Chapter 101: What We're Building

Niels woke up early to the light coming through the curtains of his hotel room. The canal outside was already catching the morning sun, with the water turning silver in some places and gold in others.
Navigli was quiet. It was hard to believe that only a short time ago the city had been full of excitement after the Champions League final. Niels was still thinking about his conversation with Matteo too.
That morning, he was leaving for Genoa. It would be his last stop before going to the Netherlands and then back to Crawley. The new season was waiting for him, but he wasn't ready to rush into it yet.
He packed his backpack with some clothes, his old novel, and the football psychology book he had bought the day before. He still hadn't finished looking through it. There were already a few ideas in it that he wanted to think about.
