Kushina nodded and raised her hand toward the spot.
Large rocks formed in the sky above her, each about half the size of the cave entrance.
Kushina bent her arm back as if she were about to throw a stone with her hand, and when she made the throwing motion, all the rocks in the air were hurled toward the mountain.
They crashed not only into the entrance, but higher up as well, completely collapsing it, leaving it entirely buried.
"What kind of ninjutsu is that?" Raizen asked in surprise. He had seen similar techniques before, but none reached that far or had such destructive power.
How to put it, it was as if most ninjutsu that imitated something did not have the real power of it, but instead felt like a false version.
Whether it was fire, water, earth, or wind, ninjutsu of these elements were far weaker than the real thing. Even ninjutsu of special elements, such as those that used lightning, could not compare to the real one.
The exception was wood, which for some reason had ninjutsu far more powerful than its natural version.
Of course, this had a reason, and that was chakra. If a ninja with much more chakra performed it, then the ninjutsu would have the strength of the real element and could even surpass it.
But Raizen had never seen anything like this, so witnessing Kushina's power shocked him.
There was not much time to be surprised, however, because the Iwa ninjas inside the mountain rushed out quickly. Instead of waiting like fish patiently waiting to die, they chose to counterattack by surprise, and attacking the moment they were attacked was the best timing.
More than one hundred and fifty Iwa ninjas charged against Konoha's hundred, however all of Iwa's forces were only chunin.
"Even if they are chunin, there are many of them, be careful," Raizen said, but when he looked at Kushina, he saw fire arrows surrounding her.
Several Iwa ninjas were caught off guard by their power and speed, getting pierced and killed, but as soon as their comrades reacted, they dodged the arrows with ease, only slightly altering their trajectory since Kushina's attack was fixed-point.
"Tsk," Kushina clicked her tongue before rushing forward and striking one of the ninjas, who had not imagined her speed.
After hitting him, Kushina launched several wind blades toward the ninjas around her.
Several nearby ninjas saw her reckless advance and mocked her. With a tacit nod, all of them used fire against her.
Kushina surrounded herself with water, successfully protecting herself, and attacked the closest one, forming a kind of air sword that pierced the ninja. Without letting go, she moved to the next one, who was still shocked, and killed him instantly.
"Die!"
A ninja attacked her from behind with a sword, which clashed against Kushina's air sword when she reacted and blocked it.
KRRSH
The air sword shattered instantly.
"Still too soft," Kushina said as she dodged the enemy's blade.
Before the ninja could react, she sent him flying with a kick to the stomach and took his sword.
She looked at the sword in her hand, and an idea formed in her mind.
She completely enveloped the sword in fire and made a special effort so that it would not damage the blade nor dissipate into the air.
'Awesome, look what I did.'
[Focus on the fight. Behind you!]
Kushina turned around, swinging her new sword, cutting both ninjas in half with ease.
"Arghh"
"Ahhh"
Kushina looked around and finally spotted another ninja with a sword.
"Arghh"
"Ahhh"
"Kughhh"
As Kushina advanced toward the swordsman, she killed every Iwa ninja in her path. Before the owner of the sword could react, he was already dead, and Kushina had another weapon in her hands.
Doing the same as before with this second sword, Kushina began killing every enemy ninja she could, wielding two fire swords in her hands.
As she moved across the battlefield, the fire from her blades illuminated her amused smile, giving her a somewhat strange appearance, as if she completely did not belong on the battlefield.
After a while, another Iwa ninja appeared in front of her and dodged her swords before launching a fire ninjutsu, spewing flames from his mouth.
"I am a master of fire ninjutsu, you will not defeat me with that," he smiled arrogantly.
Kushina looked at the swords in her hands and threw them toward two nearby Iwa ninjas.
"Kughhh" One sword pierced a ninja's chest, killing him instantly, while the other stabbed into another ninja's leg, and his enemies took advantage to finish him off.
"I was bored of them anyway."
The ninja looked at her in confusion, but at that moment he felt something holding his legs. In that brief distraction, Kushina had already closed in and strangled him with a whip made of water, killing him instantly.
While Kushina continued using different elements across the battlefield, elsewhere Raizen was fighting another chunin, the leader of Iwa's camp.
"What kind of monster did you bring to the battlefield?" he said, glancing at Kushina before attacking.
Raizen easily dodged the attack and countered with a lethal strike.
The enemy ninja looked at his wound and then at Kushina, then laughed.
"No matter how strong she is, she is just a child. She is treating the battlefield like a game, and in the end, that will cost her."
Raizen looked at Kushina killing Iwa ninjas with increasingly peculiar techniques and nodded in agreement.
"That is true. But if you do not have the strength to make her fight seriously, then you have no right to tell her to do so."
After saying that, he did not spare another glance at the dead ninja and moved on to the next.
Before long, Konoha's side completely wiped out their enemies, with only a few casualties.
"Kushina, you did well."
"Thank you," Kushina nodded gratefully. Over the past few days, she had felt that, beyond seeing her as a useful ninja, Raizen treated her like someone close, which she appreciated.
"Honestly, without you it would not have been this easy. I do not know how to thank you," Raizen said with a broad smile.
Kushina smiled. "Do not worry, my dream is to become Hokage. When the time comes, I will only need your support."
Raizen froze for a second, not expecting someone to declare something like that out loud, then he laughed.
"Alright, alright, a woman Hokage, huh? That would be refreshing, and it would be good to have such a straightforward Hokage," he said.
"Raizen-san, what will we do now?" Kushina asked, already serious again.
"Now," Raizen thought for a moment. "Iwa's side will not take long to realize what happened and will send another team to fill the gap.
However, in the meantime, we can help the rest of the camps like ours.
If we do it right, this could help a lot."
"How?" Kushina asked. Although she agreed that helping another team would help, she did not think it could mean much in the war.
But Raizen, with far more experience, thought differently.
"We are only at the very beginning of the war, just a few weeks since it started.
In fact, according to the messengers, the other camps are still at a stalemate with Iwa's camps.
That also means that most of Konoha's forces are still alive. If we help now and unite forces against an enemy camp, we can defeat it quickly, creating a chain effect, destroying enemy camps faster and faster as we gather more people.
This is only possible because one team quickly defeated the other from the start.
Even by the time they respond, they will have to send more people and stronger ones, which will disrupt their long-term war plans, reduce their morale, and above all, give you a great reputation," Raizen explained.
Kushina, who had literally said a minute ago that she wanted to become Hokage, did not expect Raizen to think so quickly of something that benefited her in such a way.
Of course, it benefited the war as a whole, but that did not remove the benefit for her.
"When do we leave?" Kushina asked excitedly.
"The sooner, the better. We need that by the time they notice we destroyed this camp and send a team, the next camp is already destroyed so we keep the advantage.
The battle was short, so after resting a bit, we will leave immediately."
---
Two months later, in Konoha, the Hokage's office.
The door was kicked open forcefully.
"Old man, what are you doing?"
"Tsunade, you cannot kick the door. Why does no one enter like a normal person?"
"Do not try to change the subject. You had better not have any plans involving Kushina," Tsunade said.
"What are you talking about?" Hiruzen said, not knowing what she meant.
But Tsunade did not believe him.
"Do you think I am stupid? The entire village is talking about Kushina. Her reputation is constantly growing. Something like that would not happen without direct manipulation," Tsunade said.
All across the village, people were talking about Kushina, to the point that it felt fake, so Tsunade immediately suspected Hiruzen.
She did not oppose Kushina's dream of becoming Hokage, but allowing Hiruzen and Danzo to turn her into one for their personal motives was another matter entirely.
However, Hiruzen shook his head.
"I did nothing."
"And you think I will beli...?"
Before Tsunade finished her sentence, Hiruzen placed war reports on the desk, which she took and began to skim through quickly.
