"Shuangyue, there's no need to feel guilty. He never intended to hide it in the first place," Xie Yulan said, taking the girl's hand and patting it gently. This really had little to do with her. Xie Yulan knew her son hadn't planned on being secretive;
if she, Jiang Yuan, and Gu Tong hadn't worked so hard to suppress the information, his possession of a Legendary Pokémon would have been exposed long ago.
"How can you be so calm?" Xiao Luoxue asked, staring at Jiang Chen in disbelief. He knew he was being targeted by countless people and had become a thorn in the side of several nations, yet he remained leisurely, even wearing a faint smile.
"Young Master has already found a solution, hasn't he?" Ning Ya asked. Having grown up with Jiang Chen, she had spent more time with him than his own parents due to their busy schedules. She knew him better than anyone. Seeing his expression, she was certain he had a plan.
"You really have a way out?" Ling Wanqiu's eyes lit up as she looked at him. Even Xie Yulan turned her gaze toward him, curious about his strategy.
"There is a way, though it's a bit... violent. Many people will die when the time comes." Jiang Chen's voice wasn't loud, but those who heard him felt a sudden chill crawl down their spines.
"Deterrence? That works. Since they dare to move against my son, they deserve whatever comes to them. Dead is dead," Xie Yulan remarked, having guessed the gist of his plan. Ling Wanqiu and the others didn't quite understand,
and Jiang Chen didn't bother explaining. He had never considered himself a "good person." If no one provoked him, he was quite gentle, but he was incredibly vengeful toward those who dared cross him. He would pay them back a thousandfold.
I really didn't want to play it this way. I gave you all a chance; I hope you can grasp it, Jiang Chen sighed inwardly as he glanced at his refreshed System Quest Panel.

However, the quest wouldn't be easy to complete. How hard would his "Ruthless Resolve" have to be? Within those words, Jiang Chen saw a looming storm of blood.
Furthermore, could he truly shock the nations of the world without bloodshed? Definitely not.
"The reward is great, but I still hope we can coexist in peace. Please, don't force me to remind you of the terror a Legendary Pokémon can inflict," Jiang Chen muttered to himself. No one heard him.
Whether he would actually complete this quest depended on if anyone truly tried to assassinate him. If world leaders really wanted him dead, as his mother analyzed, then he would simply have to ensure they died first.
Jiang Chen felt a flicker of guilt thinking about it, so it remained to be seen if those people would act in a way that washed that guilt away.
Soon, they dropped the unpleasant topic. Having won the Hidden Dragon Cup Trainer Competition, they had to celebrate. Ning Ya personally went to the kitchen to prepare a grand feast, while Ling Wanqiu and Xiao Luoxue ran in to help. Gu Shuangyue stayed behind to chat with Xie Yulan. Strangely enough, Gu Shuangyue's cold personality meshed well with Jiang Chen's mother.
As for Jiang Chen, he went to train his Pokémon.
"He just won the Hidden Dragon Cup, and he won't even give himself a single day off. That child..." Xie Yulan sighed helplessly, watching Jiang Chen through the window. He was so serious about training. If he put half that effort into pursuing girls, she'd probably have a daughter-in-law by now.
If Jiang Chen knew what she was thinking, he would have been speechless. Given his current age, if he actually did anything inappropriate, the "mighty River Crab" of censorship would likely descend upon him.
In the yard, Garchomp was chasing Jiang Chen, constantly pestering him for a battle. During the competition, it had appeared on the field but hadn't actually fought, leaving it very dissatisfied.
"You want to fight? Then let Gardevoir accompany you. Gardevoir, come over here and spar with Garchomp for a bit."
Jiang Chen called Gardevoir over.

Gardevoir looked at Garchomp with eager anticipation, making the land shark even more fearful. Gardevoir was its natural nemesis; her attributes perfectly countered its own. More importantly,
her Psychic-type abilities were too difficult to deal with. She could use Teleport to dodge any attack, making her impossible to catch. Garchomp could do nothing but take a passive beating.
"If you don't want to fight Gardevoir, how about Dragonite?" Jiang Chen pointed to the Dragonite training nearby.
Garchomp hesitated for a moment and then shook its head. It wanted a proper spar to enjoy the fun of battle, not to be a punching bag. Sparring with Dragonite was essentially just endurance training.
It was a one-sided beatdown. Dragonite had already gained a sliver of Origin Power and was just a hair's breadth away from being Champion-level. Bullying a Garchomp was child's play for it.
"Then who do you want to fight?" Jiang Chen asked.
Garchomp's gaze shifted, scanning its other companions. It knew their strengths well. Its eyes lingered on Blastoise, Charizard, and Metagross. Finally, it chose Metagross. Blastoise and Charizard were slightly weaker than it,
and Garchomp wanted a challenge. Metagross fit the bill. Metagross was stronger than Garchomp and had beaten it in the past; Garchomp wanted to try its luck again.
"Then spar with each other. Mew, watch them. Don't let them wreck the yard," Jiang Chen instructed Mew.
This yard wasn't as large as the one in Tianhai City and wasn't specially reinforced. It couldn't withstand their rampaging. Mew had to stay on guard to prevent accidents.
Metagross didn't refuse the challenge and moved onto the field with Garchomp. Mew generated an energy barrier, sealing them inside so that no matter how intense the fight became, it wouldn't affect the outside.
In the end, Metagross proved superior, successfully defeating Garchomp. After this bout, Garchomp's dislike for Psychic-type Pokémon reached a whole new level. Metagross could also use Teleport, and that one move alone was enough to make Garchomp's head throb.
"Jiang Chen, the celebration feast is ready! You're the guest of honor, so get over here!" Xiao Luoxue shouted toward him.
Hearing her, Jiang Chen let his Pokémon continue their individual training and walked into the villa.
