The meeting ended on a solemn note, and when pack members were dismissed, they left sorrowfully. The News of Alpha Vincent's escape had hit them harder than I expected, and I couldn't help but feel bad for them, for myself, and for the entire pack at large.
We were in the early hours of the day now, and pack members, having been warned to take extra caution, clutched the arms of their young ones who, in their ignorance and innocence struggled to be left alone.
The instructions were simple. They were to go about their day as usual, but not alone, and more importantly, not without warriors to accompany them. The children were forbidden to go out on their own.
I made it clear to them that Alpha Vincent was sure to return, and their reaction was pure terror. Although I too feared what may happen when he arrived, I did not show it at all. I exuded so much confidence that made me question myself.
