whatever was inside broke free.

Then the cocoon exploded, sending fragments flying in every direction.

And the laughter didn't stop.

If anything, it sounded even louder now, as the entire house seemed to tremble beneath that power-filled cackle.

"HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"

Billy froze.

He could feel Chaos Magic surging through the room at a level even greater than his own.

Standing there now, in the center of the room, was a boy no older than Billy himself, holding his hands up in front of his face as he laughed madly.

Crimson hair.

Golden eyes with vertical pupils that looked as though they could see through everything.

And his teeth seemed sharper than any human's, as if they could effortlessly tear through anything.

He wore blood-red knight's armor that looked as though it had been forged from scales.

Red's own dragon scales.

And the worst part...

Despite his height, he looked unbelievably strong.

And completely insane.

A faint fear rose in both brothers' chests.

An almost primal fear.

"Oh no... did he lose control?" Tommy asked.

But Billy didn't answer immediately.

A bead of sweat slid down his face as he wondered whether they could really hold Red off long enough for Wanda or Harry to arrive.

But while the two Maximoff brothers stared at the little red dragon's transformation in horror, Red's thoughts were completely different.

"NOW I CAN! I CAN FINALLY DO IT!" Red shouted, flashing a huge grin that exposed his razor-sharp teeth.

Hearing those words, both Billy and Tommy tensed up.

What exactly was he going to do?

"What do we do?" Tommy asked immediately, already fearing they'd end up getting punished because of this mess.

Even though, if anyone was to blame, it was Harry for forgetting his stupid wand.

"I don't know," Billy answered.

"You're the one with Chaos Magic!"

"That doesn't mean I know how to fix this!"

From atop Billy's head, Terra began frantically gesturing toward the door.

"What?" Billy asked before looking toward the now-open doorway.

Then he looked back to the center of the room, where Red had been only moments ago.

But he was gone.

"Oh, crap," Tommy said, realizing the same thing.

"Go after him! Now!" Billy shouted immediately.

Tommy bolted toward the door, disappearing in a burst of super speed.

The moment he reached the street, the laughter was still echoing, giving away the direction Red had gone.

But it was moving away at incredible speed.

Even faster than Tommy could run at his absolute maximum.

But Tommy didn't waste time thinking about it.

He simply sprinted toward that manic laughter, determined not to lose sight of it.

Meanwhile, Red, now transformed into red mist, shot through the sky at incredible speed before dropping into the middle of a busy street.

The boy's sudden appearance forced several cars to swerve violently to avoid hitting him, causing a chain of crashes and panicked screams as people watched Red emerge from the mist.

Red slowly turned his head, his golden eyes locking onto a nearby window.

Then his body dissolved into crimson mist once more before reappearing directly in front of it.

The people who actually saw him move as living mist panicked and began running in terror.

"AAAH!" people screamed, unable to understand what kind of creature Red was.

Especially when they looked into those golden eyes.

Looking into them felt like staring into the abyss...

Only for the abyss to stare right back at you.

His mere presence seemed to draw out everyone's deepest fears, as though his very existence stood so far above theirs that they could feel their souls being crushed.

But Red ignored the foolish mortals.

Right now, all of his attention was focused on the reflection staring back at him.

Himself.

"I HAVE ARMS NOW!" were his first words, which only surprised him even more.

Then he looked at his hands.

"ARE THOSE HUMAN FINGERS?!!" he exclaimed excitedly as his nails instantly grew into claws before retracting back into normal-looking fingers.

"HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" he laughed again, overjoyed, while every window and pane of glass around him exploded from the force of his smile alone.

The surrounding buildings began raining shattered glass down onto Red, who proudly started walking down the street with a huge grin on his face.

But after a moment, he stopped.

He slightly raised his head and began sniffing the air.

Then his body transformed back into crimson mist and shot between the buildings with incredible speed.

Just as Tommy reached the street, which was now in complete chaos, with glass still falling like rain, making the young boy widen his eyes in shock.

"Oh no. Mom's going to kill us," he muttered before disappearing again, trying to follow Red's trail.

...

Meanwhile, Billy ran into the main hall of Greengrass Manor and threw the door open.

Inside, what appeared to be a very important meeting was taking place.

Or at least, it should have been.

Because in reality, Selene, Edward, Susan, Wendell, Remus, Frank and Alice Longbottom, as well as Professor McGonagall, Professor Flitwick, and several members of Hogwarts' Board of Governors were all there.

Across a large table covered in what looked like construction blueprints stood Sirius, who seemed to be passionately arguing his case.

And beside him was Harry, who had come to support him, but the more he listened to his godfather's ideas, the more he realized he'd chosen the wrong side...

And that he'd been tricked.

He had just realized it a little too late.

When Harry saw his brother enter, he turned toward him, as did the rest of the adults present.

"Did something happen, Billy?" Harry asked, seeing his younger brother breathing heavily and looking extremely rushed.

"Well..."

Billy could have blurted everything out right there.

But with strangers present, he couldn't.

After all, Harry's wand was supposed to remain a secret known only to family and close friends. It could be dangerous otherwise.

Or worse...

The Ministry might even try to take it away.

"Harry, I think there's something I need your help with right now," Billy said after thinking quickly.

Harry looked at his younger brother for a moment.

Knowing Billy wasn't the type to act like this...

And at the same time seeing the perfect excuse to abandon this half-sunken ship called "supporting Sirius," he quickly excused himself from the meeting.

"What's wrong?" Harry asked as they stepped into the hallway.

"Well..."

Billy leaned closer and, just in case, whispered the problem into Harry's ear.

As Harry listened, his expression changed several times.

Until it became...

Frozen.

"...Who did you say took my wand?" he asked, both incredulous and nervous, wondering if he'd heard wrong.

"R-Red. And... well... he disappeared. I sent Tommy after him, though," Billy replied.

For several seconds, Harry remained completely silent.

Right then, Daphne, Draco, and Hermione, who seemed to have just come out of another room in the manor while talking among themselves, noticed Harry standing there frozen.

"Hm? What's wrong?" Daphne asked.

"Red took my wand," Harry answered in an unusually flat tone.

The three of them stared at him for a moment as though they hadn't understood what he'd just said.

Then all three fixed their eyes on Harry as their expressions changed instantly.

"What?!" all three shouted at once.

"Red. Took. My. Wand," Harry repeated, emphasizing every single word.

Hermione's mouth opened and closed while her face turned pale.

Draco, on the other hand, looked surprisingly calm.

Just like Harry.

Then he turned toward his best friend and raised a thumbs-up while keeping his usual stoic expression.

"Good luck," he said before turning around and walking back the way he'd come.

Meanwhile, Daphne immediately declared,

"Okay... it's the apocalypse."

Though she wore an incredibly amused smile.

Of course, Harry grabbed all three of his friends and dragged them along with him before his mother found out.

Who would, without question, get him into a lot of trouble for leaving his wand lying around.
