My eyes snapped open when I heard the smack. The smack that sounded right from inside my heart, and tore through the silence. The smack that caused the already tensed air to thicjeb the more.
Only a second ago, my hand was in the air, and in the next second, there was a smack, and Avira's head snapped backward. When I saw her face, just before she began to stagger, the left part of it was red and puffy.
What the fuck have I done?
The anger I felt left me after I hit Avira on the face. In fact, I could not remember why I had advanced towards her until my eyes caught the bunch of keys which was now lying on the floor, bunch of keys which suddenly had no use for me. Anymore.
I saw Avira's eyes widen in shock as she staggered, and tried to keep balance, and to steady herself from falling, but it was futile.
Instinctively, I reached for her, to stop her from falling on the hard floor, but she pushed me away with so much strength that I wondered how it was even possible.
