"Let's take it on a test run," Tony said as he walked toward the elevator. "You have been standing there admiring the armor long enough. I want to see what it can actually do in a fight."
Kakashi followed him, still examining the black armor covering his body. There was no feeling of restriction around his shoulders, elbows, knees, or wrists.
Tony glanced at him as they entered the elevator. "Before you ask, the nanites already store energy inside themselves. You can use your chakra when that stored energy runs out. I wanted you to have a reserve before you start burning through your own chakra."
Kakashi looked at the armored fingers of his right hand. "So I can fight normally without immediately spending chakra."
"Exactly. Think of the stored energy as your first battery and your chakra as the backup generator."
The elevator doors opened. They stepped into one of the Avengers' testing facilities.
The room was enormous, reinforced from floor to ceiling with layers of specialized materials. Several steel beams were positioned in the center of the testing area, along with heavy mechanical targets, drones, automated turrets, and several pieces of equipment Tony had apparently prepared specifically for Kakashi.
T'Challa stood behind the reinforced observation glass, watching the test.
Tony walked toward the control panel. "I have already calibrated the room for your strength. Please try not to destroy anything important."
Kakashi looked at the numerous targets. "You brought me into a room filled with weapons and told me not to destroy anything."
"I said anything important."
Kakashi looked toward him. Tony smiled. "See? We understand each other."
Kakashi stepped into the center of the testing area.
Tony pressed a button. A thick steel beam rose from the floor and positioned itself directly in front of Kakashi.
"Start with the basics," Tony said through the speaker. "The armor has several weapons built into the gauntlets. Try the energy blades first."
Kakashi raised his right hand. The black armor around his forearm shifted.
A thin line of blue-white energy formed across the top of his hand before rapidly extending forward into a blade nearly as long as his forearm.
Kakashi examined it. Tony immediately began explaining. "The blade uses a concentrated energy field combined with the vibranium's ability to maintain the structure. It is not technically a physical blade, so you do not have to worry about damaging it."
Kakashi moved toward the steel beam. He swung his arm once.
The energy blade passed through the steel with almost no resistance. The enormous beam separated cleanly and crashed onto the floor.
Kakashi looked at his hand. He would have to waste chakra in using a chidori to do that and even then it would not be that easy.
"It is effective."
"That is why I built it."
Kakashi looked toward the next target.Tony pressed another button.
Three armored drones emerged from the walls. They immediately opened fire. Kakashi used Kamui and his armor phased alongside him.
And then energy came from his feets as he could now fly using the armor.
One of the drone fired a concentrated energy blast.
Kakashi crossed his arms. The black armor absorbed the impact. The force pushed him backward several meters, but the suit remained intact.
Kakashi looked down at his chest. Again he did not have to summon his Susanoo or use a defensive jutsu to defend himself with the armor on him.
Tony sounded pleased. "That is one of the main defensive functions. The vibranium absorbs a portion of the kinetic and energy impact, while the Uru helps distribute the remaining force throughout the armor."
Kakashi nodded. The drone suddenly fired six missiles.
Several small plates opened across his back armor. Tony grinned as he watched the monitors. ""Now you're going to like this."
Six miniature interceptors launched from Kakashi's back.
They flew toward the incoming missiles and destroyed them in midair. Kakashi looked over his shoulder.
"Those were not there a moment ago."
"The nanites can create and deploy small weapons when necessary. And since you have your own energy source, the nanites can reproduce each other easily."
One of the drone flew toward him. Apanel opened on Kakashi's forearm.
A small cannon emerged. Kakashi stared at it.
Tony's voice immediately came through the speakers. "Do not worry. That one is nonlethal."
Kakashi fired. A concentrated energy pulse struck the drone and sent it spinning across the room.
It crashed into the ground. Kakashi looked at Tony. "Nonlethal?"
Tony shrugged. "It is designed to knock someone out."
"The drone is smoking."
"The drone is not someone."
Kakashi decided not to argue. He nudged
the armor around his forearms and the armor opened slightly.
And a drone appeared from each of them and a holographic display occured from his forearm that showed the footage from the drone.
Kakashi realised that he could also use these drones for surveillance. And he knew that he could make bigger drones and many more id he supplied large amounts of chakra to the nanites in the armor.
The nanites would reproduce at a faster rate and he could use them for lot of purposes.
There was also a forcefield that he could summon for additional defenses.
All in all, Kakashi knew that while the armor was not something that would make him stronger, it would certainly make him more efficient and help him saving chakra during long fights.
