Nicholas Marjan, known as Niels, was an Asian football-obsessed loner in the modern world. A master of FIFA Career Mode, addicted to YouTube tactics videos, and followed every twist of the transfer window like it was life or death, he lived the beautiful game from behind a screen.
Until the day he died.
And woke up in the late 2000s, in the body of a once-promising young player at a lower-league English club. A player whose career had been cut short by a brutal ACL injury. With his playing career over before it could truly begin, his second life offers no glory on the pitch.

Matchday 30: Crawley Town vs. Cheltenham Town(H)


The evening was cold at Broadfield Stadium. The floodlights were already on, and around 2,500 Crawley supporters had taken their seats. Red scarves filled the stands as the fans sang, "We are Crawley!"


The team was still feeling good after the 2-1 win over Shrewsbury four days earlier. Max Simons' late goal had helped move them up to sixth place. Nate Sutton's injury was still on everyone's mind, though. He was expected to miss around three weeks after damaging his knee against Wycombe.


Tonight, Cheltenham Town were the visitors. They were known for pressing high and making it difficult for teams to play out from the back. It was another important game in a busy period, with Notts County away on February 13 and the FA Cup game against Burnley coming on February 20.


Niels was near the side of the pitch when a supporter handed him a homemade banner.
