The auction board was formed across the Gilded Ossuary's bridge. Despite the greed, it shouldn't have been able to hold so much.
Across the submerged throne-yard, the auction was set up across interlocking pieces of bone-white stone and gilded cartilage. Banners with living names and echoes marked the banners above the buyers. The buyers themselves were in tiered booths. Bone knights guarded the entry points. The bidders were guarded under sealed canopies with price scripts already burning. There was a central board listing war bonds and closeness. The highest bid was Zeus' echo. Below this, there were named ties to Athena, Nyxara, Vespera and Ravna, and ties to those close to death to Hades.
Athena scanned the board. Her expression turned icy. "They turned loyalty into inventory."
"We shut it down," Zeus said.
No herald was sent.
