Chapter 83 - Chapter 82: New Mangekyoū Ability (2)

Raijin no Taiko.

That was the name of one of Kakashi's new Mangekyou ability.

It meant Drums of the Thunder God which it was aptly named considering Kakashi likely awakened it after his Sharingan absorbed enough essence of Kaminari, one of the Shinto Gods.

The ability was tied to his left Mangekyo Sharingan. It was a fusion of sound and lightning, each blink of his eye unleashed thunderclap shockwaves laced with vibrations and lightning.

These shockwaves could repel attacks, disrupt enemy movements, shatter internal organs, or even crack the earth itself. If was defense and offense in one.

If fireballs were coming his way or well in this world, missiles would be more likely to be used against him, he could look at them with his eye and with a blink, they could be destroyed from a range.

The lightning shocks that accompanied the vibrations were equally lethal, frying nerves and scorching flesh.

Kakashi's thought, 'It's versatile. Repels projectiles, knocks back enemies, and damages them directly.'

His mind then shifted to his second Mangekyo ability, a refined control over lightning. He could control his lightning like Storm Release.

He could manipulate lightning chakra post-release, bending its path that felt impossible before.

He could do unreal feats with lightning—redirecting bolts mid-air, shaping them into arcs or spears.

The ability also slashed the chakra cost of his lightning jutsus, making them more sustainable.

Kakashi knew that he can push further his lightning jutsu and create new techniques using this Mangekyou ability.

This ability was called Ikazuchi no Mai which literally meant lightning flowing freely under the user's command.

Kakashi had witnessed how Darui used his storm release by controlling the lightning bolts that he launched. But with his Mangekyoū abilities, he could do much more than that. Not only that, the ability also increased his control over lightning.

Lightning was something that could not be tamed and controlled which this ability of his made easy to do so.

These two abilities made the pair of Mangekyoū abilities that Kakashi awakened with the recent advancement of his Sharingan.

Kakashi's thoughts deepened, recalling texts from Kamar-Taj and Odin's words in Asgard.

His sharingan had absorbed the essence of Kaminari, a Shinto god of lightning. Odin had hinted Kaminari fought him in his prime and survived, a testament to the god's power.

But there was a question in Kakashi's mind,

If Shinto gods are tied to the Sharingan, what's the Rinnegan?

He knew Madara and Sasuke had awakened it, but the specifics eluded him. He knew that it was an evolution of the Mangekyo… but connected to what? A higher deity?

Did Rinnegan also originate from this universe just like how Sharingan's abilities were related from beings and gods from here?

Or were Ōtsutsuki, the origanators of Sharingan and Rinnegan from this universe? Who knows they might have found a way to travel across universes?

Then there was also a question in Kakashi's mind. How should he go about getting other Shinto Gods essences to unlock more Mangekyoū abilities?

It was not like he wanted more abilities. He knew that he had enough jutsus and dojutsu abilities.

Even these two new abilities were not something that increased his strength. It just made him a more versatile shinobi.

But Kakashi knew that some Shinto gods were bound to have some unrealistic ability that might come in handy someday. Itachi's Tsukoyomi was one such ability.

Kakashi shook his head, his mind refocusing on current tasks.

Kakashi wove hand signs, sealing Gao's body in a scroll. He knew from the last time that she needs her body to revive or at least a part of it.

But this time he would ensure that she would stay death this time. He moved methodically, sealing each fallen Hand shinobi's corpse, their blood-soaked remains vanishing into his scrolls.

To clean the scene, he used a simple Water Style Jutsu, a gentle stream washing away the blood, leaving the warehouse floor slick but clean.

He dismissed his shadow clones outside that were holding the barrier, the purple barrier around the warehouse fading.

Blonsky, back in human form, approached, "Wouldn't people see the barrier? It was pretty visible and quite big. Surely someone must've seen it. Wouldn't it be against our policy of not letting civilians know about us?"

Kakashi's voice was calm, "The entire place is currently under an illusion. All people would see would be the exact scenery they're used to."

Creel, his titanium skin shifting back to normal, grinned, "You can cast illusions like this? At this rate, people would need an entire encyclopedia worth of pages to write about your abilities." His tone was joking, but his mind was awed.

Kakashi's eyes crinkled, but before he could respond, a small figure appeared beside him—a fox with nine tails, bouncing happily. "Nuh uh, it wasn't Kakashi-sensei who made the illusion. It was me, the great nine-tailed fox, Naruto!"

Kakashi's voice was dry. "He's my summon. His name is Naruto."

Creel's jaw dropped, his thoughts reeling. 'A fox? Talking?' Blonsky was equally stunned. 'First a dog, now this? A talking ninja dog and now a nine-tailed talking magic fox, is this guy trying to open a magic zoo?'

"So, she's gone for good now?" Creel asked about Madame Gao.

Kakashi's voice was steady. "Should be. Congratulations on completing your first mission."

"Does that mean we would be having Ramen today?" Naruto asked excitedly.

Kakashi could just helplessly nod.
