"As you know, Mel, I've always been someone who tries not to hurt you if possible."
Maria glanced at their interwined hands; Mel's underneath hers, as she hummed at the subtle warmth within the grasp.
"I have admitted my guilt for not caring about the Witches much."
Her fingers idly danced on Mel's palm, her mind more occupied by the contact than the conversation.
"But I can consciously change the nickname if you like, Mel."
"Maria..."
Observing the flicker of affection in Maria's eyes, Mel could only smile in defeat.
She dared not force change upon her Partner; yet more than that was the unfazed look from her Partner.
"I don't dislike it, but don't be bottled up on your secrets."
Mel glanced to the ceiling, the spark of the light bulb a welcoming distraction.
"Lila and others... I don't know why you personally dislike them, but it couldn't have felt good."
A teasing chuckle escaped as Mel flipped their hands.
